Beautiful location right on the water with a marina. Good food. Live music. Hotel room not cleaned properly with old empty wine bottles behind TV stand. Rooms must be sanitized especially with corona virus pandemic. Overpriced. Made the best of it.

Under the harsh conditions of today's problems they made my date very enjoyable as if nothing was wrong outstanding will always go back and food wonderful thanks guys 🤗

The most gorgeous hotel. Stayed in Hotel's Galley Building and it was so cozy. They let us stay an extra 2 hrs because it was my birthday and we arrived late due to touring long island. The Queen size bed was super comfy, room was nice and clean and cozy bot to mention how peaceful, relaxing and quiet it is. The perfect get away from working/living in NYC, Highly recommended and will definitely stay again....and again. ...and again.

Fantastic waterview rooms and suites. Perfect for business travelers and tourists alike! Our organization is very pleased with all the amenities. Fantastic restaurant and bar, with high courteous, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Port Jeff village also has great shops, restaurants and in winter...even ice skating at the town centre. Well worth a visit!

Gorgeous location on the water. Very convenient for ferry access. Parking can be challenging since there is no dedicated parking. Food looks beautiful and is presented well. The taste is slightly above average. Overall would recommend to others.

Very nice, but expensive. Has it's own hotel brand gift shop, for some reason. All amenities (water, breakfast) are an added fee. Great view and cozy rooms.

I didn't end up staying here because they were completely booked due to many flight cancellations. But the staff, specifically Jon Graziano went out of his way to help me find another room close to the hotel. He truly helped turn a bad situation into a manageable one. The hotel was very clean and pretty. We ate dinner in the bar and the food was very good. Nice atmosphere.

Stole an evening overnight at this local port. We couldn't tell we were just a little more than half hour from home. Beautiful property with several buildings and amenities. The best part was having the live music and cocktails all day and night. The restaurant was perfectly blended with the outdoor dock. This is a must do kind of spot. The entire town is walking distance with more restaurants and shopping. The ice cream/ candy store is a must do!

I went to a private event in one of their party rooms. The location is AMAZING. The staff were very helpful. The food was delicious. The room was clean. The bathrooms were clean. I’d highly suggest having a party here.

We came here for my daughter's engagement party. Food was good, but service was slow inside restaurant. It was very busy that day as well as weather was great and many people were sitting outside at tables near water. We had a large open window looking out onto deck which provided us with a nice outdoors atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this place.

Danford's, at Port Jefferson, was beautiful. So much attention to detail. The view of the water was spectacular. We stayed to see the sunset, while enjoying our dinner and drinks. Afterwards, we enjoyed the band and dancing. Will definitely be back and recommend to friends.

The place was cute and new England ish. The location is right in the middle of down town. All the restaurants , marina were in walking distance. Rooms very large and clean. Excellent water pressure. My keys had issues and my room was across the street was a bit inconvenience but not a big deal. I would stay again.

Service is always an issue here. I wish bar, cocktail, and wait staff were properly trained. It becomes a huge detriment...bc in that setting and with those prices, we expect TOP NOTCH service, and it doesn't even come close. Severely lacking. They need to bring in some training gurus. To add to poor service frustrations, there always seems to be at least a few people standing around (in EVERY section), doing nothing. Multiple times and on multiple visits. They could reduce waitstaff by a third if they just had better training.

The restaurant staff, knowledgeable and eager to please. Food excellent. New decor, lovely. Live music as you watch the pt.jeff ferry go by. And it's pet friendly.

Visited for a wedding reception. Lovely location. Excellent food. Staff was professional, accommodating and friendly. The only issue is parking in such a busy area.

I went for my sororities formal. while the parking lot was super confusing and I ended up parking in the metered lot across the street everything else was pretty great. we were in the ballroom and the whole event was beautiful. the wait staff was very accommodating, the bar tender was attenting and able to make drinks quickly for everyone.

This is my my favorite romantic spot during summertime. They have outdoor seating and live music in the gazebo on the water. Amazing views, summer vibes & unique drinks. They are pricey though! I also got married here in September 2016. My wedding was absolutely amazing and the staff was OVERLY helpful. I have stayed in their hotel on a few different occasions and loved it. My room smelt good, was super clean, had a balcony view and there isn’t long hallways for kids to run up and down and go crazy so it was quiet too!

This hotel was a last minute stay as I had to catch the ferry the next day. The view is amazing. My room was conveniently located right opposite the local’s cafe which is amazing itself. Their service was good and staff was very friendly.! I would definitely go again!

Very friendly staff and attention to detail. Very, very convenient to the Ferry... couldn't get any closer. However, we could hear people walking above and from the parking lot outside.

