It's nice. However, I've been in other Marriott's that have been cleaner and nicer. This one has a good location with easy access go the beach.

Room was nice but the bathroom needed work. The bathtub was awful! The tub was chipped and old looking. The balcony was old and needs work. The furniture on the balcony was cheap and uncomfortable. The outdoor pool was like the tub and balcony, in need of work. It was also closed for "maintenance" for 2 days during our visit. The service was great. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The location was also nice, right on the beach, near restaurants.

Our stay was absolutely perfect!! Rooms were nice and clean. Location was perfect! It was directly on the beach with the boardwalk in between. The view was awesome as well.

Recently updated rooms make this beach front hotel a great addition to the Marriott brand. Excellent boardwalk right outside leading to loads of fun things to see and do. Beach is large and clean. You can tell a lot about a property by its staff. The area suffered a power outage as we are checking in. Staff immediately jumped into actin handing out water and compassionately communicating directly with guest. Impressive compassion.

The overall experience was great! All of the staff is welcoming and friendly. Sara especially paid attention to our needs and made us feel heard and welcome.

Our family had a great time here this month. We were greeted by Tasia, who was nothing but kind. We had encountered a small issue with our reservation and she immediately had it worked out in no time. Our room was very clean and there was so much available on site if you forgot something.

Everything was great except they don't accept CASH. where I come from CASH is Gold. Otherwise it's great if you have kids. Straight access to Carolina Beach Boardwalk. Own entrance to ocean. Indoor and outdoor pools. Indoor Hot tub, fitness center.

We always enjoy our trips to Carolina Beach, the stay at Courtyard by Marriott is ideal. Perfect location, beach access, great pools and right beside the boardwalk so there is plenty for the kids to do in the evenings. Also within walking g distance if some wonderful restaurants. We will be back next year.

The room was clean and the view/location was awesome. We checked in on Tuesday (7-24) night and Debra was the lady who helped us. We had an issue and Debra went over and beyond to help us. She was a breath of fresh air after a very stressful evening. Not only was she hospitable, she took the time to talk and get to know us. This was our first time staying in Carolina Beach and we really enjoyed it. They have a beautiful dock so you can enjoy a walk along the beach. It's truly a lovely oceanfront hotel.

Aside from the guy playing electric guitar in front of the hotel at 5:30 a.m. on a Friday morning, this place was pretty nice. I'm certain this was a one-off occurrence. I really have no idea what people are thinking when they do things like this. He had an amp and a speaker. I mean WTH? I shined a high-powered flashlight at him from the third floor and he waved at me and turned it down. But seriously, why would you do this? Anyway, the hotel has great access to the beach, a Starbucks, and lots of shops within walking distance. The rooms were nice, clean, quiet and the staff was friendly. We did have an issue with our door key losing its memory or something and could not get into a room on the second try. But the staff resolved it. All in all a good experience at a hotel near the beach. Often hotels can be total dumps at the beach, but this one was pretty nice.

Stayed here many times over the years. The new renovations give the hotel a fresh new look. All rooms have a gorgeous view of the ocean. Conveniently located at the end of the boardwalk, this really is the best place to vacation at Carolina Beach!

I had my daughter’s wedding there and it was wonderful. Taylor made everything run so smoothly. She was everywhere making sure everything was just right. She went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Staff and food excellent. Courtyard Marriott in Carolina Beach is the best.

I just had my wedding here, the venue was absolutely stunning. Taylor, the guy with the beard, and the young lady up front were extremely kind and understanding. Joe, the night time guy was so helpful with getting our flowers out late. Bryan made things a breeze for us, along with Tamara and the other event ladies. Thank you for making our day wonderful.

