Once you arrive there hotel it's beautiful. The decor is grand and rustic. The staff was professional. The room was nice. Bathroom was small. Things that need to be upgraded: bathtub, bathroom doors, and the popcorn ceiling should be removed. Those improvements would make a big difference. Otherwise everything was nice. I liked that they have kitchens in their rooms and I loved the courtyard patio.

I was attending a conference, in Anaheim, and selected the Pepper Tree hotel for my four day stay. How excited was I about the private patio that would allow me to eat outside, paint and/or just relax. I had a problem with my room and they were quick to move me, although a comparable room was not available. The next day they moved me into a room like the one I'd originally reserved (king with patio). The Pepper Tree is not a fancy place but it is lovely, rustic and Spanish style. There are fountains and beautiful clay tiles, interspersed with carpet. I was so pleased with the customer service I received, until I asked for liquid creamer for my coffee. Apparently, their customer service does not extend to their "kitchen" or breakfast area staff. I was told liquid creamer would not be available to me until 7:00 am (it was 6:40 am.). Seriously? So I asked the front desk staff and was told the Kitchen Lady was "Lord of her domain" and I would have to abide by whatever she said. So this is what it comes down to... My pleasant stay was marred by my last memory of not being able to get cream for my coffee (I originally brought my own but ran out). Customer service should extend throughout all your staff. I gave three rather than four stars because my last experience was of having a simple request denied.

Rooms are very large and spacious although they could use a little bit of updating in the kitchen area and maybe the bathroom. I get that they're going for kind of rustic feel as far as the Ambiance goes but you can still update certain fixtures and maintain that style without just being old. breakfast is below average at best... it's just some muffins and pastries... All in all I think it is a good value but there's definitely room for improvement...

I am.enjoying the hotel so much. The ambience and service have been great. Comfortable room, basic kitchen area, good for basics, I would absolutely recommend it! Downside, breakfast is just cereal and pastries, parking is tight

We stayed for 5 days. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. Very convenient to shopping ,theme parks and great guest service . It had a old school feel and very lovely, quaint little hotel. I would recommend that you get a room where the flowers drape across the balcony. The only recommendation that I would make to the hotel would be upgrading some of the kitchen items. Sharpen the knives. A little touch up painting here and there. But loved the decor. The feel of the hotel and I would recommend this place in a heartbeat. Very charming. =)

Their excellent hospitality makes up for them not being super fancy. Plenty of parking, quiet, nice full-size kitchen, clean, homey. I really feel like I could comfortably live here, I'm glad I am staying here!

A nice place to stay, was traveling with family and kids and we all enjoyed it. There is a store across the street that makes it easy to go get snacks and drinks. They have a mini kitchen in the room which was very helpful. (microwave, toaster, fridge and freezer, stove, kitchen gadgets including a bottle opener) and a pool, it looked very nice but we didnt have time to go for a swim. All in all great time there, good place to stay would definitely go again.

My husband and I had a weekend get away at this marvelous secret in Anaheim. Our room was fantastic just as I imagined. Patio enclosed and private very relaxing. Staff was warm and welcoming. Restaurant Mariscos a few steps from hotel. Excellent value good food and very friendly. We would usually stay at a Embassy Suite no more. Happy wife happy life.

My two young children, made an incredible journey from southern Idaho, to Anaheim, CA in hopes of seeing a famous mouse and a princess castle. We arranged lodging at the Hotel Pepper Tree, because of it's proximity to the beautiful Huntington Beach, and many theme parks. As we arrived into the vaulted lobby, we were met with welcoming smiles accompanied by a quick, accurate, and informative check in process. We entered our suite to find unexpected comfort and subtle luxury. The amenities such as an onsite pool, access to hot chocolate 24 hours a day, and the friendliest staff in southern California, made me feel as if I had found a hidden gem. The rooms are comfortable, with a large glass windowed patio, soft and CLEAN beds, and kitchenette for simple meal prep. Our stay was a success, and our vacation enjoyed completely. The real value of this hotel, came after check out. 16 hours of battling L.A. freeways, the majestic Mojave desert, and the doldrums of Nevada to navigate to home came with the realization from a crushed 6 year old. She had left her favorite ball cap on the bed. When I attempted to call the hotel, to my surprise, they had already contacted me. I hurriedly made a connection, to confirm my mailing address, and the front desk attendant promptly returned a little girl's most prized possession. There can not be a better example of hospitality and care for guests. Thank you! IF you're traveling to Anaheim, and don't stay at this hotel, you've made a huge mistake. 10/10 will return, not for the theme parks, or beach views, but to treated so wonderfully anytime I'm in southern California.

