Second time staying here. No complaints other than the ac not working but everything else was good. Helped save money when traveling with a pet since other hotels wanted 45$+ pet fee.

This was the cheapest place to stay at the time of my visit while hiking the PCT. All in all not a bad place to stay especially for the price considering almost every other place in Mammoth is double or triple in cost. My only complaints are that my rooms air conditioning hardly worked (if it even did) and no shampoo or conditioner was provided in my room and only bar soap stocked. To be fair I’m sure if I had asked for a different room with working air they would have accommodated me along with providing shampoo and conditioner but I didn’t want to go through the hassle of switching rooms after getting settled in.

For those like me trying to save money I would definitely recommend staying here but if money isn’t so much a concern then you might want to consider other options. It should be noted my room was very clean, free of any funky smells, the property was safe and quiet, and the staff was extremely professional and courteous. My review is based on my own experiences and not meant to discourage or detour others from staying here.

I stayed here during a snowboarding trip and the location was perfect. Shuttles are available to go up to the slopes and one of the stops is right outside the Motel 6. Because of how short the drive to the lifts was, I decided to drive. The Motel 6 has plenty of parking, and very comfortable rooms. I’ve stayed here plenty of times, and I’m never disappointed. The super warm, adjustable, heater in the room kept my riding gear dry and warm before every use. Never ending hot water makes showers enjoyable. Complimentary hot coffee and tea was a nice treat for those cold Mountain morning. 24hr access to vending machines, and microwave made reheating meals super easy. This location is walking distance to plenty of good places to eat, shop, and ride. Also, being one of the most affordable places to stay in Mammoth Lakes, what else does anyone need? *Thumbs up Motel 6*

Nice room, clean, comfortable and super quiet. My room was in the back with a nice view of trees and houses. Friendly service at front desk. Pool small but great for a short dip. Great price too and could have my dog with me. My only complaint is that the Wifi was a little slow and was completely unavailable my last night there.

The rooms were clean and a decent size. Beds were comfortable. They were not amazing, but I wasn't expecting that with a motel 6. They didn't seem to have a blow dryer or iron in the room so I'm not sure if that is available. They have a microwave you can use next the ice machine and vending machines located in the room next to the office. They have a pool that is currently under maintenance and doggie potty areas with potty bags. The surrounding area is beautiful. The office is immediately to your right when you turn in and drive up the hill. There didn't seem to be a sign and I drove the wrong way and took a tour of the entire motel.

The hotel was in an amazing place. It was clean and the beds were cozy. Unfortunately, our room was right next to the electrical room and it was extremely noisy at night. The AC was also blowing warm air as well. They did offer to change our rooms, but it was very late and my grandma and I did not have the energy to repack and move. The staff was nice and it was great we could bring our pet. The price was great as well. I would stay again, just in a different.

Great Value when traveling with our dog. The rooms are CLEAN and with no rugs (nice laminate floors) do not get dirty from dog visitors:) Excellent location, friendly staff, reasonable price .... the 5-stars is for VALUE, not luxury. But if you have a dog it is the best place to stay. Even if you don't have a dog it is still a good deal.

Weekend get away in Mammoth with the wife. We travel with our dog and have stayed at M6 in several cities with our dog.
I like the remodeled rooms. Bed was comfortable, the hard flooring is a good choice. Easier to clean. I like the tub shower combo with the ceiling included. Looked fresh and clean. I asked for the backside 1st floor which is nice with the dog. Outside landscaping and grounds were in good condition. The only thing is the bed platform is wider than the bed and hits me in the shins. Maybe a sign in the rooms about food left in cars in a bear area. Otherwise we had a good time

The price of this hotel is very good considering its in a resort town in California. The room had a cozy mountain feeling to it, and it definitely felt more luxurious than your average motel 6. Plus, this hotel offers a spectacular view of the mountain. If your looking for affordable hotel to stay at, I definitely recommend this one. Be forewarned, the hotel rate per night is still around $100, but its totally worth it. Plus, its about an hour away from Yosemite, and I found this is probably the closest affordable hotel near that park.

More cramped than other motel 6 I have gone too, with exception of the bath tub. It was larger than most and my 6' + son appreciated that very much.
The stairs I can see being good in winter, but freaked out my dog because they were not solid.

Was hard to locate temperature monitoring station/device...maybe too close to a bed?

I mainly recommend because of pet friendliness.

As compared to other Motel 6 locations, the morning coffee was not very good.

The staff was a mixed bag. One very friendly, the other okay, but going through motions, got feeling would rather be elsewhere...but nothing bad.

Was good to get some shut eye and clean up for the road, but a bit too cozy for my liking to really relax with my crew.

For a motel 6 which usually most places isn't very clean and doesn't have a decent location away from loud freeways, this place is actually great. Located in the woods with sounds of nature, near the main street located fee steps from everything. Front desk staff is super nice, beds are fairly comfortable and for the price you cant really bear it. Anyone that rates this place 2 or 3 stars expects a lot more and should probably spend a lot more to get that

The room price was very reasonable and since it was low cost, my expectations were also low. The room was clean and the staff was friendly, so no complaints with that. I would describe the room as being like a college door room. It had everything I needed and was functional, definitely not fancy. The scoring went from Average then down to Poor. I don't want to give the place a Poor rating, I got what I paid for. It was clean and functional.

