Pleasantly surprised to randomly find this place. We went for a day trip to the water park and want to go back overnight. So much to do. We ate and played in the arcade. My only complaint is that there wasn't enough tubes at the water park. I'm sure they will get that resolved. You can tell its on an uprise and I heard it has newish owners that are going to put a lot more into it. I'm looking forward to going back! Very impressed to find this gem.

Beautiful 3 bedroom suite was clean and comfortable. Jacuzzi tub was nice and relaxing after a night of dancing at my son's wedding. Rehearsal dinner the evening before was delicious. Staff were great to work with, some a little less experienced, but it's got to be difficult getting a lot of experienced help in a rural community...glad they are providing employment and helping the community!

Amazing Family vacation great horseback riding a lot of new staff that were amazing Calvin and Catherine were wranglers that were more than accommodating for all of the riders. the outdoor swim area was super fun and the front desk was very helpful with any issues that arose. definitely suggest going for the horseback riding great time.

My family stayed in the back 40 cabin. It was super cute and quiet. My only complaint would be that the pool and little store close way too early and open way too late! The pool closed at 8pm and didnt open til noon! That is such a bummer. People are awake with the sun there. It should at least open at 9am or 10am and stay open at least til 9pm. I would have liked yo have taken my daughter horseback riding, but all spots were full. Front desk was understaffed. Long wait to simply ask a question. The restaurant had delicious food. I would definitely stay there again.

I've never gone to the resort on its own, I've only ever been there for Electric Forest. With that said the grounds are beautiful, well maintained, and a great place to get away. The water park is quite fun and very enjoyable for being in the middle of nowhere. The late owner was a wonderful human being and you would frequently see him riding his ATV meeting festival-goers and welcoming them.

As I was booking the room, the girl on the phone was distracted and laughing. Barely got the info I needed to make sure the booking was complete. She didn’t take my email address down correctly so I had to call back to get an email confirmation for the reservation.

Check in went smoothly and the room was great. We really enjoyed the water park and the husbands enjoyed the round of golf.

As for the “activities” that were advertised outside of golf and the water park, we were very disappointed. The restaurants close at 9, the mechanical bull never was running, the karaoke was not running. The entire building was like a ghost town after 8:00.

We asked the front desk for a shuttle out to the outdoor pool. When we arrived we were told it was closed. They hoped to have it open in 30 minutes. While we waited we decided to walk around the buildings to pass the time. The “saloon” was closed, the tractor for kids to ride around the track had a flat tire, and the place looked deserted. Tried to call the number provided by the front desk to call the shuttle and it kept disconnecting. Took 4 tries to get someone on the phone connected to the hotel to have the shuttle come back to pick us up.

Spoke with the front desk about our concerns 3 times and twice we were treated terribly. At one point the person behind the desk walked away from us.

The room was perfect for our group, it was clean and had everything we needed. The water park, golf, and mini golf were great entertainment. I would recommend all of these things, but if you are going for a resort type of atmosphere, this is not the place to go. You have to make reservations to do the things that they advertise as daily activities. Restaurants were empty all the time and the staff at the front desk and in the restaurants were rude.

Great place to have a wedding. The food was fantastic and we had excellent service. We stayed in the cabins on the back forty. While we did enjoy the cabins, management needs to pay attention to repairing cooktops and ac units as some of them were not working properly.

The rooms are adequate, however the layout of the facilities is strange. There is no walking path from the loft rooms to the main facilities, although you can cut through the golf course and walk on the golf cart path. Considering this is a place that caters to families, the idea that children would walk alongside the main road is strange oversight. The main desk/registration is not clearly marked and I drove around the facility for a few minutes trying to find it and eventually gave up and walked around until I found it. Our room was not cleaned the next day, also the room did not have an iron and ironing board, which to their credit they delivered, about an hour and a half after we called. I assumed at that point it simply wasn't coming. The main breakfast buffet is not bad, the food is roughly what you'd expect, but reasonably priced. Since the buffet is high up, its inaccessible to younger children. Since they only provide plates and no tray, this required a trip to the buffet for myself and each of my two children, not to mention carrying silverware, drinks. Once we we're done, I had to flag down a server since it was unclear if/how we would pay as I was unsure the breakfast was included with the stay or complimentary, because like many small touches that we're overlooked, it just seems they've given little thought about how people figure things out or navigate their way around the campus. Finding the way into the thoroughbred suites was also puzzling as you either have enter in through a parking garage to find an elevator, or take a couple flights of stairs through a back door to make your way up to the first floor. The staff was pleasant, the facilities were clean, but from a facilities layout/Civic engineer standpoint, it lacks a lot of planning and forethought. It's a confusing and poorly laid out campus that needs improved signage.