A very quaint hotel. It is a little hard to spot but is in a good location to the Disneyland theme parks. Be careful if you go here for a rendezvous. The walls are very thin! We got a room that is a suite that included a kitchen. Utensils, plates and cookingware is included!

I liked the building! It's comfortable and looks really cool too. The bed was comfortable and the room was pretty big and had a little kitchen in it. Plus, it's close to Disneyland!

I had a nice stay here. The room was far larger than I anticipated! There was even a tea kettle on the stove.
I was worried about finding parking as I was at Disneyland late, luckily I still found a spot quite easily. They do have 24 hour reception in the case you need to check in late, they will add a note to your account.
I noticed a few comments about this being in a "bad area," I think those comments are from tourists unfamiliar with California. It is completely fine, most places in OC/LA County look like this.
It was about 15 minutes on the expressway to the Toy Story Parking lot, or 10 minutes on side streets to the Mickey & Friends Parking lot, which was super convenient.
I will say that the walls are very thin, I was woken up at 7:30 by people in the hallway. I think the doors just aren't sealed at the bottom like most hotels are, so the noise seeps in. In my case, it was good as my alarm didn't go off - but I'm sure most people want to sleep in on vacation.
All of the rooms appeared to have a balcony as well!
I wouldn't call it "rustic," much more "Mexican countryside." There is a Mexican restaurant right next door and a supermarket across the street. Target is also nearby.
One of my blankets appeared stained but I was too tired to get a new one.
Overall the stay was pretty good, I would definitely stay again.

This place was very nice and had a great home feel. The pool was very nice. The place is very clean and the rooms are lovely. The breakfast is the only thing which was kind of disappointing but they always have muffins coffee and fruit which make up for it.

It’s a very nice hotel! The location is great, the front desk is great. Although their breakfast need to improve. There is the only thing I need to remind people who want to bring their pets live in, they only take care about the small dog, not for cats~ I’m so sad to hear that;( Anyway!!!! It’s a really nice hotel for people who want to go to Disney and Knott’s farm~ Hope this will helpful~

Hotel
Was quaint and clean, which we loved. Rooms were spacious and had a full kitchen. Continental breakfast was deceiving based on their online photos. They appear to have a full breakfast but it was just fruit and pastries. If they had online photos that weren’t so deceiving I would have rated them higher.

Boutique hotel, excellent customer service, clean, comfortable, gorgeous rooms. We've stayed twice (once courtyard and once with a balcony) and would definitely book again.
Would rate 4.9 ONLY because we haven't tried their breakfast.
Electrical outlets are only on one side of the bed in both rooms we've stayed in, so bring a power strip and extension cord if that's your thing. Photos attached are of both rooms.

I have to say I was very impressed by it all. It is a very nice hotel. Staff was nice. The room was big enough for 2 people. And the fact it had a whole kitchen was even better. Service was great. And I loved the balcony. I also called in because i had arrived there before the booking time and that were very nice and had a room available in an hour. It was overall a cute little hotel. The neighborhood was not the best but it had nothing to do with the hotel I had no problem with it. I really recommend it.

This hotel is so cozy, and just the perfect place to stay a night. Not too expensive and most rooms come with a little kitchen set up so you can cook your own meals. Very homey feel, highly recommend staying there.

