Room was fine. Neat and clean. Love the location and the views.
The three stars are for the service at the bar. We went down for an evening drink out on the patio and asked if the bar was open. The bar tender said that it was but the kitchen was not. This was fine. We ordered our drinks and after 30 minutes, we still did not have our drinks.
The bar tender was not around. When she finally showed up, she said she was looking for the key. I ordered brandy and it was served in a glass that water would be served in. I asked for a brandy snifter and she didn't even know what that was. The next morning before we checked out, we went for a cappucino and it was the same person and she served us a cup full of foam. She was not very pleasant. Hotel nice. Bar staff NOT.

Very beautiful well kept hotel. Amazing view. The pool is warm and clean, although their hot tub was empty and out of service when I went. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. Do be aware that there is NO complementary coffee or breakfast, which is very disappointing for the price of the rooms.

This is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed. The staff here have been wonderful since we checked in, especially the Bell Hop named Derrek. He was so kind and helpful from the moment we pulled in the parking lot and throughout our visit thus far. The maintenance team is great as well. We had an issue with our refrigerator not working. Maintenance was in our room within minutes changing it out. The view of the Ashley River from our room is breathtaking. Also nice is the huge swimming pool right next to the river. I will definitely be staying here again our next visit to Charleston!

Understaffed Bristol Sunday night. Poor guys didn't have time to serve drinks at the bar. Waited 20 minutes before complaining to the front desk. Asked the front desk if Hilton Garden which shares the driveway has a restaurant or bar? I was told they wouldn't serve us unless we had a room. Not the case, fast, friendly service, good food and drinks. No long lines. Very disappointing too witness the guests at Courtyard becoming frustrated due to poor management. Also elevators are extremely slow.

Beautiful area and hotel. The front desk gave great recommendations for places to eat, beaches, and even parking for around town. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because the ac struggled to get the room cool due to a couch being right in front of it. We ended up moving the couch, and it helped tremendously. I would definitely stay again.

Overall a great place to stay. Nice room with comfy beds. Free dinner and drinks on the weeknights. Great view of the marina. Unfortunately the hot tub was out of order and we had some issues with the TV. Would recommend.

On the water, close to everything but nestled off to the side. Great multi level deck and pool. Comfortable outside cushy seating. Big dock and a great view. Great trendy eatery in Lobby/deck with live music from Joe Tedesco, a local artist, who tied the whole experience together. Seaside fun and Sun with singing and dancing! I love this place.

We witnessed entire Marriott team go out their way to ensure a positive stay. Everyone we met was genuinely courteous. High five to team! Props to Eddie who will hook you up with insightful recommendations. Free shuttle a plus.

We are enjoying our week here at the Marriott Charleston Waterfront. The harbor view is gorgeous and the downtown shuttle is a definite bonus. OK I originally gave this place a 5 star but had to edit to 4 stars because the fire alarm went off twice today. They said it was a fire drill to "keep us safe" but, my beef with that is that they did not notify us in advance. Put the guests in a panic because of their poor organization.

Overall, a nice hotel for using reward points in Charleston. A few minor inconveniences: the air conditioner in the room doesn't really cool the room to the temperature you set, housekeeping missed a bunch of minor things during our stay, and the TV randomly resets every ~30 minutes. My biggest gripe is that when nearby doors open and close, my door vibrated. So in the northern housekeeping got going, my door also made a lot of noise. The north side of the hotel, while not directly facing the water was still a great view. Parking was easy. Getting to downtown is easy, with the hotel shuttle, free at this point, and the local Charleston free bus routes getting you to downtown and the historical district. Uber rides to everything we're about $7. Considering the other Courtyard Marriott charges $20 a night for parking, I'd stay at this hotel again.

Stayed here in May and forgot to pack a tie for a ceremony I was attending. Staff up front were helpful and manager went the extra mile, giving me one the staff ties to save the day; tie even managed to match my suit. Food was good the night before, as was sitting on a rocket outside on the patio sipping a beer while the sun set. Great hotel!

