This hotel is wonderful! The staff was friendly and very helpful. The free hit breakfast tasted great too, unlike most hotels who close their breakfast at 9, this hotel serves breakfast until 10am. They had a huge variety of options; eggs, bacon, sausage, breakfast burritos, cereal, yogurt, muffins, bagels and a very cool make your own waffle station with many toppings. They also had milk, chocolate milk, coffee and a variety of juices. One of the best features was the hotel pool/atrium. The water was clean and warm. I will definitely be staying here again when I come back to Lake Erie!

My room didn't smell clean and the style of the carpet made it feel sticky. The beds weren't bad, although I've experienced better. The pool was heated to the perfect temperature: it was warm enough to walk right in, but cool enough to feel like a pool. There is a small deep end for jumping in. However, the hotel staff seemed to have difficulty in restocking the pool towels. They almost always were out, and the guy at the front desk sounded sarcastic when apologizing for the inconvenience. When I stayed, there was a free breakfast buffet, which was rather good and made up for my bad experiences. The location cannot be beat by any other hotel in the area, but traffic is often very busy.

While the hotel is older, and has an unusual layout... the room smelled so nice and fresh. Everything is clean and working order. The pool was nice. The hot tub was hot. The breakfast buffet was so/so.

Stayed here for a company event.the hotel is very nice, staff at the front door really made you feel welcome. All was very clean and well maintained. The pool was nice and I had a room right outside the pool, gorgeous! They have a laundry room and sauna that was awesome. The only downfall is the bar/restaurant closes at 1100 and there aren't many options around for delivery or to go out too. Also bathroom and tub were a little small. Either way would definitely stay again if I am ever forced to go back the PA.

Nice spacious room. Room wasn't ready at check-in time because they were fully booked the night before. Then they were assigning room numbers to rooms already occupied. We also got to listen to the woman in a room near us cough all night because walls are thin. Good part is the free continental breakfast.

Hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. They are renovating the pool soon, and it definitely needs it. If you stay before they renovate, don't expect a good pool experience. The restaurant looks great, and the breakfast buffet was a good deal for $5. Overall a nice cheap hotel near the water, airport, and route 79.

PRICE WAS A CONSIDERATION.
You're not staying in a $180+ /night room.
I was only sleeping for four hours and hitting road. It's dated, but functional. Could have been a little cleaner, but so could my house....friendly staff.
Pros: price, the coffee, breakfast, pool, parking, location.
Cons: kind of dated interior, older.
Bottom line, good for a quick overnight in lieu of $260 "in season" priced rooms on the waterfront.

Very large suite & clean. Great location & quiet. Breakfast was included & quite good. Perhaps a time to consider updating rooms as they are in need of being refreshed. Would definitely return.

Stay here was enjoyable and I was here on and Off day so had the pool and hot tub entirely to me And my wife and one other couple. If you're coming here request a pool Side room.

Decent room. Could have been bigger for the money. Pool could have been a lot cleaner. All in all a decent place to stay.

The location was a little far from downtown, but very convenient to the state park. The room was fine, if a little old and dirty, and the room was too warm even after adjusting the heat settings. The exterior door didn't lock, which from a safety standpoint was concerning. The bed was alright, a little lumpy. Overall not the worst hotel experience I've had, but far from the best.

Nice, relaxed hotel. The pool was really nice and the decorations around it are nice too. Next time I want to stay in a room with a balcony looking over the pool!

This is definitely not a three star hotel. Everything was extremely dated and worn. There were stains on the furniture and everything seemed like it could use a good cleaning. The rooms and hallways also smelled very musty and unpleasant. The only good thing about this hotel was the staff, who were helpful and friendly. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel for the price and would spend the extra 10 or 20 dollars and stay elsewhere.

Upper class. The service was amazing. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was relaxing. I have nothing but good things to say. I'm definitely going back. $100 for 2 people. A little pricey, but definitely worth it:)

Nice place for our work dinner. Pretty good service. The food was good. It was very odd how they set up the portable bar in the hallway rather than in the ballroom... not sure why they did that. Otherwise, it was good.