This is a good option to consider. The kitchen, room and service is good. But the complementary breakfast is horrible. Options are very limited. Fruit salad pieces are too big and not fresh. Flavored yogurt and Jam are in-house prepared it seems. Not sweet and does not appeal even to try. They look like paste in a bowl. If you are planning to book this hotel mainly to save some bucks on complementary breakfast, think again. If your requirement is just hotel stay, then I recommend

Our stay was great! One loss of star only for the sketchy-ish neighborhood all around it, but it wasn't too bad, and the hotel can hardly control that. Our room had character and was the perfect size for a 3-person girls' trip, with a king and a twin-sized bed. The courtyard was so cute, and the beds were decently comfortable. The continental breakfast was just that - no kind of protein except a little peanut butter, but the eggs and bacon I ordered from the restaurant were good. The staff was helpful and pleasant. The pool looked very nice and was warm, but we didn't get a chance to try it. Also, the staff was great at communication before our stay, and answered several questions thoroughly for us!

Stayed there for 5 nights with the family for a visit in Disneyland. The place is in excellent location with a supermarket across the street. Clean and comfy. Staff is nice. The kitchen in the room really helps. The breakfast, however, was not great and soon enough we used the kitchen for that. Otherwise, a top place to stay with the family in Anaheim. Great value, highly recommended.

This is my go to hotel when I visit Disneyland. It's the perfect place if you plan to park at the resort; It's just a few exits down. The rooms are spacious and have a full kitchen, beds are comfy, and the decor is cozy.

We absolutely love this Hotel. There is no other hotel for us in the area. We have been visiting this hotel for a couple of years now and find the staff and facilities the best here. Having a kitchen available in our rooms is super important as we have a child who is tube dependent for her nutrition and we can ensure that her foods stay cold for our whole trip.

Thank you Hotel Peppertree for fitting the need we have. You guys are the best!!!!

Location was a little difficult to find - it is covered by trees. I actually drove past it the first time around. Continental breakfast was sparse. Toast, donuts, fruit, and cereal. Having a kitchenette is very nice though. It comes fully stocked with pots, pans, knives, and utensils.

Hotel is really nice. We got a king room with a little patio. And a "fully loaded kitchen". However I do miss a few items in the kitchen, but all in all really nice. Check in was a breeze and we got access to our room Two hours before the ordinary checkin time.. Nice.. Pool is nice , but very few chairs and tables. And kinda noisy. But hey.. Kids will be kids. AC works fine so not to much to complaint about

I've been here twice and been impressed with the effect put into ambiance and comfort. The decor is charming and the rooms are so spacious that the TV seems far away. Their pet policy, large bathroom, and the full kitchen also make it a good choice. Don't bother with the breakfast, and you may be surprised by added resort fee and pet fee. Well worth it for the comfort though.

Very cozy cute comfy Romantic and quaint. Overall I really enjoyed myself. Staff was always wonderful. The continental breakfast wasn't very good I'd have to say. It was at the restaurant in the parking lot. I really didn't care for that place I mean the food was decent I suppose but the staff who there at the restaurant was very rude I felt. No direction when entering the place and no hi good morning or anything except a quick stare and then I'm completely ignored. It was real wierd. Anyways aside from that I loved it. Thank God the staff are different in each of the establishments.

Absolutely love this hotel. The prices are very affordable for the amenities. Continental breakfast is great with the option for an upgrade with a reasonable fee. The rooms are comfy and enjoyable. We've stayed several times and the staff has always been warm and friendly. Great location for several parks; you can take easy surface streets and avoid the freeways. Can not recommend this hotel enough.

I stayed here for 3 nights with my husband on our honeymoon and i was not pleased. First when we came into the room we couldn't find any trash cans. Second, the patio door wouldn't open unless you pulled really hard and it made a very loud noise. Third, there was no dresser space to put our clothes. Fourth, there was no night stands by the bed. Fifth, the bed was really uncomfortable. Lastly, there was no hot tub at the pool. I expected more from the high rating reviews that i've seen on here. I gave it two stars because it was close to Disneyland and had a free small/light breakfast option.