The grounds are well organized and very well maintained! Staff is friendly, and there is a lot to do here. The outdoor pools by the back 40 are my favorite! They have so many options for relaxation or for actual activities, it just depends on what you're feeling that day. They also have a golf course and horseback rides. I would definitely recommend Double JJ to just about anyone!

Tons of activities available, staff is really nice. The water park was nice. Everything is older and outdated but they take pretty good care of what they have. My room was old and the walls were paper thin but it was clean and well stocked. I give it 3 stars because it really needs to be updated. I do really recommend bringing family here because of the wonderful staff and all the great activities they offer for us Midwesterners who are stuck inside with the cold weather most of the year. I will go back!

Very disappointed. Arrived at 3 told our room was not ready for the 4 check in. I advised my booking said 3 for check in. The front desk staff said heads would roll. We got a room in the loft. Cold and not very inviting. Water park is expensive and clean towels are rare. I truly had only one staff member smile during a transaction. What happened to being on stage always. Don't waste your money go to soaring Eagle staff are at least pretending to like their jobs.

Water park is decent size many slides. The hot tub is awesome it's inside and outside. The locker rooms were literally freezing I even asked if it could be turned up. We had a loft which was great bc it was on a private floor but what they didn't tell you was you had to park and walk up stairs through a small wooded area and then up 3 flights of stairs to our room with no elevator. Otherwise great place with lots to do outside of the water park. Good golf was a blast and the arcade

Nice resort for a weekend family getaway. Everything you could want within a few minutes walk: restaurant, bar, water park, etc. We slept 7 people comfortably in a suite, although there wasn't much room in the "living room" area for our family game night. At the end of the weekend our family was very pleased with our time at the resort. Will be back for sure.

Went up to stay on a Friday night so we would be close to Fremont for wrestling on Saturday. Friendly staff , helpful. Over the top will to help out so we would have a great time for all the kids and family. The pizza was OUT OF THIS WORLD, BBQ CHICKEN!!! Clean !!! Definitely want to return with the family to be able to spend more time in the water park. You should bring back having concert again.

Great idea, terribly executed, waste of my money. The signage at the front was horrible, how were we suppose to know that the hotel check in was the same as the water park, but the girl on the phone made it seem like I should've known. Then there was no parking near our hotel so we had to walk down an icy hill with all of our stuff for the night. The hotel walls are paper thin, the floors above us squeaked and the parents of the kids bounding down the hall were less than considerate. I paid way too much for this poor experience. The water park was really neat, but the signage was horrible, didn't even realize there was another slide until we were upstairs later that night, there was only one sign to it and it wasn't that explicit. The other ones don't advise which tubes you need till you are at the top which is frustrating when you are in one line and it's not one you can go down. The breakfast smelled good, but there were 4 groups of 4 before us and they weren't sitting down anytime soon, so I let the money I paid for that part of the package down the drain as well. All in all, it was a great idea just terribly executed and we were the ones to suffer.

While they were severely understaffed while we visited due to the flu, the water park left a bit to be desired. Towels were hard to come by and there weren't enough tubes for the amount of people there. The section for little kids want very well thought out. It was way too easy for them to get into a deeper pool in a flash, and all of the squirting things were aimed right at eye level for a 3 year old. There was hardly anywhere you could go that they wouldn't be constantly splashed or squirted. It might be great for older kids (8 and up), but it's not good for small children.

Great rooms with amazingly soft beds. I especially loved the Jacuzzi tubs and the water park. The food is absolutely amazing and the views are absolutely gorgeous! I would 100% come again and suggest it to anyone who wants to get away from the stresses in life.

The rooms are nice. We stayed in calamity Jane. Great size and plenty of room for our family of six. Full kitchen with table nice living area. Good sized bedrooms. Nice views, parking garage, walk ways to a couple of the buildings. Arcade was fun for all, bar had good food, there was karaoke and a mechanical bull. Ice cream and treats. Prices in their gift shop we're so affordable. The water park was fun for all, fast fun slides, indoor/outdoor family hot tub, lazy River, toddler play area. Great place for a family reunion! We will definitely be planning another stay!