The room and value were good. But the hotel was full of rude guests. This I understand was not the hotel staff's fault, but a lack of rule enforcement in the pool area seemed to be the reasoning for negative behaviors. What did upset me and put a dent in the overall trip aside from the rude guests, was that days after my stay I was double charged for my room. I have called now 3 times, and each time redirected to someone who does not even manage that hotel. They then transferred me to the correct person, but of course I was prompted to leave a voicemail. I still have received a call back to resolve this issue. This seems very unprofessional, and the attendant who original answered the phone seemed to be very non-understanding of the situation.

Came for a weekend getaway with my lady and was pleasantly surprised by how much you get for the modest pricing of the rooms. We loved the breakfast buffet! The room was quiet and comfortable and the facility is all around impressive. The hot tub and pool area was especially nice since we were able to enjoy it all to ourselves.

Stayed on the third floor near the pool. Pool and surrounding areas were very nice and modern. Room was very clean and spacious. Shower and bath were neatly laid out with plenty of towels. Shower's water pressure was excellent, although the water took some time to heat up. The decor of the room was fairly dated and not as modernized as the pool and restaurant areas. Still overall satisfied with my stay.

The beds were comfortable enough and the rooms were big enough, but the bathroom was way too small with the door nearly hitting the toilet. The pool area was nice but could be updated and more clean. Overall it was a great value for the price and location was very convenient since we were going to waldameer the next day and it's right around the corner from the hotel.

Nice indoor pool. Love the hot tub. King size bed was a little uncomfortable. Awesome breakfast but you have to pay for it. Its not complimentary. I've stayed here a few times. Its good.

When we checked in they tried to charge us again for breakfast that we already paid for with our reservation. Once we got that worked out and got to the room the fan in the bathroom didn't work and bathroom was small. Wanted to relax at the pool and adults were drinking and coxing their kids to fight in the pool. No lifeguards or hotel staff in the pool area to supervise pool. Kids as young as 5 hogging the hot tub so adults couldn't use it. Signs everywhere stating no one younger then 14 in the hot tub. Other then that great location. May stay again if I ever go back up that way.

Great place to stay, offering discounts for patients. Close to the entrance to Presque Isle. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Older hotel so hallways need a little TLC. That's why I gave it a 4. Lots of parking. Nice breakfast buffet for a reasonable price.

The hotel was very clean, they had a fantastic restaurant on site which also had a live band on a Wednesday evening. The rooms were comfy and the staff actually went out of their way to make sure we were happy. I will definitely book this hotel again when I am in the area!

I have been staying at the Clarion for the past 3 weeks. It is a great affordable hotel. Everything was clean and the staff was very helpful. I enjoy having the pool, fitness center, and sauna right there as well!

The hotel was clean and our stay was great. Tried the room service and really enjoyed it. Sweet Potato Fries and Brisket with chocolate cake. Fantastic! We did has some noisy neighbors, though.

Our room was average. Clean, comfortable beds, adequate bathroom, nothing broken. Hardly any power outlets in the room for charging electronics. Breakfast buffet was nice, but no mention of it costing $6ea until you actually get to the hotel and check in.

We rented a room for a party. Food was very good. Staff was very helpful. The bartender was excellent, very attentive to the guests.

I was there for my high school prom and it was a nice location. The food was great and the area looked very nice.

Had drinks at Maxis restaurant! Loved the Chocolate Martinis! Great atmosphere and service as well. Will definitely be returning!

Good place to stay! $6 all you can eat continental breakfast, free WiFi, conveniently located 10 minutes away from the Erie Convention Center

The hotel itself was extremely beautifully beautiful and was fun to look around in, the only negative was there were no avaliable outlets by the bed, and only a total of 4 through out the entire room.

The hotel is not a brand new hotel, however, the accommodations were clean and fresh. During my stay, the in room refrigerator stopped working. The hotel staffed very quickly corrected the problem without requiring me to re-pack my things and change rooms. I requested a quiet room which they accommodated nicely. From the repair staff to the manager, the employees at the hotel are more professional than staff at other 5 star hotels I have stayed in.

My family and I stayed here for a month. The staff was always friendly and attended to all of our needs! The breakfast, restaurant and bar were wonderful. They have an awesome pool, our kids loved it! Our rooms were comfortable and always clean. Location is perfect, close to the beach and Waldameer, downtown Erie, Millcreek Mall, Airport and I-79. Could not have picked a better place to stay! Thank you for your hospitality!!