The best part about the Courtyard by Marriott at Carolina Beach is that it's positioned RIGHT on the beach. You literally can walk out of the hotel and walk 50 yards to the sandy waters edge into the Atlantic. It's a great view (if you get the right room). Whether you're looking at people lounge below in the pool, watch folks jog on the wooden boardwalk that runs parallel to the shore or watching couples stroll hand in hand as the run rises and sets, there are probably no better views in town. Also, during the summer (roughly June 1- Sept 1) on Thursdays, there is a live band and an amazing fireworks show at 9pm that is amazing to watch from your balcony. It was stunning and just mere feet away from us. It was not a tiny production either. It was truly awesome so make sure you catch that. Also worth noting is that the guest bedrooms have been updated in probably the last three years (currently June 2018), if I had to guess. Decent beds, updated flat screens and modern lighting are the highlights of the room. I rather enjoyed the staff (front desk and housekeeping staffs alike) there during the day, all very warm and welcoming. Food is available for delivery from several restaurants around town but I was a big fan of the hot, fried seafood from Bowman's. Those comments are the best ones that I can make concerning Courtyard by Marriott at Carolina Beach. Now, the opportunities for improvement follow. The hotel really could make some further updates to drive their customer base ...and revenues higher. For starters, the guest room bathrooms are very dated. I'm talking old Toto toilets, chipped & mold stained white (now look ivory due to aging) tiles in the shower, dingy tubs ...and non temperature controlled water flows make for a tough go after the toilet flushes should you be washing your hands or taking a shower because you will most certainly be scalded! Last, the interior pool and hot tub are nice to have but the chlorine is so strong that you couldn't stay in here more than five minutes. Those need to be updated too but should not be scrapped, it's not a common amenity at a beach hotel. Carolina Beach, NC was an interesting location. It's a bit sleepy and run down that could use alot of attention and reinvestment. Even the locals look like living there is a grind. I hope they get that much needed cash infusion because the area has so much potential.

The location of this hotel makes it worth the dollars. Ocean front view with balcony. There is a beautifully lit boardwalk that runs the length of the shore. Indoor and outdoor pools with jacuzzi. Plenty of local stores, restaurants, bars and other hotels in walking distance. They offer rentals as well like bicycles. I'm giving a 5 star mainly because of the location and the awesome boardwalk. I went to the beach in the spur of the moment and got a ocean side room on the top floor right next to the elevator. It was a great place to stay.

I love staying here. All rooms are oceanfront so you have an incredible view every morning noon and night. Rooms are comfortable and staff is always very friendly. I recommend it to anyone

Wonderful experience, except the $75 parking ticket I got. Super great staff, clean rooms with a great view. Easy pool and beach access. Oh and if you forgot your sun glasses, ask the front they will give you a free pair to save the day!

Excellent hotel right on the beach! We stayed at this Marriott for 5 days. The room was extremely clean when we checked in and their housekeeping made sure to bring it back to that standard every day. The view of the ocean/beach was beautiful - we even saw dolphins! The decor and furniture were newer and nice and the bed was very comfortable. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and I want to especially thank Brian Coffman for his help in making sure we had a fantastic vacation. I would definitely stay here again!

Definetly a must stay when visiting Carolina Beach. All rooms are ocean front which makes all the difference in the world. Staff is super friendly and rooms were also very clean and spacious. Out you door and just a few feet away is the strip as well as the boardwalk so you are within walking distance to eateries, shops and entertainment. My family enjoyed our stay and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

During this time that kids were out on summer vacation, the pool was extremely crowded and there were usually hordes of people waiting for the elevator. The water from the faucet tasted terrible, so be sure to bring your own bottled water. The mini convenience store in the lobby was useful with an array of snacks. Last summer, I came by and the place was very worn out. Most recently, we returned after renovations (new carpet, furnishings, wallpaper, etc) and are glad to revise the rating. Everything looks great and the staff is very kind and welcoming. The salad from the cafe was excellent and much better than expected from a hotel lobby too. Will definitely return!

It was very refreshing to be treated so well by wonderful employees. The surroundings were certainly beautiful but the staff was amazing!!

Our first encounter was with Anton who arranged our stay and made sure we had a beautiful room. It was so nice to have someone go above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. He made us feel as every guest should feel….important. A great personality, genuine kindness, and competence is a wonderful combination. Thanks Anton!

