Green Key Eco-Rating Program 4

With more than 1,200 hotels certified in Canada since its inception in the 1990s, the Green Key Eco-Rating Program awards hotels an environmental rating of one to five Green Keys. Green Key members are then given guidance on how to "unlock" opportunities to reduce operating costs and environmental impacts - and in turn earn more keys.

The Green Key audit looks at nine major areas of sustainable hotel operations:
• Energy conservation
• Water conservation
• Solid waste management
• Hazardous waste management
• Indoor air quality
• Community outreach
• Building infrastructure

Rooms were perfect and always exceptionally clean! Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Overall very wonderful hotel experience! I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

If I had to choose something to change, it would be to have adult swim hours for the pool area. It's very hard to unwind after work with screaming kids running around all hours of the day.

Beautiful. Attended a wedding reception. The food was beyond exceptional. It was deliciously savoring good! Served hot! Desert was 3 different slices cheese cake. Mmmm... Never cut a steak with a butter knife until that night! So tender. Great place to hold a reception.

What a beautiful hotel! Room was clean and modern and we had a blast at the pool night swimming. What I appreciated the most was the help from the front desk - my fiance and I both came down with a bad cold and figured we'd ask for bit later checkout so we could sleep in. The gentleman not only granted that to us, but offered us some DayQuil which really did help. That's going above and beyond! Thanks for the wonderful stay.

The hotel itself was great. Some of the front desk people could be friendlier or smile more. The valet guys and bartenders were very nice and knowledgeable about the area. The room could definitely be nicer as far as completely finishing the paint job and fixing minor damages. They we're very clean though and the view of the water is unbeatable.

Very nice hotel. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast is overpriced, but it was pretty good. Pool area is large and relaxing with the sounds of the waterfall. You can't actually see the bay from the rooms due to the surrounding hotels but the atmosphere on the balconies is still nice and relaxing. Within walking distance to shops and restaurants in downtown Sarasota.

We like to come here by boat and to spend the weekend. Beautiful pool and pool bar. Rooms are spacious and balconies have great view. Good food and drinks. Very accommodating taking you to St. Armonds and downtown Sarasota. Plenty to do to keep busy.

My all time favorite Hyatt Regency. This one is absolutely marvelous! Great service, awesome rooms. Amazing view from every room! Fantastic restaurant and breakfast! Pool and jacuzzi with waterfall is spectacular! You will love this one! Sarasota is a must see City as well!

Hidden, nice quiet location. The hotel was very clean and the staff helpful. The pool and hot tub are great and enclosed in your stay is access to kayaks, paddle boats, and fishing. The only complaints I have are the elevators. It can be difficult to tell which side will open, that's it, we will be coming back.

Great place to stay. Friendly, clean, and safe. The hotel met all are needs. Convenient to the downtown area. We (wife and I) spent as much time in the pool as possible. The pool was quite and relaxing while we floated about chit chatting with people. We ordered a Chicago style pizza the last night and ate it with friends sitting next to a nice warming fire down by the pool. We will be back.

Views, pool and free gear for kayaking and fishing was the plus. . Internet was very slow, mostly not working. Breakfast was so so. We were served burnt breads. Upon request they provided fresh new toasts though. Dinner was good but a bit expensive.

Parking is free. Friendly staff. They need to improve wifi, breakfast. Renovation is needed as well. I hear they are renovating which is a good thing.

Stayed here last weekend. The immediate area is undergoing some construction, but the hotel itself is lovely and top quality. Very clean and quiet rooms, gorgeous lobby. The pool area is tropical, but this is not a beach hotel; more like a city hotel, but it is not easy to walk to downtown. Still about half price from the Ritz Carlton next door. Not a fan of daily $24 resort fee, though.

I attended marketing on Main event at the Hyatt Regency and was thoroughly impressed with the event and the Hyatt services! A thoroughly enjoyable event, meeting wonderful people and promoted by a wonderful lady! Lots of fun and I plan on attending this event on a monthly basis! Thanks to the Hyatt for hosting this event in your luxurious establishment!

Attended a conference at this hotel. Decorated with pretty waterfalls. Staff very helpful. A few in our group had specific needs and the staff was on top of it. The food was good.

The pool area is beautiful. I loved the setting and relaxed atmosphere.

I left very expensive jewelry in the room. It was turned in and they held it until I could get back to Sarasota, almost a month. Didn't want to risk shipping it, since it is sentimental. Redeeming qualities. Quick turnaround business trip arriving at 1 am and checking out at 7 am. Too tired to complain, but room was filthy (stray hair, as if a pet had been in the room and dirty tile, turning towels black when I wiped it, kept my shoes on). View was great and lobby inviting. Did not use amenities.