Good hotel. Beds a little harder than preferred but still slept well. Breakfast is NOT free. About $6.50 for the breakfast buffet. Internet worked well enough.

A nice hotel close to the water and waldameer park the rooms are pretty clean but the beds are a little hard and u have to pay for breakfast which is not that good but overall the service was nice the staff were nice and helpful

Ok so the rooms are very outdated and smelled of cigars and cheap booze. The room was musty. The place its self looked sketchy with a pinp mobile sitting in the parking lot. The only nice thing i can say really was the pool was large and the hotel has a good cheif. Staff was ok the night staff was kich friendlier than the morning staff. Overall wouldnt return.

I visited the Clarion hotel because my father was visiting from Texas and he was staying there over the holidays. We gathered in the restaurant for a small gift exchange and a late lunch and a few drinks. The wait staff was very friendly and the service was very fast. There was somehow a mix up with our food order as we got way more food than we ordered. I believe the hotel ended up comping the extra food due to the confusion. Very nice since the amount of food we actually got would have been very expensive.

This hotel was adequate. I felt safe and comfortable in the room. Housekeeping was sometimes touch-and-go and the door to the room was a bit sticky. Other than that, my stay at the Clarion Hotel Lake Erie was great.

Great Place, 2 minutes away from all the fun and excitment that the town has to offer. Sadly the town it's self is somewhat run down making this place stick out, in that "its too nice to be here" kind of way. The inside has like any typical hotel/motel set up with TV, mini fridge, coffee/tea, etc. They also have dressing rooms, fitness centers, inside pool, hottub, and more. So its a nice touch to finish the night with.

Would I recommend it to a friend? Yes.

This hotel's best feature is its location! So close to the beaches and convenient to restaurants, etc. Also, it has an indoor pool...which is nice with kids because you have a backup plan in case of bad weather.
The staff is friendly enough, but the rooms are just adequate. The TV's seem updated, but literally everything else seems to be from when the building was built. Our room had a fridge/microwave, but they weren't great. The fridge kept things chilled, but the freezer didn't work well. And the microwave didn't work at all.
Really though, this hotel was fine for the price...just wish they'd update a little, and maybe include breakfast like most hotels do now.

The staff at the front desk was very helpful and super nice, the gentlemen who worked the front for the breakfast was really nice, the breakfast was ok for the 5.00 but I do agree with a lot of people's comments that most hotels offer what they did free. The room was nice but no fan in the bathroom and the bathroom was really small. I happened to use the women's restroom that in the hallway across from the restaurant and it smelled so bad. The hotel is a little out dated with the decor but the price for the rooms and the location it is to Presque it is definitely worth the money. The pool was very clean and I loved how it was located and in all the times I stayed at different hotels in never once seen any maintenance done on the pools like they do at the one. They are always making sure that the pool is checked and taken care of. The next trip I take up there I will definitely be staying there again. Also I ordered the "comet" as a night treat for the kids and I and it was absolutely amazing, I would stay there again just for that, freshly made funnel cake, vanilla ice cream and raspberry sauce.

We eat here all the time, food and drinks are great, ask for Joe!

Hot breakfast should always be included in the price in order to stay competitive with other chains. Staff are always polite and respectful. Was very clean. We observed staff wiping down handrails in stairwells, and thought that was a good indication of the management, and staff ensuring the sanitary conditions in a widely used space.

It's not the Trump tower but I stayed at several motels in Erie. The Clarion Is very nice motel. The folks are great. Stayed several times during steelhead fishing spring and fall. Amenities include great coffee, Restaurant, bar, pool, clean room,s, TV with good selection of channels. Although, we only had coffee in the morning. The clarion is nice as the comfort inn on 12 th street for the money. I also stayed at several other motels in Erie. If traveling with family you can't go wrong with any choice Motel for the money. My sister works for comfort inn and says it's a great company. I stayed at 2-3 star motels but this is a solid 3.5 -4 for the money. Thanks to the friends and family rate it helps.

The indoor pool was the best part of this hotel...
Our room smelled moldy, the level of cleanliness was mediocre at best, and our fridge barely kept things cold. This hotel is overpriced for what you get for sure. The hallways are dark, and the place desperately needs an update. Breakfast isn't even included, it's an additional $5/person per day!
