This hotel has definitely had its best years. It is all very very old and needs to be renovated a long time ago (incl. Fitness etc.)! The rooms are clean, but the price-performance ratio is extremely bad. However, the service orientation of the Night Auditor was outstanding.

The location was awesome, rooms were clean with beautiful balcony views.
Didn’t get a chance to dine at the restaurant unfortunately.

A little tired feel to the place but the chef sure knows how to cook meat. All dishes tender and tasty.

Hotel Metropol was really beautiful and clean.I stayed just for 1night but staff was really helpfull and nice prices was quite ok but for late check-out just 2,5h in plus for 50fr i see like a lot of money just my opinion. And hotel hasn't any swimming pool but fitness and sauna were available. 4 stars just because of price for late check out.

Excellent and convenient locations especially higher floors. Food is also good though less strictly vegetarian options.

Beautiful view, spacious rooms, no amenities and you have to sign a disclosure with conditions including if you spill water on bathroom floor you have to pay for it.
No air conditioners - only fans available at the hotel but the room gets hot. The staff was friendly but the conditions scare you.
If you want cutlery in your room you have got to pay for it. Not the food only the cutlery.
Decent average stay at the hotel.
Almost at the Center of the city so everything is nearby. The train station is 15 min walk from the hotel.

Hotel is in the center of town and there is a lot of tourist noise when you open the windows which is necessary because there is no air conditioning. Half of the staff is friendly and gracious and the other half exceptionally rude. Carlos the bartender blamed me for him forgetting what he had put in a drink when I simply asked him for a towel to help another family whose children had spilled something on the furniture. If I had been the manager he would have been fired on the spot. Overall hotel is plain and serviceable with out much charm and while not bad, you could do better.

Reasonable price, decent room size. However the internet was atrociously slow. Not impressed with the air cooling system for summer. Not that comfortable too be honest and slow internet. Other than that great location.

Patroned the restaurant on the top floor with panoramic view. It's really a hidden jewel. Very reasonably priced and the food quality is excellent.

Great location. Room a bit small. No irons or coffee in rooms; ironing can be done in the shared ironing room, and coffee can be obtained from the gym.

A good standard hotel . Big rooms with balconies and fab views. Staff are very good in general but the main barman was less impressive. Slow, lacked much personality and ive seen far better. Overall restaurant food was very good.

For luncheon I would highly recommend the PANORAMIC RESTAURANT TOP O'MET.

Wander straight through the lobby to the the lifts and aim for the top!

The service is excellent, the food of superb quality, and considering the location and panoramic view is great value, especially compared to other places near by. (It nothing else - go for a quick coffee, although you may then want lunch too!)

Good hotel overall and very close to the main street and the Interlaken train station. Friendly staff.
My problem with them were their rules which are told to guests at the time of check in.
1. Place the shower curtain inside the tub. If the floor gets wet then there is a 50CHF fine. For heavens sake..its a bathroom!
2. If you lose the keys, then there is a 10CHF charge. Who even does that now?

If not for these rules, it's a good place to stay!

Very friendly staff who were willing to go out of their way to help. The room was spacious and very clean. The free coffee was also very good. I would recommend this place to any weary travelers looking for a great place to stay.

The only reason to book this hotel is the perfect location facing the park (has activities) and have the easiest access to one of the best streets in interlaken that has a lot of shops and restaurants. Rooms are old and the decoration is outdated but clean. All rooms have balconies with a gorgeous view over the park and mountain views.

Good service, sweet soft spoken staff. Great buffet breakfast spread. Rooms are neat and clean, well kept. Easily accessible from train station and gives amazing views of the city from the rooms. definitely recommended for a romantic getaway!

excellent location near all the good restaurants. very friendly staff took care of all our needs. we stayed with our 4 month baby for 5 days and felt very comfortable. the mountain view rooms on the upper floors are totally worth it.

I stayed in the Metropole in March 2011 and loved the experience. The view of the mountainside from our room balcony was amazing, with the snow capped mountains in the background. Food (breakfast) was very good, though everything else was a bit pricey. Location is very close to the train station. Loved the overall experience.
