More than adequate for an overnight stay before /after a flight from Manchester. Clean and tidy room. A few restaurants inside for choice. Bar adequate though the beer tasted funny when we were there and the staff said it was because there wasn't time to clean the lines(?!) Car park huge. Much better than the sister hotel, Britannia Stockport for an airport stopover.

Enjoyed my stay here for 5 days. Food was good, hot and plenty of choice, buffet style and good service from the waiters, who cleared away our dirty plates promptly. Nice dining restaurant area. Bedroom was very hot, even with a fan on and windows open. Shower was powerful with good temperature control. I kept banging my arm off the soap dispenser in the shower cubicle though as it has been fitted too low I think so no way of avoiding that. Gym was great with good Aircon, clean and a variety of machines. Swimming pool was good and jacuzzi was great. No entertainment. Two 20min slots of free WiFi a day but it didn't always work. Would stay here again.

Our room was clean, neat and tidy. Don't know about buffet evening meal, didn't eat in hotel. Breakfast was good, and plenty of it. Overall just needs revamping, and updating, and soft closures on the room doors.

We stopped here the night before our flight from Manchester. Room was clean and comfortable, although we had air con fans right outside the window; not so easy to sleep through, which is annoying when you're getting up early. A couple of different restaurants available, food was good.

The hotel offers a relatively cheap shuttle to the airport. However, be careful; although the timetable states that it goes to all terminals, in practice the driver only stops at terminal 2, which might mean a long walk. On return, it took several calls to the 'courtesy' line to get a taxi to come, and when it did, it was 25 minutes late. My advice, just get a normal taxi.

For the price it is fine. Needs a good deep clean throughout the whole place. Rather tired. Needs a good lick of paint. Cheap enough. Big bed. Air con was noisy and pointless.

Good hotel, bed was a bit hard though. Good restaurant ( English, Indian,Italian and Chinese cuisine)had a lovely rump steak. Only stayed overnight. £85 for a standard double room.

I went to the spa centre there and it was lovely as they have a pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, also sunbed and gym basically on the same level. Easy access and very good design. I would highly recommend it!

I had an overnight stay here as part of a coach trip with national holidays. Room was spacious, staff all pleasant. The food was brilliant at night with a buffet style set up. Loads to choose from. Breakfast was same.

Had a double room, it's quite dated, a 21 inch LCD TV on the wall, peeling paint on the walls, a view of what looks like a construction site out the window. Despite that, the room was clean and odourless, the water pressure in the shower was amazing, albeit a lack of space. We did ask reception to help get our sink unclogged, they didn't care, and did nothing about it.

Breakfast was below average. The mushrooms were literally fried crispy, the eggs were well done, the bacon was oily. The coffee tasted like the coffee beans were burnt.

The venue is busy most weekends, so expect loud music. When people walk through the corridors and talk, you can literally hear them through the walls. If you stand in the bathroom, you can equally hear anyone in the next room... Go figure!

I guess for the price, it's hard to have high expectations.

Second visit here with National Holidays...first time about 11 years ago. Booked twin room but it actually had 1 king size , twin beds pushed together and a double futon, but still enough room. Sparkling modern bathroom with lovely user- friendly shower. Breakfast great with lovely fresh fruit and gluten free options. Evening meal ok., but brighter lights would help see what we were eating. Friendly staff at this country house style hotel opposite a golf course. There is also an on-site leisure pool.

Very pleasant experience, nice large room for 2. Double bed and 2 singles. Buffet breakfast and evening meal was good quality and choice. Gym thrown in for good measure in case you eat too much.

Excellent service staff could not do enough for us especially the ladies in the Beauty Salon. Facial and back massage some of the best I've ever had. Thank you so much for making my birthday treat even better.

Has some poor reviews on another site but we found it OK. Large hotel with large car park, building past its best now but still serviceable. Restaurant is atmospheric with great helpful staff and very nice food.
Would stay again but only if a budget price.
We were on a coach trip this visit and it was one of the better coach stays.

Can't fault it really. The food is in the form of a buffer, but sufficient for an overnight stay. Rooms are clean and the bar is reasonably priced. It is most appealing for the very reasonable car parking for when flying from Manchester airport.

Enjoyed our stay when going on holiday. You can leave your car while away on holiday in hotel grounds and it's safe. Also transport to the airport from hotel first class, would definitely recommend this hotel.

Visited for an early morning networking meeting. Function room was perfectly OK as was the tea/coffee. Breakfast was OK; a good choice of food and hot plates to put it on. Parking is always interesting; half of the car park is usually under water.

We went for a 3 person spa deal purchased through Groupon. Cheap price compared to other spa deals. Great treatments, lovely staff. Dated hotel which needs refurbishment especially pool and spa areas. Food was mediocre. Pool was busy with swimming lessons which should have been explained when booking a Saturday. Ok on the whole but only if you are wanting cheap and cheerful.

Absolutely fabulous hotel!!! Loved our stay... very good staff, looked after our needs. Gutted that there's no Friday's night club anymore.

Went here for a conference didn't like the fact that you had to walk through the actual reception area to get to and back from the pool. Where's the privacy and dignity in that. Had a spa bath in the room really enjoyed that. Bed comfy.