Our weekend started when we were greeted by name when we came into the lobby by Carrie. What a nice surprise!! She was helpful, so friendly and made us feel right at home. We felt like part of the family and knew that she would be there if we needed anything! Thanks Carrie!

Lastly, our housekeeper Dawn, left a personal, handwritten note on the bed letting us know that she was glad we were there and to let her know if we needed anything!! I had never seen that done in any hotel and I was really impressed with her taking time to hand write a note!! That was definitely a wonderful gesture and a real personal touch. Thanks Dawn!!

Marriott should be proud to have employees who so obviously take pride in their jobs and in the personal attention they give to their guests. This, alone, makes this hotel a pretty special place.

Nicely newly renovated. The upper floors have an incredible seaside view. Everyone was friendly and helpful. There's a little convenience store area downstairs, and both an indoor and outdoor pool.

Very nice hotel right on the beach. Also right on the Carolina Beach board walk. Quick walk to many shops, restaurants, and attractions. Nice big spacious rooms. Clean and well maintained. Hotel currently being renovated, so some areas are inaccessible or closed.

Hotel was currently under renovations with several floors closed. Workers worked all day long with quite a bit of noise. Only one elevator was functional which led to long wait times to go to and from your room. On last day of stay lobby bathrooms were out of order and you had to go to the 4th floor to a hotel room to use the restroom. My room was fine as far as accommodations but my toilet had issues with the water running constantly. When I checked the toilet reservoir I discovered a can of snuff blocking the plunger operation! This hotel may be great once they are done with their work but currently I cannot recommended it to anyone.

Great location, great price and well-maintained facilities! It is probably due for an update/remodel. But, it's still a very comfortable place to stay and a great representation of Marriott's brand.

My mom, my aunt, my daughter, and myself had a girls weekend at the Courtyard by Marriott in Carolina Beach. They were doing renovations, but it was surprisingly peaceful. The staff were all really friendly. The rooms were really comfortable. They have a lovely little bistro in the lobby, and offer a well stocked breakfast buffet. They also have an indoor pool and hot tub, and a small gym. Everything was clean, everyone was lovely.

We had our wedding here October 7! Nellie, Nicole and Brian were awesome. Nellie went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect. We're so thankful for the staff that made our reception beautiful and made our guest feel at home. The food was spectacular! Everything was! If you're looking to have your wedding somewhere on the beach, I would highly recommend it. Thank you to all the employees at the Courtyard Marriot, but a huge thank you to Nellie, Nicole, Brian and the head chef! You guys deserve a raise.

However, more recently, I went there and was dismayed at how worn out the hotel looked in a matter of 3 years. The lobby seemed beat from all the foot traffic, carpet was noticeably worn out or torn in some parts, and hallways smelled musty and like mildew even though it had not been raining. I guess this place is so popular that they can still charge close to $300 or even more per night, while the guests wear out the facilities. Hope they will be making renovations pronto, in which case I would be glad to return.

Room was nice, as we had a good view of the beach. Short walk to the beach and to the boardwalk. Staff was excellent and the indoor pool was great as we arrived at sundown. The pull out couch bed was broken in couple of spots but still usuable. Would not expect that for the price we paid.

We stayed here for two night a few weeks ago. It was a nice place love the pool and the ocean view from are room was nice. Didn't like the price we had to pay for breakfast I paid over $600 for 2nights thought breakfast would have been free. But with that said it was a wonderful place we will go back just know to get food elsewhere.

Our room was really clean, it was big enough for me and my two kids and we had a great view of the ocean. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The employee's were very nice and helpful. And it's close to everything. We enjoyed our weekend stay here. I definitely recommend staying here.

This is our third year vacationing in Carolina Beach and staying at The Courtyard. You really can't beat the location, as it is conveniently located to nearly everything you need. The front desk staff is great - always available and helpful. Housekeeping this week was a bit off and had to make some calls for minor fixes, but overall happy. They begin a renovation this winter, which is definitely due. Hoping they might add a service elevator to make guest elevator service better. We will definitely plan on returning.