Top notch hotel and staff! Lately, we've been so disappointed in hotels which haven't been maintained. We were pleasantly surprised to see this hotel was just as great as it was 5 years ago for our daughter's wedding block. Our hotel was room was spacious, clean and had the most incredible view of the water and boats. Jacqueline Mesakauskas (picked up her business card from the front desk) was gracious and did everything she could to make sure that our stay was perfect! Definitely recommend this hotel for Charleston stays!

This location is perfect for beautiful views of the water and is just a short drive from downtown Charleston. The property itself is gorgeous but the guest rooms are on the smaller side. Parking is a little chaotic but the patio overlooking the pool and marina is incredible.

I have stayed here several times. The most recent was for my birthday 9 months ago. I will definitely be back again. I love the view. The staff is courteous, friendly, and professional. I enjoyed the restaurant on site which have delicious food. There's also a shuttle they can take you downtown.

Comfortable waterfront location. Conveniently located near everything downtown. Very well appointed rooms. The Bistro and bar provide excellent food and drinks. Only reason it is not 5 Stars is due to noise above and beside our room most of the night and morning. Still a great place to stay.

Was here for a medical conference and the staff was extremely accommodating. They had multiple drink types for our group set up in the conference room (to include coffee). When we needed another table type for our demo they went out of their way to get us what we needed. I would 100% recommend this venue for other companies and future activities.

This hotel was absolutely beautiful!!!! My company booked my room for one night and I didn't want to leave. The staff were so friendly and helpful and you can't beat those views!!! My room was a lot bigger than I expected it to be and with everything I needed and more! I'd recommend this to anyone and I'll definitely be coming back!

What a beautiful hotel! And on top of it one which is a Courtyard. This place really has it going. Between the updated facility, the gorgeous views, the clean rooms, and the wonderful staff, this may be the best spot in town. We stayed for one night during our first visit to Charleston and absolutely would come back again. Your typical and wonderful Marriott experience, all while at the price of a Courtyard. Can't beat it.

The room was nice and clean. The front desk staff was nice. They had a little parking garage so you didn't have to walk out in the rain. The only issue we had was one elevator was out and the hot water only works for one person.

Nice location with great view of the water front. Pleasant lobby and easy parking with direct access. It is unfortunate the location was under renovation and was not disclosed at check in. Even worse, I was placed into a room immediately adjacent to the construction with a connecting door. The hotel was sparsely occupied and show have blocked the rooms immediately next to the renovation.

Check in and check out was so easy and everyone was so cordial and courteous. Even the gentleman who drove the shuttle to downtown Charleston was incredibly accomodating! Our room was clean and comfortable and the hotel staff on the floors were helpful, also. The young lady who checked us out was so bubbly and vivacious!! We definitely will return!!

We stay in Charleston frequently. This was our first stay at Courtyard by Marriott. It was extremely nice and clean. We especially liked the layout of the hotel and rooms. The rooms were spacious. The beds were comfortable, giving us a good night's sleep. We were greeted with two bottles of water and the famous Charleston Chews sitting on the desk as we entered the door. A small gesture goes a long way. One plus we found was a lot of underneath parking which we've had difficulties with at other hotels in the past. We will be staying at Courtyard by Marriott on our future trips.

Would like to give Mrs Ursula (head of house keeping) big ups and a big Thank You!! She went out of her way for three guys in town on a fishing trip. We were a little cramped in the room we reserved, she noticed and tried to upgrade us w/o hesitation but no luck. She did bring in a roll away cot and left us a nice surprise in the fridge. I did not get to thank her on the way out so thank you! The next time I'm in Charleston in will stay at this Marriott again. She's a wonderful part of their team and hope she is appreciated. The hotel is nice, in a great location and has great views of the river.

This hotel is one of the better more reasonably priced hotels we've stayed at in Charleston. It's 5 minutes away from downtown by car and about 35-40 minutes walking at a strolling pace. The hotel is newly updated, clean, and unique. Great for a overnight stay. I wouldnt say it's the place to stay on a honeymoon however it's perfect for a fun weekend stay. No continental breakfast, but they have a Starbucks that sells decent breakfasts for about 10-12 dollars. Over all I would recommend this place.

