Clean, priced right, comfortable, sadly still had carpets as of date of posting this comment. Good place to stay for a night or week.

Our stay this past weekend at the Millennium Durham was wonderful. Auxie helped make my surprise anniversary for my husband special with one of their beautiful suites. Thank you so much Auxie and the crew.

Checked on for a short stay and my daughter was admitted to Duke hospital. The staff went above and beyond to do everything they could to assist in one of the most difficult times of our lives. The hotel was centrally located and safe. The rooms were clean and quiet. The maid service was very accommodating ,the clerk at the front desk treated me like family and the general manager made sure my stay was comfortable. Instead of feeling alone and apprehensive I found I was among friends!. Highly recommend this hotel and employees!

The online description for these rooms are nowhere near accurate. There's no microwave, no Keurig coffee maker and although there was a refrigerator, it didn't work. The quality of the rooms of everyone in our party was that of a Motel 6.
We were staying in Durham during Duke University Freshman move-in week and the University organizers shook their heads when we told them we were staying at The Millennium. Evidently this hotel was removed from the University recommended list of "places to stay" because of so many complaints. I gave them 4 stars because it was clean, comfortable and the staff was so polite and tried several times to get me a refrigerator that worked.

No room service available. No coffee maker in room. No complimentary coffee in hotel anywhere. Forced to purchase overpriced cup from the restaurant. This was about as barebones as it comes. At least the bed was comfortable. I won't be staying there again though...

Great location, nice hotel, rooms are clean. Hotel feels a little overdue for renovations in some areas like hallway carpets and elevation decor. Restaurant prices are higher than I expected and the menu has few choices but what they do have is excellent. Banquet/meeting facilities are excellent.

We have been staying here for the last 10 years. The only place we stay when we come to Durham. The rooms are always clean. Staff is so wonderful. Have never had a problem.

I used to absolutely love the Millennium but lately the changes they are making are horrible. They took away all the coffee machines in the rooms, now there is no safes, there is no microwaves (which highly effects me due to my limited dietary needs), all the best employees are no longer working there, only 1 ice machine in the entire building but after saying all of that I will say most the employees that still work there are extremely nice. I just hope some of these negative changes will one day be corrected. I definitely think that will help draw more customers.

The extensive construction and lack of screens on the windows were a bit distracting. The bartender wasn’t the friendliest either. The rest of the staff were great, however, and the beds were very comfortable. Spacious rooms were nice to spread out into. Too bad they no longer have a pool:(

The hotel doesn't advertise, so it's hard to find. The bathrooms still have old porcelain tubs. The sink area is small. The hotel is being renovated and the renovated rooms are nice. They have a restaurant and bar. They have conference rooms. They have a nice indoor pool. They have prompt friendly maintenance and on site security. There is plenty of security. They do business with Duke Hospital and Sleep Center and the VA.

The hotel was amazing- tho under some construction, the lobby, restaurant and bar were beautifully adorned, cozy and classy. The room was immaculate and the bed so comfortable it should be a crime. 10/10 will return

There is nothing wrong with this hotel, but the night before we were at another hotel right around the corner. My daughter is having double knee surgery an due to the weather it was best to make it closer to the hospital. We had to stay an extra day so the surgery center paid for this hotel because where we were staying couldn't charge rooms through their service. Well, where we left from we received a full breakfast- Waffles, eggs, sausage, cream cheese Danish of all kinds, cereal, all types of juice and as much as you liked FREE. It's 3 of us an a baby so things can get expensive being that I'm on disability. Here it was twice the price with no complimentary breakfast. If you wanted it the price was 17$ per person for not even every thing I stated above. The pool an hot tub were under construction, not that we were getting in, but other patrons wished to. For $119 you would think you would have a breakfast an more than one sugar packet for coffee. I figured going to a more expensive place would come with better amenities so I went in thinking that. Sometimes bigger isn't better

It was very clean. Thumbs up to the staff, they were awesome. Was very disappointed that the fitness room was very much misrepresented. Two treadmills hardly qualifies as a fitness room.

This is one of Duke's go to hotels, and on that note is a decent one. Comfy and classy, if aging a bit. I'd lean towards 3 1/2 stars moreso than 4.

The hotel is in a great location with easy access to the highway. The food was okay, and the service was nothing special. I found nail clippings in u bed, and my daughter found cigars under her bed.

This hotel was spread horizontally rather than vertically like many hotels, so there was a lot of walking involved to get to our room. The elevator was difficult to find, and one of my friends got lost trying to find it. The room itself was decent. The sheets and pillows did not feel particularly clean, although they weren't dirty either. The bathroom door did not appear to have a lock? We did not try the shower. However, the bathroom was quite large and conveniently had 2 counters. There was also a mirror outside the bathroom, so there was plenty of space for 5 girls to get ready simultaneously. The room also included a mini fridge, which was nice.