Hotel Pepper Tree came through in a pinch, after having to quickly cancel a reservation made months in advance in a near by chain hotel. When I requested a Double Queen room with a patio, I was advised that the room he had available may not be the most desirable due to a dog in a near by room. I appreciated the warning, but have yet to see or hear said dog.

The room is cozy, clean and private. The customer service has been prompt and friendly! The full kitchen is great for meals before Disneyland and the full size refrigerator is perfect for leftovers and ample beverages. We will definitely book here again!

Best Hotel in Anaheim California, the price is apt for the space the rooms have as well as its location. its so close to Disneyland and to Knott's Berry Farm. The balcony privacy wall on the first floor is actually decent size unlike other hotels. Maid service was excellent and the customer service staff at the Front desk were wonderful. All smiles, and no worries, and answered all my questions accordingly. If you need to travel to this part of town, definitely stay here, i highly recommend it. Top-Notch hotel and again, excellent service, thank you!

Nice spacious room at a great rate. Friendly service and helpful when needed. Nice kitchen to be able to cook full meals stocked with pots, pans and a set of dishes. A full size fridge with a freezer which can store groceries, champagne and that late night favorite a gallon if ice cream :-). At times felt that the other guests could be heard walking in their rooms so it can use a bit of sound proofing. But a good place to stay that is not in the busy Disneyland Resort area. The restaurant, The Scratch Room, is a must try for breakfast located in the shopping center next door. Uber ride to Disneyland was on average $8 per trip.

This place may be the best kept secret in Anaheim. Although the GPS takes you around the freeway to get to it, there are easy surface street ways to get there in a few minutes. It's not your run-of-the-mill chain hotel. Great decor, easy in and out, nice restaurant in front where breakfast is served, very comfortable and friendly atmosphere. Lots of stores and other commercial services s (banks, gas, pharm, etc.) nearby for whatever you need. Management direct and helpful.

We stayed here for several days and found it more than adequate. There is a staff member available 24 hours a day that was always polite and courteous no matter what hour it was when we approached them. The rooms are comfortable and cozy and there is a small breakfast available every morning at the adjacent restaurant. Best of all, the hotel has plentiful free parking.

We stayed here over the Labor Day weekend 2016. We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and beds were pretty comfy. Loved that the room had a kitchen. Staff was super nice and parking is great. I was worried about the area the hotel is located. But turns out it wasn't bad. Very close to Disneyland and about 20 minutes from Huntington Beach. Would definitely stay here again. Only downside was you could hear people in the hall very clearly and there is not top latch lock on door. Also the people staying above us sounded like they were constantly moving furniture around. Overall nice hotel for the price!

Absolutely loved hotel pepper tree. They put the smile in service with a smile. Or first time there was phenomenal. This time there was some minor problems with the plumbing in term of inconsistent temperature of the shower. My car was also broken into with a car jack, but nothing too important was stolen.

Room was a nice size and comfortable. Hotel seemed clean. Didn't have any issues so not much about the staff interactions, but check in was very quick and easy. My only complaint was that the continental breakfast was in the seafood restaurant out front. Had a strong seafood odor which is a little of turning for breakfast. Overall though, the hotel is very nice.

7

Overall I would come back due to the great service (front desk and even housekeeping was very friendly), ambience (decorated for Halloween), continental breakfast, and kitchen. The room had plenty of room and the balcony was nice to relax on. Considering what the price was per night, this was an excellent value and will be a top consideration on my next visit.

A few things to improve:
1) Showers had no pressure and temperature fluctuated every few seconds between scorching hot to ice cold. It took forever to take a shower and we never felt fully clean. It seems the water usage of other rooms affected our shower. If the showers had been better we would have given 5/5 and turned the "probably" into a "definitely".
2) The complimentary wine was thoughtful and appreciated, however a wine cork opener in the kitchen would have helped us to be able to enjoy it the night we checked in.
3) The WIFI connection is soooo slow! Free WIFI is a good selling point when looking at hotels, but it needs to work.

Again, the positive things listed above made the difference between a 4/5 and a 3/5, but the plumbing really needs updated. Until then, this will be in the top 5 places I'll consider for next visit.