4

Scruffy old world pub type, 'grand hotel' circa 1950.
Great place if you like to smoke.
Whilst there were a small number of people who held higher standards, the average service level is embarrassingly low.
The executive suites are okay, great bed, spacious room, but it is 2 to 3 star quality overall.
Kind of cheap place that's built on high customer volumes, not repeat business.

A great place to sleep in. Spacious rooms. Clean up environment. Breakfast display to be rearranged because it looks confusing. No tea pots as it's brought in cold. Leave hot water machine and teabags let customers prepare their own tea. Just a little change to breakfast display would make a great more difference.

Had a spa day here for three. The building and facilities are a little dated, but the service was outstanding. Staff were friendly and relaxed and we felt really comfortable. The gym is small but well equipped. Changing rooms and showers were clean and bright and the swimming pool is a good temperature. I enjoyed a facial which was one of the best I've had.

We park and stay here a few times a year the day before we go to Manchester Airport for our holidays. Been doing this for quite some years now. Lovely relaxed atmosphere that gets us in the mood for our holidays. Great bar area to unwind and have a few drinks. Never had a problem finding a parking space or any problems with noise. You chose a timeslot at reception for your transfer to the airport absolutely hassle free. Upon return at the airport you ring to be picked up and returned to the hotel to collect your car. You keep your keys at all times. Can't wait to return.

It looks a nice hotel and we stayed in the executive suite which was nice and spacious however the cleanliness was far from adequate. The dust was as thick as a pound coin behind the bed (could see from where mattress ended) lots of spillage on both walls and lampshades, bin in the bathroom hadn't been cleaned and there was excrement smears on the actual toilet seat itself. Yes you read that correctly. I did not bathe whilst here overnight and I slept in my clothes. Thought it would be a nice change from travelling to the airport at 4am...next time I'll stay home

Very poorly staffed, grounds not well kept and ad hock parking lot, real shame for what could be a beautiful location. Very over priced for drinks

A beautiful hotel cared for loved by staff. Rooms are clean and provide a luggage rack, beverage tray, kettle and hairdryer.
Extra blankets and duvets are in the wardrobe.
A squeaky bed but comfortable. A weird smell from the linen.
We paid 10.25 for a three course buffet meal.
Soup was delicious. Chicken beef fish or stuffed peppers were the mains with various vegetables and a selection of desserts. Plenty and very delicious.

It's clean and comfortable enough for a nights stay, breakfast was buffet style so you could pick what you wanted. Food was good.

Some rooms alittle small but overall a good place to stay. Food is basic but good. As an overnight stop with carpark facility for easy access to the airport this very good.

5

Cheap and cheerful place. Is very good to be able to have a room for the night on way to. Manchester airport. Parking is onsite. May have to drive around about to find a space as other people have the same idea. The onsite pizza restaurant is very good has kid menu as well. The 12 inch veggie pizza is brilliant. The house red wine was very drinkable as well.

Twin bedroom on second floor - bathroom was well presented and clean, as was the room and bedding. Only downside was the lack of a vegetarian alternative to the full English and that the croissants were stale by 9 a.m. Otherwise, really convenient.

A very grande hotel in Manchester.

We stopped over here before an early flight from Manchester Airport and the hotel was really big, you could get lost in there.

The staff were really friendly and the room was big and clean. The furnishing were more of an old style compared to more modern hotels but it gave the hotel a unique character.

There is also a pub and Bistro within the hotel so you never have to leave the hotel if you don't want to for food.

Definitely worth a visit if you are planning on staying around the area.

Went for a spa day. Gym is small and best for cardio as no squat racks. Sauna, steam room and pool in good condition and not too busy during the day. Check if there are fitness or swimming classes scheduled during your visit.

Room is good, Hotel is good. Seems to do a lot on Gmy business. Staff seemed confused, didn't seem to run like a normal hotel. Not sure if staff are having a bad day, but the facilities of the hotel on arrival were not explained. I enquired the next day to a different member and still no explanation. Also first hotel I ever been too that I have had to pay completely up front.

We have just return from a Christmas break at this hotel. It was excellent, the food was brilliant, the staff worked extremely hard, and long hours to make sure we had a great time, ( they deserve a medal ). Anyone saying that this hotel isn't worth the money must be off there trolley.

I had an adequate stay, the rooms did their job, however soundproofing was an issue. The restaurant was nice, as was breakfast, however the lack of activities at the hotel was a little disappointing. All-in-all, I had a reasonable stay at this Hotel.

Standard facilities and nothing special. Unfortunately, the wifi is restricted to the lounge area and unavailable in the rooms. It's also in an area that's rather distant from convenience stores and other places. Almost-always full car park.

I was very unimpressed with this Hotel and to be Honest very worried that this Hotel is based in the next so called northern power house.

Keycard for room said Internet room(false advertising),found that I have to go to the lobby for internet as they don't seem to approach the modern format of WiFi throughout hotel.Being based at the back of the hotel I found it too inconvenient to go to lobby to check for important emails. I then decided to watch TV unlike most hotels that offer a wide range of the free view channels I was limited to what the Hotel wanted me to watch in the 5 channels offered.
Whilst I admit that it is old building,I still think these small issues could be addressed.I also think the car-park is in need of a little drainage solution put in place as there was pools of water and plenty of mud.