9

My stay was actually for the medical side of the hotel. I had to do a sleep study, but if all the rooms in the hotel were as nice as that one, then it would be worth the visit. Decent size room, a separate vanity sink not in the bathroom plus a sink in the bathroom and also they provide other appliances, such as a hairdryer. Very few places I have stayed had something like that and this place is worth the visit.

Beautiful hotel. Really enjoyed staying here. The renovations are beautiful. The staff is exceptional. The room was beautiful and comfortable. This hotel was nicer than some of those supposedly "five star" hotels. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is staying in the Durham area. Thank you Millennium and staff for an exceptional experience.

Very nice for the price paid. Low end of "3 star hotel" (exterior decor and room decor was underwhelming, save for the suave check in area), but kicks the pants off of any 2 star hotel and yet is cheaper than most 2 star hotels. Service was great too.

Having been to many events, but never spending the night because I am a local, I can attest to the meeting and dining facilities which are wonderful, clean and in various sized rooms for your event. Give them a call. They are convenient to Hwy 15-501 at Moreene Rd

This is not the first time I stayed at this hotel. It is very nice when they are not in the process of remodeling the hotel. I see that they are well on their way to have even more style and grace. I just hope and pray that after all the renovations that the price doesn't go through the roof. My daughter really enjoyed herself and so did her friends. I do hope that they remodeling the pool to be larger. That would be nice as well.

I've been coming to this hotel for over a year for training. Its not the best, but its far from the worst. Thank god for the staff that have been here that long like Sarah and Teddy. I'm still wondering what happened to the old GM John. Things seemed to flow better when he was here. The new faces are friendly and take everything in stride. The new management is very accommodating and does her best under the circumstances. The hot tub has been out for over a year now, the work out facility is non existent (but the optional off site gym is right down the street), the food has its good days and bad days (just like anything else, ask your staff for direction). Make the most out of your stay, because ultimately your experience is what you make of it.
On a side note, use your safe.

Great location, but under going a Major renovation, which is way past due. The area is very close to Duke Hospital and it's clinics. The shuttle bus is too notch as well as the drivers. They go out of their way to make sure that you know exactly where to go and they will pick you up immediately, of course they're a great source of information. I will stay here again, especially once the work is completed

I booked in the Millennium because of its location close to Duke. This hotel is very dated, they are undergoing renovations. The price is good, the room is larger then the norm for this price. The bathroom is SMALL, the fixtures are rusty, the hot water scoldes you then goes normal, then scoldes you etc. the fan in the bathroom runs 24-7-365 and you can't turn them off, all in the hotel. I told the front desk and they said they are all likes this on purpose and can't be turned off because of the renovations, so you have to listen to it all night long. If any of these issues are a concern don't stay here until the renovations are complete.

The hotel is located very close to Duke and VA hospital. If you are a veteran and here for medical reasons the hotel works with the VA hospital to provide you A free one night stay and if you have to stay longer it is at a very reduced rate. The hotel provides a free shuttle service to take you to the hospital are stores and restaurants in the surrounding area. The rooms are very clean the staff is very friendly and overall it is a very nice place to stay.

Rooms are always to far for a veteran to walk to. Parking lot was nearly empty, I asked for a closer room and was told they were booked. Didn't believe that! No refrigerator or microwaves in room. Water hard to adjust in shower. Breakfast is a la carte, can be expensive. Not our favorite place to stay.

We stayed at this hotel on a Sunday for 1 night in room 357. The lobby area looked nice enough but after that it was quite disappointing. Out in the parking lot there were approximately a dozen cars and yet our room was up an elevator and down 2 long hallways right next to a curtain blocking the area where the hotel construction was going on. I'm sure they weren't that busy so a closer room would have been nice. Also the shower was a nightmare!! First the shower handle was so moldy I used a hand towel to turn it. Second the water temperature is horrendous!! Once you get it to the temperature you like it automatically goes to scalding hot then it goes from scalding hot to cold then once you adjust it the cycle starts again. Be careful you really can get badly burned while showering. And 1 more thing. Our WiFi did not work. After reporting this to the front desk they sent someone up to our room. That tech person asked me what devices I was using then used the phone in my room to call another tech guy - he handed me the phone to talk to this guy and left. I was disappointed because at the end this guy on the phone said that he could not help me and that he would get a supervisor to look at the issue and will report this to the hotel and that it should be about an hour to get the WiFi to work, so I waited and waited then after 3 hours I just went to bed. Quite upsetting!! I dont think I'll be staying here again and I am a YELPPER so I will pass this on on YELP with pictures.

Stayed here several times while my husband has had doctor's appointments. Great staff, especially Mr. John and Ms.Azu. Not sure of all the staff names, but super pleasant. Everything may not be perfect, but they work hard to rectify any issues, and provide excellent customer service. In the process of renovation, so some things are dated, but the good rates, and great area make up for it. Shuttle service available. Overall clean, and spacious. Not only do they offer a medical rate, my husband is a Veteran and he receives a complimentary breakfast at the restaurant inside the hotel! So thoughtful.