Great hotel, unbeatable location right on the Carolina Beach boardwalk with spectacular ocean front beach views. Clean rooms and lobby, staff is extremely friendly and professional. Many bars, restaurants in walking distance. No issues while there - one recommendation - have better chairs out on the the room patio - the ultra cheap plastic ones really need to be upgraded. Other than that, we will absolutely come back, our new go to beach place.

My first time staying here and unfortunately will be the last. We had a run in with bed bugs at another Marriott location. Thinking they'd be willing to find another hotel and honor the previous hotel pricing, we called to see what vacancies there were. Very few options other than 15-20 miles from the beach since it was Friday night and peak vacation season. There was one room @ Marriott Courtyard Carolina Beach. When we walked in, the front desk assistant manager (Travis) was far from helpful. The folks @ Marriott informed me that we 'would' be able to get a comparable rate given our situation. This hotel didn't care. They didn't care to hear my story. After several hours of travel, my two young children and my wife, paid an additional $400 to stay here for two nights. $400...due to bed bugs at another hotel under the same brand.

As the other reviews mention, the only reason this hotel gets the traffic is due to location. It isn't very clean and the rooms had a bad odor.

We stay here on a business trip ,hubby was working most of the time but I really enjoyed the hotel. This hotel is very close to the beach and the boardwalk so you can walk to everything going on. I only spent a very limited time at the pool but it seemed nice and clean,mostly kids all the time it looked like. There are rental in the lobby for umbrellas and chairs that seemed reasonable. I ordered oatmeal from the restaurant the morning I left and it was very good. The cleaning staff was great and very accommodating in every way. We stayed 4 nights and I let them clean twice but the other days they offered anything I may need. Great location and price if you book a good bit in advance as it gets expensive like anywhere the last minute. Parking was also very easy. I never did find a cart the morning which was Sunday so I had to make several trips, I think they were being hoarded. Can't forget the spectacular display of fireworks every Thursday night they do...wow it was great. I would rate this hotel a 4 as I think it could use a little updating but would definitely stay again because of location.

We had a king room with sleep sofa and balcony Ocean view room. Walking into the hotel, you an smell the chlorine and the floors and hallways were very dirty. I was happy to have a clean bed, heavily bleached from the smell of it, but I will take that over not clean. The bathroom was clean. The rest of the room was pretty nasty. Disgusting carpet, old torn and worn upholstery on sleep sofa. There was no way my son was going to open that and sleep on it. Both pools were cloudy and dirty. Overall what was important was clean but I couldn't help but feel a little icky. I understand you pay top dollar for location, but for that amount of money I want my room to be clean as well. The hotel needs a makeover.

Great location. Staff is very friendly. Property just needs an upgrade which I think is coming soon. Stuff that should work isnt, so the higher Marriott price is harder to justify. Elevators not working intermittently, the outdoor showers and foot sprayers coming off the beach, etc. Perfect for families though, the Boardwalk is next door with rides, shopping, bars and restaurants. If they do remodel we will definitely be back.

We ate in the restaurant and absolutely loved the food. A nice selection of Salads and sandwiches. We have stayed in the hotel overnight before and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The best place to stay in Carolina Beach!

Hotel was ok. Breakfast was not included for $260 per night, which is too bad. The suite has plenty of cabinet space in the kitchenette, but no utensils or dishware at all. One of the AC units made a strange sound all the time.

This place is amazing! As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the front desk and they were so helpful. The rooms are spacious and the beds are so comfortable. We will definitely be staying here again.

My stay was off season for a conference and I must admit, I liked the slower pace of the off season. nice and easy walk out to the beach, enjoyed the lobby. just a good general feel about the place. i would book there again

Night staff was amazing. They told us where to go for good food and gave us some great pointers. During the day pool was out of clean towels - so we had to leave later than we planned

I was here for my fraternity formal and the location to the beach was prime. The service was excellent in working to keep our group of 50 together as best as possible and the rooms were beautiful and comfortable. The beach-facing balcony provided a great spot to take pictures as well as enjoy the sunset and sunrise while enjoying a nice drink. I was very pleased with the experience this weekend at the hotel.

