Colmar Tropicale

Berjaya Hills Colmar Tropicale Resort is the unique French themed attraction at Bukit Tinggi Resort. It stands two thousand and seven hundred feet above sea level on eighty acres of natural forestland. The first of its kind in Malaysia it is modelled after the sixteenth century Colmar Village in Alsace and France and has retained the authenticity and European feel of its counterpart. An ideal variety of accommodations are yours to choose. the vibrant comfortable and warm French village suites are spaced all around the famous Colmar Square the Cobblestone Courtyard and ranging from superior room to four bedroom suites complete with the facilities like individually controlled air conditioning and TV and phone and mini-bar and hair dryer and coffee and tea making facilities and other amenities. Nothing much to see. Just some site with colonial building structure which is a resort on a mountain. Access into this mountain site is charged per adult is at RM 14 from the drive point during the weekend. There is a resort on this mountain. Access to this mountain is by road and there is no public transportation available to come up here. Parking here is available in the hotel covered car park. Temperature is cool on a right weather. There is also a Japanese village garden and botanical garden at site where access are already included in the earlier fare. Nothing interesting to see basically, just for photography sessions.

Pretty garbage to be honest. It's inspired by European town but look closely and you'll notice the place is not maintained well, most lifts were out of service, garbage were common, hedges and bushes are not trimmed properly, water fountain not in use any longer, place is not properly lit, food and drinks in stall taste terrible and overpriced. Thinking of coming here to beat the heat? The weather still feels toasty at 29c. There's no good reason to come up here purposefully.

This is a great place to escape the urban crowd and heats. The entrance fee to the resort is MR14 per adult. There are couple nice restaurants up there. CAUTION: if you are coming to this place by taxi, plan your return in advance. Do not depend on the random taxis because they may not be around when you need them. The resort can provide you a taxi in 40 minuets which will cost you MR200 per person.

Colmar Tropicale has seen better days. French themed but looks more of a facade and lacks atmosphere. Place hasn't been kept well and looks tired and worn. Good choice of restaurants but average in taste. Staff are friendly. Room was clean but very tired looking. The corridors leading to rooms are claustrophobic, dark and more like being in a car park. There are some other attractions like Japanese tea garden, botanical garden. Don't think it's worth a second visit though

Excellent French theme hotel. Easily accessible via shuttle from KL. Driving is easy too with 2 level of sheltered parking lots Rooms have seen better days but it's still reasonable comfortable. Exceptionally impressed by receptionist Mark & Adrian. Their level of service added stars to this old hotel.

Not a bad place for a weekend escape. Rooms are big at a good price. You get good views and fresh air. The place is nicer at night! Complimentary breakfast served is very good with a wide variety of choices but my advise is to order from their Malaysian dish menu if you are at the same restaurant for lunch. The burger is not good. Japanese Garden is worth going for a visit.

The resort has a French theme with a chateau like architecture. Inside this resort, there is a vibrant colourful market bustling with people. Crowds gather here during weekends and public holidays to see this resort, which is one of the major attractions in the area. There are some bakeries here which serve average breads and coffee. Some souvenir shops also exist where one can make their own souvenirs. The resort is beautifully located in Bukit Tinggi.

A French Colonial style concept about 45 minutes from KL..

Offers some nice eateries with a decent price..

Pretty much a really nice place to relax and wind down with the family..

Enjoyed my stay very much..

I didn't stay there for the night. But the common ground was really great. There are several vintage-feel restaurants with the vintage furnitures also and you can take a lot of photos there. Hard to search for a ride though.

Been here once and quite enjoy it. Didn't visit again.

Pros: The picture that we took in front of the main entrance is still as stunning and as beautiful as ever.
There is a pair of funny horses at the gate.

Cons: There are other activities in the park but at the time we only plan for the resort. In the resort itself, we only done sight-seeing. It's not a big place.

I just love the place.but people who are planing to go very important to make sure your return transportation first bcoz there is no grab or taxi service. Only if you book from hotel lobby but you need to pay so high price. Evening the environment look so stunning and beautiful. Lots of resturant there and they sell different kind of food so you have variety of choices. Hotels are good there.

There's not much to do here except for sightseeing. Great place for couples to hang though. There's also a Japanese Garden but the que to hop on cart was too long to bear, so try not to go during a public holiday or long weekend. Great for a day drive up and down by afternoon or evening but not so great value for money if you spend a night there.

Great place to visit for family and friends. Day trip is fun filled and good for picture taking. The food are delicious and there are group meals which is cheaper.
There are souvenir shops and activities as well but we just decided to stay for the pictorials.
We took grab from batu cave and it costs us 60 ringgit which is a good deal for 4 people.
You can arrange the uber or grab taxi to wait for you and pay double.