This historic Port Jefferson establishment is now a beautifully appointed hotel and restaurant. Views of the Sound can be had from almost every window. The lounge is lovely. Comfy sofas and casual tables are the perfect spot to share a charcuterie board and wine with with a flare of elegance. The lobby fireplace boasts a stunning carved swan mantle and the glow can melt away the chill of late March. Mid-afternoon sun warms the broad wrap around porch where white rocking chairs beckon and guests enjoy lunch at tables dressed with crisp linens and sparkling place settings. This is the perfect place to meet up with friends and family, or to wait for the ferry from Port Jefferson to Bridgeport.

A friend of man invited me to lunch here. The food was absolutely delicious, dessert decadent. Here's a tip, order appetizers instead of a full meal so you have room for dessert. The views are lovely. The atmosphere was terrific. Such a cool fireplace!

One of my favorite places to go on the North Shore. Classy but casual atmosphere. Excellent restaurant and bar. Top notch staff.

This hotel is beautiful. It's clean and with great views of the marina. The staff is polite. I was not expecting such a good hotel for the price.

This food was ok but I couldn't even tell you what I ate, it was that mediocre. The clientele was a strange mix of old people dressed very well and younger people dressed a little sloppily. I think being connected to a hotel is actually a negative for this place because they really don't have to care how well they prepare your food.

Was here for a venue showing for a wedding. It is a really beautiful location right in the water. The food is good. I would recommend here.

October 2017, my husband & I planned a trip from California to Port Jefferson. I reserved the room over the phone with Karin from the Danfords Hotel. Karin went out of her way to make certain we were getting the room we requested. However, about a week before our arrival - when i called to confirm, Karin wasn't available, and there was a misunderstanding regarding our room. Quickly, however, Karin rectified the problem, and gave us $25 off for our trouble. However - it didn't stop there. When we arrived to check in, we were pleasantly surprised to learn that Karin had actually arranged to upgrade our room! The view was beautiful, the room was quaint, and the shower was AMAZING (2 person shower with incredible modern fixtures!) The hotel can use upgrading - the stairs can be a bit difficult to navigate, but all in all, we were very pleased and would definitely stay there again. The staff was able to accommodate us for early room access & late check out, too. Thank you, Karin, for that surprise and for the exemplary customer service.

It's a nice enough little place. It's been renovated recently, but the buildings are very old and it shows. I'm sure lots of people would find it quaint.

Great place in a great location. Rooms are nothing special but the decor of the hotel is nice. Food is great in the restaurants with nice drinks. Nice view of port Jefferson.

Visited for the brunch buffet, it was superb! A very nice selection of assorted warm and cold dishes, all of which were very tasty. Friendly and fast service, set in a beautiful atmosphere on the water. Inside seating for brunch only, but it was such a nice place with a good view. Would definitely recommend and return.

Brunch at Danford's was great! The food and atmosphere are amazing during the summer. But, wait staff was no on top of cleaning up glasses or filling drinks. They also did not replenish food that quickly.

Beautiful hotel and restaurant! Special requested a wine for my girlfriend and I. It was at the table and cold for us. The wine service was impeccable the server was truly trained on how to present a bottle and serve it. I was impressed. Our entire meal was fast and tasted amazing!

AMAZING! We stayed two nights in the harbor view Suite in the captain's building and honestly we're treated like royalty our entire stay. The hotel staff was helpful and courteous our entire stay. Breakfast at the Wave Restaurant was very good and the price was fair, although we did wait a little longer for food. Dinner was delicious and drinks were well made! The atmosphere created through the recent Renovations is wonderful. The butterfly Salon and Spa was also amazing. We enjoyed one of the best massages I've ever had. Again the staff here was so incredibly hospitable and generous. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Port Jeff!

Always a hidden treasure, always a good time. Since the new owners took over they have created a great new and inviting atmosphere. Highly Recommend this place, with reasonable rates and a view that is just breathtaking don't miss an opportunity to enjoy Port Jefferson's finest Hotel, Beauty and catering facility. Not to mention the mixologists know how to make the drinks right at the bar in their new wave restaurant. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I recently attended my friend's wedding at Danford's hotel and marina and I felt they pulled it off masterfully well. The music, scenery, the transitions from one event to the next were all seamless and handled by Danford's very professional staff. Everyone seemed to enjoy the food, but I didn't have much first hand experience with it since I'm Vegan and the menu often didn't offer any vegan or vegetarian options. Even when the event ended and people didn't quite wanna leave we had the option to prolong our night at Danford's bar downstairs, which was fully stocked with beer, wine, and liquor. All in all, i can confidently say everyone in the wedding party had an exceptional evening, one that they will remember fondly for years to come.

Came here for dinner, service was prompt and food was delicious. Only issue there was a live band playing and I could barely hear my fiance talking or the waiter. But I guess that bit is out of my control, could have picked another night to go. Otherwise it was great!

Attended a wedding. Ceremony outside was beautiful. Reception inside would have been fine except it seemed their A/C wasn't working. It was so hot in there.