Pretty good hotel, all the rooms gave the ocean. The desk staff are super nice. The cafe hours are pretty limited for the off season though.

Room was nice, not perfect by any means but nice. They do need to update thier website as it indicated we would have a microwave in a deluxe room, but when inquiring we were told only the suites ever had a microwave. It is very conveniently located to the boardwalk and many restaurants and shops in walking distance. It has Starbucks and a bistro on site. The amenities are all here, indoor pool with hot tub, nice big outdoor pool, great Beach access. Seems to have ample parking but it's not peak season now. This is my second visit. I think we expected the microwave the first time too, so they really need to fix that on thier website!

Clean rooms and nice amenities . What really made the stay was the workers. Our keys kept getting whipped out by my magnetic wallet and they didn't bat an eye Everytime they had to fix it. Greg their maintenance guy is top notch friendly and really went out of his was to make us feel at home. If it wasn't for the tool bag I could have easily mistaken him for guest services Manager ! The views are amazing too !

Love this hotel. Comfy, clean, great staff. In door and out door pool, hot tub, gym, Star Bucks coffee, restaurants with a buffet breakfast. It's a very short walk to the beach and every room is ocean view with a little patio. Prefect for 2 chairs and watching the sun rise and the dolphins playing!

I love this hotel. The staff is always very friendly. The food is good from their little cafe restaurant inside and they are right on the beach. They do need better ventilation in the pool that inside though. It is very strong in chlorine and hot from the steam of the hot tub.

We were there for a wedding....beautiful. They were very accommodating to all out of town guests. Ocean view - amazing. Everyone at the hotel are very friendly. Access to restaurants and shopping - all within walking distance.

Once I'd have given 4-5 stars but the courtyardization where they remodeled the joint reduced the level of service and seem to reduced the number of old-timers made it something less than what it was. There is no 'business hotel' on the beach branding scheme be dammed. Still, a Marriott with all beachfront rooms is a great place to spend your points at. And fundamentally it is still a nice place.

I love the Carolina Beach Marriott! I stay there often when I am in town. Not only that but this year I am having my wedding there and they have been super helpful this entire time. The sales manager and coordinator have been awesome but on top of that the General Manager Kyle has just been super kind and very helpful! 5 stars all the way for the hotel itself and its staff!

The rooms are typical of most hotels at NC beaches. Not awesome, not bad. There is no safe in the room but there are deposit boxes at the desk.

The hotel was being renovated while we were there. There had been a fire and there was some water damage. They did lower our nightly rate proactively due to the construction.

The biggest problem was the noise at night. We were on the second floor facing the (small) pool. There was music outside almost all night, either from the pool or the little bar next door. Rough night. Our phone was broken too. Couldn't call down to find out if it could be shut off. Ended around 3:00 a.m.

Just awesome. Super friendly and accommodating crew. They just cater to you. Extremely clean. Can't wait to come back. Parking is a little tricky as it fills quickly. It's central to everything. Love this place.

Stayed at the Marriott Courtyard in Carolina Beach and we were very pleased with the service. The front desk were very helpful and very accomodating so I booked another 2 days for Christmas eve.

The decor seemed dated but otherwise everything seemed clean and fresh. The bed faced the sunrise making for a beautiful morning, especially with the patio door cracked to hear the sound of the waves.

Location is awesome! You can walk to restaurants within the area or choose to dine in. Did I mention Starbucks in the hotel?! Nice aquarium down the street and also a state park! The rooms are great, stayed in a double queen with the family. The rooms are all ocean front. Great pool but the indoor could be alittle better. The room service is also great.

Went for a wedding and due to people not staying for the 2 nights that were supposedly required they were given away on the wedding night including the bride and grooms room when the reception and everything was being held at the hotel. Should have never happened & didn't even put them in another room when there were some available so the family had to do some adjusting of their own. The food was also coming out cold at the reception, but the wait staff was awesome in getting it fixed and compensating at that time.
