Crowne Plaza is a quality standard my artists look forward to on tour but this location is next level awesome and really matches the vibe of Asheville. First of all, this is a resort and features a golf course, zip lines, 15 tennis courts, 3 pools (one indoors), spa, bar, and delicious restaurant (get the breakfast buffet). Something else that’s really cool and unique to this location is that it’s right off the highway but you would never know it by the cool spacious wooded surroundings. Rooms are well maintained; I really liked the marble work, comfy beds, and premium toiletry products. Also know that the 24 hour shuttle service can get you anywhere you want to go in Asheville for $5. Loved this spot, an absolute treat with wonderful staff. We loved it.

Check in was a breeze. Front desk was extremely helpful with finding a place to eat late at night. The hotel itself is sprawling and tucked away in a weird location. Not visible from the road at all. The room itself had a face lift it seems. It was large and clean. Bed was comfortable. No complaints. Nice place to stay.

I recently spent the weekend at this hotel for a business conference. It is a very nice hotel and has many spa and outdoor amenities like golf, ziplining within walking distance, tennis, indoor pool... It is only a few minutes to downtown Asheville. My room was clean and well laid out. The TV remove was dead, and after calling the front desk, a new remote was delivered within minutes. Good service. It is a great place IF you're using the numerous amenities, but a tad bit pricey if you are only in need of a simple room to sleep in for a night.

These cabins are unique, situated in a quiet area. They are spacious and ideal for families, with large kitchens and living areas. After spending hours driving into town, the beautiful running trail along the golf course was a welcome sight and a lovely place to get some exercise. Also, the free wifi in the cabin was strong, despite being in a tranquil wooded area. Check-in was efficient, and the popcorn available in the lobby was a nice touch. Even though the resort is located conveniently right off of the freeway, once you turn on to the property, it is quickly very quiet and you're seemingly transported out of the city environment and into lush greenery.

April Richardson is a touring comedian who was very excited to stay here while performing in Asheville! The property is beautiful and the staff is top-notch, and the rooms are perfect! There's a beautiful restaurant on-site, as well as a bar/grill in the lobby, a 9 hole golf course if you're lucky enough to have the time to enjoy it, as well as a zip line and outdoor pool! Thank you for taking such great care of us and we cannot wait to stay with you again!

Got into town early evening without a place to stay. After having a few adult beverages we got lucky with our Google search. This place was almost perfect. Slight smell of smoke in the room. After turning on the AC it was gone. Otherwise 5 star raiting.

With a nice breakfast and shuttle service to downtown Asheville, NC you should give them a serious look.

Hey there! It's Ryan, from the Duane Mark trio here!
We had a great stay at the Crowne Plaza in Asheville, NC!
The rooms were spacious, clean, and every room has a beautiful balcony with comfortable patio furniture! We really enjoyed the pool, and there were several comfortable spaces in the building to sit and relax or work outside of the room.
The outside of the property is large and well maintained, with beautiful scenic walking paths throughout... Our tour schedule didn't allow for us to participate in all of the on-site activities, but you could easily spend a weekend there and probably not be able to get to every activity they have to offer. From ziplines to fly fishing tours to a fireside bar & lounge, this place has it all!

An amazing stay with beautiful views. The location has a local spa, fitness club, clean pool, an old golf course that doubles as a jogging path and zip lines. It's crazy that this was such a great price that we chose it as a stop while driving across the country. We would have loved to have stayed longer.

The rooms are big the linens are nice and soft. The staff are very friendly. Didn't care for the location much as it wasn't close by anything. They do offer a free shuttle to downtown which was a big plus. Overall great place.

Our stay here was great. They have the adventure center for ziplining and whatnot, but we didn't have time to try it out. I did visit Adelaide Spa on site, and my massage with Brooke was nice and relaxing. Driving distance to great food in downtown Asheville and to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Would recommend.