We attend multiple times and have only have a bad experience once with a server who treated us like we weren't going to tip because of our age. The food is good but nothing spectacular however, the drinks are out of this world. It is nice to sit outside in the summer time because of the live entertainment that you get. Overall, pretty cool place for the summer and the location is down port, very nice to walk around.

Never lodged here, only came a couple times for the nightlife. The bartenders are professional, courteous and on point. In my opinion, it's a cute boring place. Right on the water, very pretty facility, but not really a nightlife spot. It's a quiet nook for couples to drink and relax. If you want quiet, go here. If you want to "turn up" go to Shaffers.

Went there for a friend's wedding. The wait staff was professional and courteous and the food was very good as well. Didn't have a problem whatsoever. The place was just a bit smaller than I would have liked, so I was always squeezing between people.

I attended a bridal shower in a function room across from valet service. The staff were attentive, and the food was excellent. The adjoining bathroom was beautiful and clean. Both staff and valet seemed understaffed, especially valet service. Valet was also a bit disorganized as we waited about 30 minutes to get our car while someone who came 20 minutes after us got our car before we did. There was also no one who could help me bring presents from my car. I had to wrangle the difficult to wheel dolly myself. The view of the marina from the function room was lovely.

Excellent hotel. Spacious and quiet rooms. Although there are a few dilapidated features and repairs to be made. Amazing location and lovely area.

I stayed in the new buildings across the street and have had a very nice stay. Comfortable, firm bed, clean rooms and amenities. The town of Port Jeff is simply adorable and there's so much to see and do. No end of restaurants and options for a drink. Perfect for walking, no car needed.

The seafood at Danford's is excellent. Very fresh and tasty. Ambience is also very pleasant and the staff are very friendly.

The rooms were conveniently placed and spaced to offer alog of comfort. Personally, i was there not to stay, but to check out the facilities for my family. The restraunt looked good and reasomably priced for the location and perceived quality of food, and the location of the marina is unbeatable, with an amazing view of the ocean.

Location is right on the water with great views of the bay especially with sunset. Right next to the marina to see all the fantastic boats but that also means next the ferry. Being that close to the ferry if great for convenience but also means you get to hear the horn all the time. A minor inconvenience. Great food at the hotel and great food surrounds the hotel.

This place has a beautiful view with a very friendly and accommodating staff. I got dinner and some drinks with friends outside on the docks. The live band was great! Even when I go downport and I don't visit Danford's, I sometimes walk through the outside part of the restaurant because it is so beautiful!

Very nice inside and I always get a good bartender. The drinks and food are definitely good but the drinks are on the expensive side if it isn't happy hour.

I love marinas and I never had been there before this place is a touch of the old Elegance with the new. Highly recommend it.

Brunch was good, but not the best brunch I've had. There's a really nice view of the port though!

Had a semi formal at danfords. The food was great and as was the service. It would have been better if they had 2 bartenders instead of one though.

Very nice and clean in there. They offer valet and free parking for guests. Great selection and the decor is really cool. Staff was accommodating as well.

Very nice event. Went for a co-worker's retirement party. It was setup beautifully. They kept bringing out passed food, appetizers, and pasta. The drinks were moderately priced. They even had a room of dessert selections. Would highly recommend.

I stayed here for a weekend wedding in September 2016. We had a room on the bottom floor the Captain's building. In regards to the rooms: they are spacious and clean. However, our air conditioning unit was so loud that it woke us up several times during the night. Our room was also not exactly soundproof, and we were able to hear any conversations being held outside near us.The hotel property itself is beautiful - the red brick walkways, the white buildings against the blue water, the proximity of the restaurant and bar to the rooms is fantastic. Overall, it's a fantastic place to hold a wedding because of the convenience of all the facilities.

Love the hotel. Really charming and the only place to stay in Port Jeff village. There are a few B&B's locally, but Danfords really is the only show in town. Secret tip is that their off season rates are great and make the perfect gift or surprise overnight getaway.

Went for Sunday Brunch. Liked that they had unlimited drinks. The food was buffet style, good but not great. Could have used more breakfast items in selection. Service was good. Beautiful atmosphere.

Nice size room..however, bathroom door was falling off the hinges, hook on back of bathroom door was broken off, towel rack fell off, dresser drawers were either broken or front fell off. Reported the dresser and towel rack to front desk and they sent up their fixit person. He fixed the towel rack and looked at the dresser and said that their are new owners and they are spending lots of money fixing things up. I don't see what that had to do fixing the dresser or anything else.
The resturant has a moldy smell as you walk in.
Asked for more towels and they never came.

Wonderful location that is both totally central yet somehow feels private and cozy. The corner room had its own private balcony overlooking the water. Few chairs for lounging, though it was little unkept. The room itself was awesome, so was the overall experience.

I loved the architectural style of the buildings and the shower was amazing! The rooms could have been nicer, and the walls were paper thin, but I had a great experience overall.

Great Staff... I hold my NYS Boating Safety Classes there once a month and they treat me well and always have everything ready. Great place to rent for business events and parties too.