Wow! This hotel is amazing. Gorgeous views, amazing and large balconies, a really nice outdoor space where you can watch the boats or just sit and talk. I loved it. The bistro is nice, too, and the staff of friendly. I will definitely stay here again.

We booked months before the eclipse because we wanted to be in Charleston. No idea the hotel was throwing a super fun viewing party! From the time we checked in the entire staff was amazingly helpful and fun. Facilities were great, loved the location. Extra details made the difference from being a decent hotel to having a fab experience. Would for sure stay here again next time I'm in town.

Don't expect to sleep through the day at all. Between the staff yelling, laughing, and slamming doors in the halls, you won't be taking any afternoon naps here. I chose this hotel because of location and availability.
The Bistro Starbucks was more water than coffee. Our room may have been painted recently but the bathroom door would not close from the paint build up and there weren't any trash bags in the cans. The King bed was a giant pillow that made my back hurt but that's my opinion. Enjoy!

6

The staff was friendly enough, but we were celebrating our anniversary and they weren't extremely welcoming. The rooms were clean and nice, but the bed was uncomfortable. We were given a room with a terrible view. Also there was no complimentary coffee in the morning which I have come to expect from Marriott. The location is nice and the outdoor lounge space is beautiful. I just was underwhelmed with everything else.

The room and other facilities were great; everything was newish and clean, and the staff was friendly. We did have several issues, however. Our room was not ready until 30 minutes after the check-in time, and we were lucky. Other members of our large group were unable to check in until after dinner. Once in our room, we discovered that our shower rod was broken. After one night, our trash was only partly removed; our towels, however, were removed with no replacements left behind. When we came in from the pool to shower for dinner, we had no towels in the room and called the front desk. It took over 30 minutes and 3 phone calls to finally get towels delivered. We heard many times during our stay that the hotel was "short staffed" or something to that effect. Clearly they need to remedy this staffing issue.

We setup a wedding block here and had to make several attempts with management to get the group code setup correctly. Our guests were calling the hotel and they were being told that a block was not setup, which was not the case. We spent WAY too much time making sure that our guests would have a room when they checked in for our wedding weekend. We couldn't leave it up to the hotel and trust that everything would be taken care of. Even days before the wedding we were finding issues. Then when all was said and done one of the rooms was incorrectly charged to another guest in our wedding group so once the wedding was all said and done we were STILL having to contact the hotel to get everything straightened out. Be prepared to do a lot of hand holding if you choose to have your guests stay at this hotel.

Hotel was recently remodeled but it was primarily cosmetic. The a/c in the lobby didn't work. The elevator didn't work in the morning. The bed is very very soft. There is no room service and no lunch, but they did add to their dinner menu. Good but small portions. I taught a class in the meeting room and the set up wasn't done properly. They eventually got the set up where it needed to be but considerably than was necessary. That said, all the staff has been friendly and helpful to fix the issues.

Quick check-in, quiet, comfortable rooms. Can hear a very light hum from the nearby highway, but nothing distracting. The balcony view depends heavily on which side of the building your room is on. But we spent our days out in Charleston, so not much of a concern. Breakfast was very light, (cereal, bread, coffee, milk, fruits, hard boiled eggs) but we're told that's temporary until the kitchen is up and running. There's a nice outdoor lounge area and a pool below (but only 3-4ft deep) as well as a fire pit that's usually lit. Overall, a comfortable experience. No real complaints.

Elevator was really slow. The lounge was nice and had a good Continental breakfast spread. The patio was huge! It had a great view of the harbor with rocking chairs, reclining chairs, a pool, hot tub and fire pit all. Great place to bring your drinks from the bar in the lounge. The room was clean and large with black out curtains and great A/C.

