The standard rooms are very outdated and old, scratches everywhere.

Electricity did not work and a technician had to come after 30 minutes to fix it.

I will not book again here, in a standard room at least...

The food was still good enough and I'd rate it 7/10 for a 5 star hotel.

The men working the front entrance who take your temperature upon entering are very rude. As I was entering the building to go upstairs to the main lobby desk to pay my bill, they looked at me crazy and asked me if I lived here, as if they thought I had no business being at their hotel. I felt discriminated against. I will never come to this hotel again, and will be checking out and staying at another hotel as soon as possible. I guess if you don't look like them, they don't want you here. I will be sure to let others know.

A good hotel to stay! Easy access to all important places. They have very good restaurants with unmatchable quality.

Some things diminish with age and some mature like a great wine! 40 years ago, when I lived in Bahrain, I was a regular patron. I had my reservations about visiting again after so long. I was hugely surprised and delighted at what I found! Great amenities and better service than the great service I remembered. I hope to come back again for a visit.

It's overrated, but then again, Bahrain standards for hotels are low. Cons: small-ish pool, a little expensive, confusing parking, you have to walk a lot, very small room, too hyped, bad location. Pros: 10 Restaurants and 5 cafes, very good hospitality, convention center, executive building, shuttle bus, free parking, good gym.

Went for breakfast this morning, the restaurant layout has been changed, much more open & welcoming. Loved the Saj bread and fresh carrot and orange juice. Everything well displayed, looked and tasted delicious. Very helpful and friendly staff. Seems the Gulf Hotel has a few more surprises and upgrades in store, looking forward to it!

Love the style of this hotel! Fun and unique! I would stay here again, The hotel offers a great atmosphere. The lobby is always busy with people working, chatting and provides a great scenery to relax. All the restaurant and bar by the pool are both of high quality .

Liked our stay a lot. Wonderful staff; variety of food and nice garden. Pool is kind of small but ok. Also, hotel in city. Dont have a beach. If it had a beach; would be fascinating.

Golf Hotel Bahrain is a wonderful place. Can be compared to the best in the world. Sherlock Holmes Bar deserves a special mention. The staff and the Manger Kevin are highly professional. Drinks /Draft beers were my favourite. Selected Bands playing in the evening. Highly recommended to all Beer lovers and couples looking for a memorable d evening in Bahrain.

Pure oldies but Goldie’s location.
One of the oldest location in town, recently fully refurbished.
Great rooms and lots of restaurant and a very nice swimming pool.
AC in commons area is by far too cold also for the Middle East standard.
Music on the pool is often way too loud.
Generally the service could be improved.

Overall a good stay in a very central location.

It has a great location, near a great restaurants area and also has a few of the best restaurants of the city. And for the ladies it has an amazing gym spa facility.
The kids pool was quite cold, but apart from that we had a great time.

Went to the cafe Delcis (?) Next to gulf hotel laundry.
Food was mediocre. I had a sandwich. The contents of which were practically freezer cold..the fish and chips were disgusting..and to top it all so over priced!
Coffee was good. Staff very nice..mind you there was a girl in the laundry as we used it who was so painfully ignorant my jaw dropped to the ground..not a hello, goodbye or thank you, just stroppy.

It's one of the oldest hotel in Bahrain still has its charm which could be seen in the marble stairs and reception. Plenty of good restaurants inside and a Cigar lounge. The only ugly thing is someone decided to cover the huge pillars with a cheap plastic black marble look alike.

The check-in person was very professional and accommodating. It was obvious she cared about guests very much.

I had a lovely meal here with family and friends and the service was impeccable, from beginning to end.

Highly recommend a nice dinner for any occasion. We celebrated a birthday which the staff helped to make even more special by personalising the dessert & singing happy birthday.

Highly recommend the Gulf Hotel

Best hotel i have ever stayed. Helpful staff and best facilities. One thing that could be improved might be increasing the internet speed. Other than this, well done and i can guarantee its worth your dollars.

Clean and very beautiful hotel. Great location with so much to do in the hotel alone. Staff is helpful and super friendly, the lady that helped me, Kristen is her name I believe, from Austria was always ready to help, she deserves a raise. The spa, buffets and every restaurant are excellent. My go to place in Bahrain.

From the time I was picked up from the airport until the end of my trip the Gulf Hotel Bahrain was more than what I expected. The staff was very professional each time I was in contact from check in, concierge, housekeeping, spa and restaurants. The rooms and all facilities were cleaned and well maintained. The spa is a MUST if staying. Even if you’re not received spa service the thermal room itself is a treat. The hotel came highly recommended and if ever in Bahrain i will stay again.