Great place to stay. Room was huge with a King sized bed. The kitchen was big area to gather was good sized as well. The bedroom also had a huge jacuzzi tube and the bathroom had a stand up shower. The water park was great and had enough to do for kids and adults.

I love the big suites and the water park better than great Wolf Lodge. I did have an issue with the deposit on locker key. The key needed to be returned by 9pm. We went to our room at 6pm and decided not to go back to the water park until the next morning. JJ refused to refund my deposit of $40 for the keys because they needed to be returned the previous night by 9pm. I cancelled my return planned for Jan. 13, 2017 because of their refusal to work with me on the locker keys.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was a bit lackluster, but hearty. We loved the ice cream shop and general store. The life guards in the water park were friendly and very helpful. We found everyone to be extremely friendly. Our room a.c. was dismantled (as in pieces) and our icemaker was also broken. It was in the middle of the summer, so we were miserable. The front desk staff was very sweet. Although they were unable to have it repaired, they sent us up a large bag of ice. They also offered to move us. Since it was the middle of the night, we declined, moving just wasn't practical. We were very disappointed about how hot it was, although the room was great otherwise. It was huge, had a full kitchen and many other cool perks. Although we were disappointed about the state of the room a.c., especially considering the rates they charge, we found everyone to be very nice. I would still recommend this place , as long as you don't mind the hefty price and inspect your room carefully upon checking in. After a full day and evening of activities, when you're tired and the repair staff are gone is not the time to get unpleasant surprises. All, in all, this is a fun and unique getaway. We felt the friendly, genuinely nice staff made what would have been a disastrous stay, great. We left with great memories and can laugh about the room issues instead of feeling angry. We do wish we could have afforded to stay longer. We also plan to go back. I had heard negative things, but have to say that I was impressed at how friendly and nice EVERYONE working there was, even in the midst of a problem. There are also so many cool activities and places to explore. I would recommend a week long stay if you can afford it. I just don't think you have enough time to see and do everything in less time. If you can only afford one night, add the water park passes and spend your time there! We felt there was something for everyone in the water area. Lounges, huge indoor/outdoor hot tub, swimming areas, toddler area, tube rides, food area and even lockers. The life guards were friendly and helpful while still being professional and concerned with safety. This really is a fun, friendly and unique vacation with something for everyone!

Customer service was an A +. They made sure we were taken care of from the beginning of our stay until we left. We purchased the golf package and received a free breakfast, overnight stay in the suites with a hot tub in the bedroom and had a great time! The food was great. Golf was fun but course is a little difficult but absolutely gorgeous. Just a great overnight getaway!

Our stay was not very pleasant. We waited 2 hours past check in to get our room. The front desk staff was rude. Our room was decent, minus the dead flies in the window and the wasps and nest outside (Maintenance did take care of the wasps after calling twice). The waterpark was small, and over priced. All the staff were very, very young and non accommodating. Sunday we had maintenance just walk into our room while we were sleeping. The property needs updating and better management!

Our family spent four days here and had a blast! We especially loved the Saloon for dinner and drinks, the outdoor swimming hole and the water park. The cowboy town setting was really fun for the kids - they ran and chased other kids for hours. Made for great photos. The cabins were great, clean and thoughtfully arranged for families. Some of our kids did horseback riding lessons. Cute ice cream show and general store. We will definitely go back!

Overall, a great place. The kids loved the water park! However, we did encounter so problems at first. We arrived at 4 pm on a Sunday to check in. It took almost an hour before we had a cabin. The original cabin wasn't ready for us, the second they couldn't find the keys, so the third we were put in. Then the smoke detector wouldn't stop chirping and they couldn't fix it. We were finally put into the original cabin we were supposed to have. We were also told that the water park closed at 5, when in reality it closed at 9 and our boys missed out on hours of time there. The restaurant was closed for dinner when we were told it was open. All in all, the first evening had us all very frustrated. Management did make it worth our while to stay. The next day when considerably better, including a horse back riding. Again, another snafu, but it was not the fault of the place but rather some rude guests that didn't show for the ride like they were suppose to. We do plan on going back when we can, although our schedules won't allow for it anytime soon.

We booked letting them know we were specifically looking for an Easter package in the water park. We ended up getting the splash package but they didn't tell us until we got there that they Easter package would cost more for all eight of our guests which was not in our budget they should have known to tell us that upfront. So last minute before the Easter activities our kids realized that they wouldn't be involved with the Easter egg hunt because it wasn't included.