The staff was very friendly but the service was extremely slack. They forgot our turn down service and both times when we asked for towels they forgot. The drain in the bathtub always backed up during showering which was gross. The outdoor fireplace was nice. The view is beautiful. The TV operated very slowly like its on some type of delay.

What a great stay! We were upgraded to the suite which was not expected. We did not spend a lot of time in the hotel, as Charleston is such a beautiful place. The room was clean and the staff friendly and knowledgable. Driving in Charleston is not great and this hotel is a decent hike to the historical parts of town. I suggest taking the bus or a ride share to get downtown.

I was in Charleston with friends who had their reception dinner at the Courtyard Charleston Waterfront. What I saw of the hotel was incredibly nice, they have a good location, the staff was very attentive and helpful, the views are amazing (overlooks the yachts in the marina) and the Food Was INCREDIBLE! They prepared a low country boil with shrimp, potato, sausage, and corn. I Had a great time! Although I did not stay in one of their rooms one of the employees mentioned all the rooms had just been renovated. My recommendation is based upon a reception dinner and not an actual stay at the hotel as I only attended a reception there.

Property is very good. Should have given 5 stars if staff is not rude. When I stayed at this hotel, it's almost empty, they refused to give me 2 Queen room instead of 1 king room. Also they switched off jacuzzi because not many guests checked in that day.

It was clean but each morning u had to fight housekeeping for an elevator. I've said before u should build a maintenance elevator for them to not interfere with the guests in all your hotels.
Workers were pleasant. Was very disappointed there was no way to get hallmark channel during a weekend they had special movies on. Children don't all want cartoons

Very nice property for a Courtyard. Incredible view of the Harbor and on Thursday and Friday they have entertainment on the patio that we enjoyed from our balcony. I do agree that downtown is not walkable but there is a shuttle for a fee or a very short Uber ride.

Fantastic location on the waterfront. Great pool and lots of covered outside seating. The staff could not have been more amazing. I was there for my 1st anniversary and I asked if they could store a cake and some flowers in one of their fridges... and they offered to set things up in my room while we were away at dinner... just went completely above and beyond. They are at the end of a remodel and the bathrooms in the suites are the last thing to be updated. Not bad, just dated because everything else is so new.

The staff was the best I have ever had, very polite. We had a great weekend on the river. We had a little accident with one of us, and the shuttle bus driver Angelo went above and beyond to help us get her from the emergency room back to the hotel. It was very foggy out and we normally don't drive at night so it was a relief to have his help. He was very helpful on other shuttle rides to let us know what to go and see. Eddie the other shuttle driver was also very helpful to get us reservations for dinner. We plan to come back and visit because everyone was so nice. Thanks for being our ANGEL Mr. Angelo

Update: I originally had this at 5 stars, but they no longer have the free shuttle service. The second visit was just okay.

Charleston is a charming city but can be expensive for tourists. This hotel offers a great solution. Although on the water, it is not located near most of the tourist attractions. They have a fantastic shuttle service that leaves the hotel every 30 minutes. I would normally prefer to stay in the heart of the city, but this shuttle service makes all the difference. I really enjoy the Courtyard brand and this hotel is even nicer than most Courtyards. They had a musician playing by the pool and a more elaborate bar than other Courtyards that I've stayed in. My wife and I enjoyed the hotel so much that we are going back and bringing the rest of our family.

Disappointed. I travel 150 nights a year and am a Platinum Elite member. I have made a significant commitment to the Marriott brand. My profile is completed with preferences. Yet at this hotel it seems everything was ignored. I checked in on the app online a day early also. When I arrived I was in a handicap accessible room and nothing in my profile fulfilled. I wonder why I even checked in online early - it means nothing apparently. No other rooms available to move either. Pick something else next time in Charleston and with my daughter coming to school here, it will be often

Customer service was good and friendly but I think that management, instead of worrying about the building paint should spend that money in updating their elevators in the rear as 1 of them was not working and the other one you had to keep pushing the button for it to work. The one in the front even thou it was just 1 floor it was easier to go the stairs rather than wait for it.