If you like to pass a silent night, that's a great place near KL to make a short visit. The place is small but very nice theme is unique in Malaysia. Other then Colmar Tropicale, you can visit Japanese Village theme park, botanical garden, rabbit park and all of theme are very near as well.
Fodd is costly and the quality of the food does not justify the price. It's very bad actually.

I spent 2 days and 1 nights here. The atmosphere is very relaxing, weather is cool and comforting. Its perfect for a getaway. But after the initial exploration, there isn't much else to do. There are performances, which i highly recommend you check ot out.
The rooms are also very specious. All in all i gave it a 4 star for my short but extremely enjoyable stay.

We visited Colmar Tropicale on a weekday just after New year's holiday. There were not many people around. This place has been in operation as a tourist area for years now. But unfortunately, it hasn't been properly maintained. Toilets were really dirty and filthy, with no toilet paper available.
The exterior looks beautiful from far. But on closer look, the paint were all starting to come off and there was nothing new about this place. Lifts were old and my kids were scared to travel in it. Very limited selection of restaurants around with poor food quality and service. The management should focus on cleanliness would make this place better for tourism.

Colmar Tropicale French Theme Resort is a very cool place to visit and a ideal short get away from KL. If you are planning for a short trip, this place is inly about 1hour drive from KL. The rooms, food, places of interest is great. It has a animal farm, Japanese Garden, adventure park as well as a golf course which are great choices for outdoor activities. The services are great especially the massage spa and restaurants. Overall a great and exiciting experience for a short get away. I was there for New Year count down and I have enjoyed myself greatly. If you checked into the hotel, they will waive rm15 off your entrance fees too.

Had a one day trip to Colmar Tropicale. It was easily accessible from Karak highway from KL and was only a 50 minutes drive. The roads up the hill was well maintained. The entrance fee was RM 15 per person. The resort itself however was not very well maintained. Some roofs were black and the floors were black with mould too. The shops were also quite empty and quiet. There was also a Japanese themed village which can be accessed with a free bus transfer.

Good place to visit together with family or couple. Only problem is they have to improve the breakfast menu and the service... No breads and plate 9am onwards for so long.. Maybe peak season and low man power. Room cleanliness need to improve also.

A very unique place to go. Old hotel but good maintenance, quite clean and spacious family room, good water pressure.Breakfast is good, limited selection of restaurants for lunch and dinner and the price is very expensive.Overall nice short getaway but with some improvement the experience would be more pleasant and better. Staff very helpful and friendly. During peak season, better to book the room 2 weeks earlier, no walk-in.

This place is awesome. Stayed there to experience both day and nite time. The room was okay. I think it needs to be renovated a little bit. Breakfast was nice. Many food choices. Arrived there after raining in the evening, and left the area into a cold foggy misty nite, with those string lights all over the place and giant Christmas tree right at the centre of the resort....very cool...loved it so much! Foods are expensive and you have no choice but buy it because it's a resort, no other shops/restaurants around, unless you have cars to go out from that area. Best to bring your own food, drinks and snacks there. Instant noodle might do 😊, they have electric kettle in the room.

Nice cool place in the mountains. Staff are friendly. Buildings are quite worn down. Breakfast spread was ok but food are all cold very fast as the trays are not closed up. People take the food and leave the tray cover open. Staff should go around closing the trays. There's a stage performance and it's very nice.

This is a very colourful and lively resort with French style alley which has shops and restaurants typically built in French architecture.
One can visit this alley (free of cost) and take numerous pics even if you are not a guest of the resort. There's a tower in this alley which overlooks the beautiful valley and golf course. If you are fit enough, then it's recommended to climb this 3 stories tower and have a good look at the breathtaking view.

The place Colmar Tropicale is a replica of a French town hence the French architecture n atmosphere. It was a nice visit as it was cool n buildings n cafe's had French architecture n feel to it. There's mostly restaurants here, a stage for perfoming arts n shows, a hotel, small children's entertainment center, an arcade, 6d cinema or booth, a souvenir shop n at the very end are 3 funfare style games corners, there's also a street musician who randomly walks the street to entertain guests, I saw him actually hanging around one particular restaurant. There's also other activities, however further away from here, the other 2 main attractions are Japanese village n rabbit farm.