I thought that I couldn't better better Crown Plaza, but yes, Gulf Hotel has surpassed my expectation. They staff was very attentive and the variety of food was wide. I would definitely go again. It cost 28bd including alcohol.
The serving areas were Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, carvery, Mexican plus desserts.

Cosy hotel. You will see what you expect to find in a 5 star hotel. Some of the restaurants inside are good. Parking could have been much better because it's almost all the unattended. No one there to guide the guests. May be it may of its case but whenever I visited I couldn't find anyone to give directions!

Great hotel with fantastic food and beverage offers. Impeccable and refreshing service! Brilliant meeting rooms as well. If you have time to relax there is a brand new SPA and a very good gym adjacent to the generous pool area.

9

Very attentive and friendly service from everyone. Fantastic food/bar option (10 restaurants, 3 bars, including a great sushi spot). The men's exercise area was well equipped and the locker room has a hot tub/sauna/steam room. Also a pool, squash, and tennis.

There were some strange quirks to the room (lights controlled by a bedside switchboard, weirdly small shower stall) and it is somewhat removed from the rest of the neighborhood. However the grand mosque is directly across the street and open to tourists (you will also not get woken up by the call to prayer).

Great hotel for people who want to have lots of options under one roof. Prices were perfectly reasonable too.

Luxury hotel with lots of restaurants in the hotel and its surroundings. You can see that this hotel has a past, some things needs maintenance. Shower not working completely. Also difficult to get a pleasant temperature in the shower. It is or burning hot or cold. Recommend to bring along plastic cups as you never know where the glass and porcelain cups have been. Service is OK, you can experience who is new to the job. Breakfast OK, expected bigger choice of food available but most demanded are there, like egg station, juices and some fruits.

Stayed in a two bedroom suite in the new part of the Hotel and it was excellent. As a traveler it was a welcome surprise to have a washer/dryer combo in the room. The suite was very well decorated, modern and clean, with both rooms having their own large bathrooms with all the modern conveniences for western travelers. The pool, restaurants, entertainment, and location made this hotel perfect for my first time in Bahrain. The staff were all very pleasant and not intrusive, which is not always the case, and were very pleased to chat quickly about travel and happy to give you information about local places that you may not have known about. Without a doubt would say here again.

Nice hotel! Love the entrance going to the reception as it has a very big chandelier in the middle making it truly beautiful. My mother spends most of her time doing her business meetings as she really finds it comfortable.

I booked the room directly from the hotel website which was the best deal with late checkout at1800. The lobby of the the hotel and the staff were impressive. The room was comfortable but the toilet though was clean but it was old and smelly at times. No socket for charging close to the bed. Room service and meeting facilities were wonderful. Fast checkout was swift and easy. Wonderful staff through out my stay. Main reason for not giving 5 stars because of the toilet, slow internet connection and no availability of a socket close to the bed.

Staff were very helpful and hospitable. They went extra mile to surprise my 3-year old son with a cake on his birthday. My family was very delighted. However, room was clean though it bed could be made more comfy. Nevertheless, pool was clean and very child-friendly. Breakfast was also very good.

I had a very pleasant stay at the Gulf Hotel. It's well located and very close to Adliyah, which is a really lovely neighborhood with lots of cafes and restaurants. The women's spa at the hotel also has excellent exercise facilities, including a great sauna, hot tub and steam room.

I would happily stay at the Gulf Hotel again, should I have business in Bahrain again!

Great hotel with amazing facilities and very spacious and comfortable rooms. The entrance feels the slightest bit dated but being an older hotel that's not a surprise and doesnt take away from the experience at all. Incredibly friendly staff. Highly recommend!

7

Enormous hotel with several excellent but pricey on-site restaurants. The bars and pool are fantastic and make it feel like a resort. Rooms are decent, well-appointed but small bathrooms. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and are keen on giving you a tour if you've never been there before. Take the tour, otherwise you'll get completely lost in this mega-hotel. The hotel is frequented mostly by Americans and Europeans, so for those groups it's almost like a little slice of home in the middle of the Gulf.

We would like to draw special attention to one of your staff members. Wude (works the pool bar area) is an exceptional employee. She has an incredible memory for her clients, greets everyone with a warm smile and kindness. She does her job efficiently and is always available when needed. She is the type of employee that any business would be lucky to have. She is a special person and we would like to recognize her.

We needed a quiet day away and the Gulf Hotel was the perfect spot. We checked in fairly late and had a drink and a sandwich at Sherlock's Pub and headed to Typhoon for a night cap by the pool. The hotel is within walking distance from the Adliya restaurants. We had breakfast and went rug shopping. We sat by the pool all day and relaxed. It was lovely. The hotel was extremely accommodating with a late check out. It was the perfect day.