Very nice facility for groups, lovely restaurant and bar. Or room was comfortable and clean. Price was reasonable during a busy summer weekend. Service was a little harried during a busy weekend but overall well done and professional. Convenient location to downtown and the river area and it's restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

Room was about a 8/10 with cleanliness, very acceptable, just not perfect. The location is convenient, very close to down town, has a nice restaurant that you can eat from being waited on to the bar to your room, and it has a pool too plus zipline. The grounds are better than the condition of some of the piping in the room. The beds are soft. The sheets are clean. The conference is nice. The staff is nice but sometimes it takes a bit for them to get to you. The fireplace and lounge is nice. Steve at the bar was very friendly and upheld the law :). The value is quite high sadly during some peak times. I would say this is a $104 dollar value 3.5 star hotel.

Dated room design and needs renovations. Front desk could be more welcoming. What really stood out for us was the on-premise restaurant and in-room food service. The resort is a bit far from most happening places, so on-premise F&B mattered a lot. Service was attentive, food was tasty and fresh. Will I stay at this property again? Probably yes if there are no other compelling options. And certainly if I am traveling with my dog.

This is an excellent resort for a conference. The facility is pristine and the staff is very accommodating. The food was excellent. My only complaint is that the coffee was a bit strong, but I'm not a fan of dark roast coffee!

Every business uses Crowne Plaze for conferences and meetings. They also hold lots of conventions here. Nice bar and lounge with a beautiful fireplace. I haven't been in their restaurant, so I can't comment on that. I'm giving 4 starts because parking can be an issue here, they need more spots.

For a short visit to Asheville, we found Crowne Plaza Resort Asheville. The cost to stay overnight was very reasonable. We were lucky to have met April, who gave us a villa for our anniversary stay. April has a great personality, bubbling over, a wonderful person to get everyone walking through the front door of the main building!! The villa is built in a very different way than anything we have ever stayed in before, very unique. We stayed here because it was close to the Isis Music Hall, where we were going to see an exceptional band called MonkeyJunk. The bed was very comfortable. The villa was clean. We had a really lovely view overlooking a creek and tall pine trees. We find the villa looks older than we expected from the main building but again, it's because the villa is a very unique structure.

I really enjoyed my experience at the resort. I was not impressed by the outside, it looks a little run down. One entered I was happily surprised. The inside is sparkling clean and very updated. The decor is modern and welcoming and the staff were friendly and helpful. The event I attended was very sophisticated and well tended to. I was very pleased with the attentiveness and professionalism of the staff. I would certainly recommend this venue to anyone looking to host a large event.

I stayed at the resort for about a week while attending Lindy Focus. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the food at the restaraunts was good. The staff was willing to provide extra key cards to my group, as there were many of us. The parking lots did get really icy partway through my stay, but overall it was a great experience.

The Crowne Plaza Resort is an annual destination for myself and about $1500 other dancers for a week at the end of every year, when they host the biggest Swing Dancing camp in the southeast, Lindy Focus. This event is one of a kind, and the Crowne Plaza stands to for toe with the uniqueness and splendor that this event holds in so many of our hearts. I have never had a disappointing experience while staying at the Crowne Plaza. The rooms are spacious, with comfortable beds, excellent heating/AC, and a roomy bath/shower. The front desk attendees are consistently accommodating, very friendly and go out of their way to assist with an extreme variety of requests. Every year I look forward to attending my event, and a not insignificant factor in that is the wonderful hotel we all get to stay in.

We stayed here on a Tuesday night after spending the day at Biltmore. We had our Boxer dog with us. They were very accommodating! We were able to get dinner and breakfast room service from their restaurant, very convenient, reasonably priced, and good! We stayed in a queen room which has a small couch, chair and tables. The hotel lobby is beautiful and the staff was very friendly. We will stay again!

The overall facility was pleasant, however the rooms left a bit to be desired. The bathrooms were especially small and the overall decor needs some maintenance and refreshing. Should you be staying during the winter months, I recommend being on the property by sundown. The grounds crew has difficulty ensuring the entrances are properly salted to prevent black ice. Unless you have experience driving on hills and have the appropriate vehicle, you will be risking your safety by attempting to get to the hotel.