It's a great effort to model it like a french village, cool temperature and the performance makes it life like. the castle bridge and the swam complete the feeling. Although we visit during off peak period, the place looks a little dead, the room is big but poorly maintained. Mosquito abound, insecticide smell is blocking the natural air. We drove up to the japanese garden for a visit, steep climb but manageable, very good feeling and tranquil, good place to seat and laze around, if not for the crowd. Maybe visiting during peak season will be better, stage performance 4 times a day of dances, otherwise just walking around. One day stay is more than enough though.

I really like this place. Beautiful scenery, nice and cool and just a very pleasant and relaxing place to be. If you want excitement then this isn't really it. It takes a bit of effort to get here but a lovely feeling to finally arrive.
Yes, there's room for improvement. The rooms are a bit tired looking but large, clean enough and quite adequate. The resteraunts are limited and pricey but the highway isn't so far and there's a nice foodcourt just a few miles along the highway towards KL. The breakfast is good.
Get a room facing away from the inner courtyard for even more quiet, the golf course views are fantastic.
The entertainment is basic but light hearted and enjoyable. There's a nice pool and some beautiful walks. I find it really relaxing and quite tranquil.

Room Fuschia 6308. Spacious room. Spacious living room. Spacious bathroom. Well laid out design. Warmly decorated. Small and dimly lit kitchen area. One air con in living room not working. Leaking toilet. Multiple faulty power outlets. Power tripped once; perhaps due to heater, hair dryer and air con overload.

I stayed at the hotel for a day. There was not much to see in this French Village, it was small. But there are a few cool attractions like arcade room, gymnastic show, swans, Japanese Garden and Animal Park. I like that they provide free shuttle bus service to go to Japanese Garden and Animal Park. The employees were friendly and helpful. There are too many people here, don't expect to get a nice place to relax and chill. The food are too expensive. The price of ice cream were doubled compared to KL. If you want to enjoy without wasting money, bring your own food and cook in your room.

An hour drive from KL, nice to visit here around 10 am -12 pm in the afternoon. Make sure you take car rental from KL, or shuttle bus from Berjaya Times Square, but usually fully booked during weekend. Getting around only need 2-3 hours max, except you have plan to stay over night.

Lovely cool climate compared to KL. The area is actually nicely looked after. A great getaway from the heat. Fantastic areas around the resort.

The resort has swimming pools, fitness centre, spa and a number of restaurants. Other activities available such as paintball, horse riding, flying fox. Don't forget to visit the Japanese tea house and botanical gardens - definitely a must!

Downsides: Hotel rooms not as clean and looked after as expected. Cockroaches in bathroom - this should have been taken care of with a resort of this type. Also, food not exactly as French as it should be!!

Bring your own snacks and water. Water definitely overpriced here.

The place is nice and quiet but it's better to come here with your own vehicle. It is wag far from the city. If you don't have a ride. Book for a taxi and ask them to wait for you. It would take around 100 to 200RM depending on your agreement with the driver. When we visited the place we booked an Uber car and paid almost 200RM

Had a nice evening with cool weather. Certain could feel the Christmas atmosphere with all the deco around. Dinner price was mid-high but was satisfied with the food.
Family friendly with entertainment outlets and stalls that offered some shopping.
The upkeep of the room needs to improve. I had body itch which caused most likely by bed bugs.

The hotel seems lacking in staff. If compared to Sunway Resort and Spa, the service level at Colmar Tropicale is like heaven and earth respectively.

We ordered an in-dining meal (wanton noodle). Seriously, it was the first time we were served wanton noodle without the wanton. Did they forget the wanton?

We called the room service asking them of the missing main ingredient. They came back (with no words of apology) with a bowl of minced chicken meat instead.

So that was our wanton noodle.

Next evening''s dinner was at Le Blason; it comprised of a pathetic spread. We were at the restaurant at 6.30pm and the food was already cold. I guessed they prepared the food hours ago and didn't even bother to heat up the food.

It is our first and last visit to Colmar Tropicale. Some websites rated it is a 4-star hotel in which we find it to be grossly overrated. 2-star at its best.

The only saving grace for the hotel is the excellent view from our bedroom. Thus the 2-star rating. (If not, they will probably get 1-star.)

By the way, no teaspoons available at the rooms and Le Blason restaurant. We were given plastic stirrers to go along with cups and saucers. We wondered what is happening at Colmar Tropicale.

This french themed resort has lots of good photo spots. Don't forget to visit the swans and have a coffee there. The only thing that i hope they could improve is:

1. Increase the size of the walking streets. Currently the walking street is only 1 short street with limited things to see. We spent the max of 2 hours including lunch here.

2. More attractions. there's nothing much here, except the shows and shops here and there.