It was very fun. Sadly though, when we were there it was Spring and a lot of the things to do we're closed. One of the slides has supposedly been closed since last year (Rustler Gulch). Which also is Michigan longest indoor waterslide. They need to hire more staff though because when we checked in we waited in line for a half an hour. But beside that I highly recommend Double jj. Also try the mechanical bull!

The kids had fun at the water park. My mom did slip on some stairs and fell hard. There seemed to be a complete disregard for patron safety and the thought of making any improvements. We went to the steakhouse afterwards to eat, and had terrible service from start to finish. There were only 8 tables in the restaurant, but the manager refused to seat us for 20 minutes because they "just had a rush". I asked the bartender who had zero tables, zero bar guests, and was just organizing liquor if we could sit in the bar area, which I received a dirty look and a hard "No". We had one person order a steak at our table. She ordered it Medium Rare and it came out completely well done, zero pink. I could go on, but overall, feels like poor management and will not go back.

Went to the pool for the day on Sunday. It was very busy and there was not enough tubes for the water slides. The 4-person tube slide had less than 4 tubes in circulation. There was nowhere to sit as people were putting their personal items on tables and chairs rather than a pay for a locker. Also both my husband and daughter cut their toes on the textured cement on the edge of the wave pool. Overall we had a good time, but their is definitely room for major improvement.

Double JJ has a very polite, attentive staff. Right now it seems to be the only thing going for it. The recent "renovation" to the waterpark has turned the pool area into a slip and fall hazard that they are addressing with caution tape and rugs. Rooms are in need of updating and cosmetic repair. The restaurant was understaffed, but the food was good. The arcade had mostly broken down games and a tiny selection prizes. For the price we paid, we sure didn't get value.

We had six adults and three kids coming from Norton Shores, Coopersville, and Byron Center. Multiple calls were made to make sure the tubing would be open due to the rain. We were assured there would be no issues. Website verified the location was open as well. Drove out there, and were turned away due to the rain. None of us had ever been here and I highly doubt there will be a return trip. When confronted, all staff offered was an apology. To management, make sure all staff is on the same page as far as when you will and will not be open.
UPDATE: All 9 tickets have been comped. I will edit rate after visit.

I just want to say thank you very much to the waterpark staff. My daughter and I were coming down a slide and flipped over and she hit her head. Your staff were there immediately. Very professional and thorough checking her out. My hat is off to all involved. Makes a parent feel good knowing your staff pays attention to every little detail going on in your facility. This will not hold us back from coming again. As we have been to many indoor water parks and my kids said this is the best they have been to. We will be back many many times. Thank you again.

We visited the water park for a birthday party. The water park was great. There wasn't too many people there, if you wanted to get on a slide you could with little to no wait. The only issue we had was getting our pizza for the party, it was over an hour after the time it was supposed to be available. I wouldn't have cared except that we had 10 very hungry kids. All in all it was a great day and a great party. Definitely worth the price for what you get, even with the late pizza, which was delicious by the way!

Fun for families and couples, and water park is great. I have been to Double JJ a few times and enjoy the Back Forty family cabins with a loft and fireplace. Not too expensive for all there is to do there. Rodeo, water park, horse rides, golf, hiking and having good food right on-site. It's good in winter and summer....

It's very fun for the kids. While everything isn't state of the art, I wouldn't expect a ranch to be so. The rodeo was entertaining and enjoyable, and the water park is a bit small but has awesome slides. The cabin I stayed in was clean and cozy, the food is good (all you can eat ribs for 14 bucks on Fridays).

Loved the horseback riding! The staff was extremely friendly and loved to help. Our guide was knowledgeable, polite and had a very outgoing personality. The food at Sundance grill was outstanding and our drinks were well made. Once again, our waitress was friendly, attentive and a pure delight. Never felt like I was mistreated or forgotten about. The staff was wonderful and the ranch itself was so much fun. Will be going back again without hesitation.

My family came to the Double JJ August 2015 and stayed in the back 40 in one of the log cabins. To be honest, I was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews but the Double JJ truly surpassed our expectations. The log cabin was clean and very accommodating. The master bedroom had a whirlpool tub and balcony. Our children's ages range from 7 to 16 and there was plenty to do for each and everyone of us. We had a blast at the pool, the indoor water park, Trail rides, camp fires, cattle herding, line dancing, tennis, beach volleyball and golf. We literally did it all! Every single staff person we came in contact with, from the cleaning ladies to the ranchers, was friendly and polite. It was a vacation that we will always remember. We will definitely be returning!