We attended a beautiful banquet to benefit the Solve Maternity Homes . Through God's Love, Solve serves women & teens that are pregnant and in need of housing, life correction, and preparation for motherhood. Some babies were lovingly released for adoption. The gala celebrated 42 years of saving babies & mothers from the abortion holocaust. Here in Florida we have the finest continuum of care for unwed mothers in the whole nation.

Nice locale. Good staff. Nice pool and grounds but rooms need a little refresher and tlc. Ergo my 4 stars not 5. Didn't try the food so can't comment but lots of places to eat around the hotel.

Great Stay. Great Family Friendly Hotel. The only thing that would have made it better was if it was on the beach, but there's a complimentary shuttle: to the beach, to St. Armond Circle, and to old town so no worries. The pool your children are sure to love with a zero entry pool and massive waterfalls, hot tub for the adults. And I have to say, it was a great bang for my buck here in Sarasota! The fitness center was well equipped (if you don't feel like running along the water) free bicycles (St. Armond is only 2.5 miles away), kayak rentals and more. Very friendly and helpful staff, felt right at home. I'll be back.

We were here for a holiday party of my wife's company.
The Ball room was nice and modern and food was great, especially the tequila based shrimp and the rib eye.
The staff was courteous and helpful. When my friend lost her car keys, they searched it everywhere and were willing to make an announcement in the party.
Would consider planning an event here.

Room was King Balcony with Marina view very nice.
The bartender was not so nice, when asked to remake a mojito. She did not want to muttle the mint so when I asked her to redo it she still made it wrong to spite me.
The valet parking leaves you're car out and open in the elements even though the self parking is covered... And no offense but the valets see in no hurry to get your car.. Never seen valets that walk before but Hyatt has plenty of them.
I only bring this up because my car got covered in some kind of white spots and when I brought it to the valet did nothing about it. The white spots were worse the next day. Don't valet.
Manager or me on hold twice without explanation when calling to discuss spots and then I had to ask her to refund the valet charge.

The facility is slightly dated. The design is not always contemporary. But the staff is friendly and efficient.

There was the weird noise in the middle of the night from my neighbors. It did not occur the second night after I complained to the front desk.

I had some problem with their billings.

A solid hotel. Close to downtown, with restaurants and bars. However, the buffet is pretty anemic. Cold food that should be hot. Bread on the verge of being stale. We were told at the desk we could take a cooler and drink to the pool so long as it wasn't glass. Then we were told by staff to take our cooler back to the room. We're in our 40s. We aren't teenagers. But whatever. It's fine.

Upon check-in was told that there was a resort fee for the pool. I was told that for EACH day I USED the pool it would be about a $20 charge. Upon checkout I was charged for two resort fees even though I only used the pool once. I was told by the Night auditor that nothing could be done and that I would have to pay even if I didn't use the pool. So I ended up paying $40 for a few hours in the pool. In all honesty had I known CLEARLY what the charge was I would have declined and opted the beach since it's FREE. Other than that the customer service was wonderful but all of that can be ruined with a mishap such as this one.

Pretty nice place. Charge you for everything like it's the Ritz but they do do their best to make sure you want for nothing.. the pool is great! IMO, get a room with a balcony.

8

Hotel is tucked away down a fairly quiet street so you'll not be disturbed too much at night which is always a bonus. However this means you're a little way away from the downtown area so your car will be needed.
Pool area is nice, some say it's the best hotel pool in Sarasota. Reception was efficient but the bar area was a bit understaffed when I was there after 10pm. Breakfast buffet was pretty good.
My room was west facing so had the sunset view in the evening. Be warned the patio door to the balcony had a high metal frame off the floor; boy did it hurt when I banged my toe on it. Wasn't happy!!

9

Excellent Hotel venue for a business conference, except I stayed at the wonderful pool and let my wife attend the meeting. Although not in the beach is waterfront and the views from our room in the 10th floor were beautiful. The pool area is nice and the pool service great, you could try the "category 5 " rum punch and fall into oblivion or try the spiked Arnold Palmer. The rooms are spacious and the lobby modern and elegant. The resort fee gives you internet and other services like free kayaks. If you prefer sand the shuttle will take you to lido beach and St Armand's circle

Staff has been absolutely amazing. Very helpful, and always someone nearby. The pool in beautiful, and woke it's a little too hot this time of year, the firepit area is awesome. It does need a little tlc. There's some places that definitely haven't been cleaned in a while in the common areas, though the rooms themselves are clean. Will definitely come again.