Heating was messed up, either way hot or way cold. Very hard to find at night. Room was okay. No free breakfast as at most other chains today. And no coffee either. All in all just an okay place, but it was at least $50 cheaper than others. For the price it was a pretty good place to stay for one night.

Asheville Racquet Club at Crowne Plaza is an incredible deal. It has an indoor salt water pool perfect for winter time fun for the kids and an outdoor pool for summertime fun with a cabana to escape the sun and occasional rain. The gym always seems clean and there are classes going on regularly. The locker rooms are upscale and well-appointed.

Conference only: I did not stay in a room, but attended a three day conference. Very clean conference area. The food was great! (Steak was competitive with any steakhouse I've been to). Very good breakfast and snacks throughout this day. Very nice restrooms as well.

7

For a conference, this is a really nice venue. Rooms were clean and convenient to meeting areas. Recreational facilities are also very nice and well kept. Although I did not eat, the food served looked like it was pretty high quality. For down time, there are lovely paths for walking or even biking. There are also numerous tennis courts, golf, and other outdoors activities on site. I can't say this would be my first choice if I were traveling for vacation. The location is slightly inconvent and while clean and updated, the actual rooms have an old school motel feel thanks to the balcony setup. However, if golf or tennis is your thing, it would probably be worth overlooking those annoyances.

I've stayed here on 3 different occasions. It's getting better each time, it's been undergoing a remodel. The lobby is beautiful. The rooms are big. The trails are nice for a quick morning jog. Convenient location, not too far from Downtown Asheville. Although, it could be a bit tricky getting in the first time.

Overall it is a nice resort but to me it was over priced. The customer service from the women at the front desk wasn't great. She was rude when I had questions about my bill. Luckily the manager Bryan was standing near by and was able to step in and help out. The views were great and it was clean. The bathrooms are very small both in the hotel rooms and the villas.

Our 4th of July vacation here was so pleasant. We were given a room originally by the elevators and my husband is a light sleeper so that did NOT work well for us. They were completely booked, but said if we came back in the a.m. they would see what they could do for us. We went to the front desk and they gave us a room that was open or so the system said. When we got to the new room, there was someone in the shower. Definitely not unoccupied. We had already removed our things from the previous room and had them on a cart so we wheeled everything back up to the front desk to notify them of the mishap. They apologized and let us keep our things on the cart in the back office. We had plans that morning so we went about our way. When we came back they had us in a new room and nicely set out things out in the room for us. Overall, it was a pleasant experience despite these things. The staff was SOO NICE!! That is really what made the hotel a nice place to stay for a quick getaway.

Great service and good food. Very repectable during our entire event! I did have several issues with getting into my room. They were quick to fix it each time but it kept happening. I am positive my cards were nowhere near anything to demagnetize them. Even in one instance the battery on my door died not allowing it to take any card. Other then that one experience it's a very lovely place.

Nice resort but obviously dated, even with recent refurbishment attempts. I was not impressed with the upkeep of my room. Cracked paint, rust on the floor underneath the toilet, stains on the comforter (small but noticeable on the white covers). And the ugly plastic "log" lamp was just laughable. Staff seemed ill-timed - when we checked in the guy at the front desk sent three of us in a row outside instead of through the lobby by pointing in the wrong direction! Plus side, beds were comfy and the shower had plenty of hot water, and the grounds are lovely (though they should maybe label the 5k course if they're going to advertise it in their website).

Facilities and rooms were clean and nice. The grounds are expansive and pleasant. I took off a star because our room was in the middle of a wedding party who were slamming doors and running around drunk well into the night. I get that hotels can't always control the behavior of guests, but common sense would dictate putting us in a different part of the hotel and booking all the wedding guests together.

Great service. Great rooms. Great area, only thing lacking was the food. Not a large breakfast menu and when I did order from the menu, both times it was bland. The buffet, decent at best. Kind of my fault I went 30 minutes close to the end of it but it was just blah.