Superb hotel resort. Beautiful pool area and recreational options. You can fish, kayak, standing paddle board, and biking.

A free shuttle to Lido Key beach is available. Keep in mind it is on a schedule and only comes every 4 hours. Uber driver are plentiful however if you need a quick ride.

This hotel is great and everything you expect from a Hyatt property. The arrival experience was great - from the valet staff (shout out to Ron - his customer service skills are top notch!) to the front desk staff. The rooms are modern and roomy. I had a king balcony room with a view of the marina and pool which was nice. The pool is great with nice lounge chairs and the towels are large and soft. There is a waterfall area and a poolside bar with food service. The gym is nice with the usual machines, mats, and a good selection of weights. An added bonus is the fridge with cold, wet towels to cool down with. This property is definitely recommended

Great location and lobby. Would def not rate this as a 4 star hotel. Bathroom was standard (tub/shower) and not even that clean. Rest of the room was adequate for a 4 star hotel but just barely. Activities are nice though with kayaks and bikes offered for free ($18 resort fee per day).

Hyatt in Sarasota is a beautiful hotel in an excellent location right on the water. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. There are free activities for overnight guests such as kyakking and paddle boards. The pool is the best hotel pool in town by far. If you can afford it, the bi-level suites are an amazing treat.

Fairly good, but bit of a quiet and slightly remote area – for me anyway. Would expect the bathrooms to be of better standard in this kind of hotel (control levers fall-off and are just balanced on, that said I stayed in Marina Bay Sands once and the toilet was broke, so...). Parking could be more secure.

Generally pleasant, friendly and understanding staff.

Would also rather to option to not have the additional compulsory facilities use charge.

The hotel is beautiful, the staff are wonderful, and we had a great time hosting our fundraiser gala. My only concern was the samba dancers didn't have a truly private room to change in - they had to use the same room our food was set up in. Also, one of our working rooms was very dark, although they got us more light as soon as we asked.

I have lived in SRQ for over a decade and stayed here as we needed accommodation between house moves.

Quality hotel on our doorstep, not too big, decorated very well, friendly staff.

In my personal view the best hotel in Sarasota, for value and experience.

We will be back for a staycation very soon.

Good hotel for the price. Comfortable sized rooms for 1-2 guests (king bed room), views of the pool and marina. Food is not great but desserts are good. Drinks are a little watered down tasting. Staff is friendly with a moderate level of service training, I.e. It's not the Ritz. Would recommend for business our budget conscious travelers not looking for too many frills.

great location, everything is close to this building. bathrooms are the only complaint here because of space issues. but, if you're in it just to use the bathroom and not have a party, then what's the complaint? great pool lounge and nice view if you are on marina side.

I've stayed at this Hotel several times over the years and it's very enjoyable. There are fantastic views. On the south side is the Marina and on the North side of the building is Sarasota bay with the Van Wezel Auditorium just across the street. Sitting in the pool to watch a movie with the kids is just plain fun. Total Koatings, our local family business has been fortunate enough to be chosen as the preferred vendor to refinish some of their bathtubs, as well as do some chip repairs for them. I highly recommend this establishment if you want an upscale lodging experience in downtown Sarasota.

Very disappointed at my stay. I had to report an unclean bathroom, black hairs in the bathroom and in the shower, additionally very high prices, $40 for an 8oz glass of wine. I was also was disappointed in the nickel and dime approach they have everything from "hotel fee" which included 2 bottled waters a day to valet parking. Would not stay here again.

At the Hyatt Regency the service and facilities were top notch. The staff was attentive to the needs of their guests and nothing short of excellent service was provided. The maintenance of the hotel and grounds showed the care and competency of its employees. While there I ate three meals and at each there were vegetarian and gluten-free options, which shows the willingness of the hotel to serve its guests. I would reccommend this hotel to anyone!

My family stayed at this Hyatt while we were in town for a funeral. I had excellent service from the front desk and house keeping, the rooms were clean and the whole hotel felt fresh. The pool was lovely and the outdoor bar was nice. We didn't mind the resort fee as it included kayak rentals and fishing, which was actually a good deal compared to local rental shops. What was really nice was a secluded alcove that is adjacent to the lobby which is set up with large tables and a sort of living room area where our family was able to gather to prepare memory boards and hang out while at the hotel. The food was also good.