The hotel was nice but needed some renovating. The bathroom was really small and the water pressure was horrible. This could be because we are on top of the mountain. The beds are really comfortable and it was really clean overall. The restaurant was really good and they had an outdoor fire pit which was really nice to sit up during a cool night. The elevators were not the best. There was one elevator for the area that we were staying in. It was really slow and didn't work well and the staff used it as well. Overall good stay though. A great place for families with kids because it has three pools, zip lining, and fun activities for the family such as movie night which is free.

I just spent a week at the Crowne Plaza Resort for a business conference. I was very impressed with staff and service received. The rooms were clean and the housekeepers kept them clean daily. The food was excellent and fresh. I really enjoyed the breakfast bar in the mornings. The fresh omelets were my favorite and the bacon. It is always satisfying see grits on the breakfast buffet. I had a problem with my patio door and it was fixed in less than 30 minutes. The rooms were very accommodating for large conferences. We had several workshops on and off site. Even the large computer classes were easy sailing. No hick-ups that I am aware of. The location of the resort was in a good location . Shopping and other activities were close by. I would definitely stay at this resort again. Thank you for the great service.

I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The exterior was so much more inviting than the cold concrete slabs you see so often. The lobby is grand but inviting. I very much liked the jazz music playing overhead, as well. The room was very nice and looked new. I was surprised to find a balcony of our own. I also liked the multiple USB ports on the desk as well as one at the base of the rustic looking nightstand lamp. I understand Asheville isn't a giant metro. However, thanks to the hotel's proximity to the highway, we never spent more than 10 minutes getting practically anywhere. I will stay here again.

For the price we paid for this room I expected something a little nicer. It is an older building that has been remodeled as a Crown Plaza. The room seemed pretty clean but the shower drain was partially clogged so the tub would fill up with water when showering. The walls were thin and the neighbors TV could be heard late at night. We ordered dinner from the restaurant in the hotel which I don't recommend, you will end up paying too much for mediocre food. I suggest trying one of the few restaurants in the area.

Great place to stay! Minutes from downtown and has many nearby places to eat. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. The rooms are really nice. I don't golf, but they have a course right on the property. Great morning view of the mountains. They have a little bit of renovation going on (Oct 2015) but it's not disrupting at all. Recommend booking online and getting the $8 breakfast bar.

Will agree with previous reviews on the hotel itself... Lobby/lounge area is very nice, but rooms are ordinary and bathrooms are ezceptionally TINY! Room walls are SO thin you can hear conversations at normal speaking tone in the room next door. When I first checked in and got to my assigned room (main floor near elevator), it was HORRIBLE... gross odor & CONSTANT dinging & chaos from the nearby elevator. I will say staff was very friendly & accommodating in moving me to a quieter room or I wouldn't have slept for 4 nights (honestly was so unhappy, wouldn't have stayed at the Crowne at that point had my conference not been held at this hotel & NC under state of emergency due to predicted hurricane & potential flooding, otherwise would have immediately moved hotels). Wouldn't be writing a negative review right now, except, final night of my stay & was trying to get a beer at the bar (at 10:30pm) and had to be kept waiting, plus subjected to the screaming noise accompanied by a man who showed up bringing his two young children (one infant and one toddler probably 3 years old??) down TO THE BAR, the children both being allowed to occupy seats at the busy bar, and other patrons then having to listen to screaming & wait for the bartender to go and find each of them a milk box (and Dad a beer!!!!!) while all other patrons at the bar were waiting. Not my style. Steve at the bar was phenomenal throughout my entire visit (it was another bartender who enabled this nonsense). I would never stay at this hotel again, after all of this ridiculousness.

It's very nice where you first walk in however my room was in a separate building far away from where my work meetings were being held. Seems like every light I turned on in the room and bathroom made crackling sounds and had that sketchy flicker to it. Bathrooms are pretty large which was nice. I probably wouldn't stay here if it weren't for my work conference being held here. If you do book a room here get one near the lobby. Do not stay in one of the buildings where you have to walk across the parking lot like I got stuck with. Overall it was average. Service was good. But I've stayed at better places at cheaper rates.