The location is fairly convenient with shuttle stops close by. The area is well maintained, and the staff is friendly. This is a Motel6, a no frills, place to sleep, lower price, accommodations. In the room was one small bar of soap and towels. Bring your shampoo if you need it. As they are dog friendly, they tend to be my first choice most places I go. This is not a five star hotel, I give it five stars because it suits my needs and at the lowest price for those needs.

Staff was extremely friendly.
Room was too hot! When I called the front desk I was informed it's an old unit and only heats. The only way to cool the room was to turn off the unit and open a window. Mildly annoying because with the window open you get a lot of noise from traffic and people walking by.
Bathtub dripped and it was obvious at least housekeeping knew about it as they had put the plug in the tub so it didn't drain.

The room was neat, so were the sheets, towels and the bathroom. There were no toiletries, just the soap but its manageable since we often carry travel configured toiletries ourselves. The floor didn't have a carpet, so one has to walk barefooted. It's not a problem but the floor could use more cleaning to make the barefoot walking comfortable.
But these were the things one can ignore. For me, the deal breaker was the AC/heating system. It says that its AC but believe me, it wasn't. The moment I got into the room, it was hot like July in Kansas. I lowered down the desired temperature on the thermostat but it just kept giving hot air. Had to keep the window open the whole night to make the room livable. Couldn't sleep properly because of the noise of the traffic and people.. if the AC was okay, it would have been a better experience.

I've stayed at Motel 6's all over the country. I'm a senior woman. I travel alone now and I alway feel safe at Motel 6. I choose Mammoth Lakes for my annual Ladies Ski Week every year in March. I've never been disappointed with this property. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the price is always right.

It was quiet, clean and I was able to take my dog with no extra charge. This was probably the least expensive motel in Mammoth Lakes, CA. Very basic but all I needed. Friendly staff, people who stayed there were also nice, I felt very safe.

They have remodeled so it looks better, but the room comes with almost nothing but soap and towels. No shampoo /conditioner or coffee maker like before, some rooms do come with a small fridge. The GM is very nice however I can't say the same about the rest of the staff. My husband was literally told to shut up by the manager after we had called ahead to make reservations, paid ahead and told them we would be checking in late, on the phone they had no problem with that but said they would have to charge the card which wasn't a problem. When we arrived around 1:30am the manager gave my husband such a hard time, yelling at him, then decided to call his wife or some friend and have a 30 min conversation while pretending to check us in and proceeded to be rude even giving my husband the finger at one point. Yes, we have all of this recorded on video. The only person I thought was professional and kind was the GM, I forgot his name.

Check in was great as usual and I was in my room in short order. I stay here quite a bit but this time my room had a couple things wrong with it that left a little more to be desired. First, the light fixture in the ceiling had only one working bulb and no cover so it was a bit of an eyesore and a also quite brighter than it needed to be. Second, the flusher on the toilet was finicky and it took two, three and sometimes more tires to get it to flush. I believe I stayed in room 269. Not huge problems but things that could be easily fixed.

Your service provides precisely what is expected of an inexpensive motel: clean but so-so quality appointments such as bedding, towels and furniture. Motel 6 does this for a reasonable fee with politeness and good customer service. This is a value to clients and preserves the viability of your business. Keep up the good work, but please, please oh please don't use so darn much air-freshener!

I have no real complaints about our stay- the room was exactly as promised, clean upon entry and well suited for our trip. The heater worked excellently and the room could go from ice cold to toasty within about 10 minutes, so it was perfect for the cold weather at Mammoth when we visited!

The one and only critique I can make (and this is me splitting hairs hear) - Motel 6 only provides two bars of soap for a 2 day stay, one for the sink and one for the bathroom. If you could make it 2 bars of soap for the shower (one for each person in the room) and maybe include one of those little motel shampoo bottles, that would be the icing on the cake!

Thanks so much for having us for the weekend, it was an excellent time and the motel is very conveniently located. The bus stops are close, food and coffee shops are in walking distance, and the parking was quite good even considering the snow!

We enjoyed our stay at this location. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean, however, without shoes, you can feel the floor needed some sweeping. Also, the fan in the bathroom was very loud. We appreciated that we could walk to restaurants and stores. There is a ski shuttle stop in front of the motel. We will definitely stay there again!

I unfortunately had to cancel my trip at the last minute but, within the cancellation window. I was charged for a no show on my reservation and when I called to dispute it, the person I talked to was delightful and willing to work with me on this issue.

I will definitely stay here the next time I can make it out to Mammoth Lakes and I will definitely recommend this location to others.

Thank you.

I had a very good experience. The room was clean and I liked the modernized look of the rooms. A very minor issue: the heater was on full blast when I arrived. We had to open the door to cool the room off.

Basic and clean accommodations. Climate control definitely needs improvement. The thermostat didn’t have a temperature gauge so we just had to switch it on and off. Wish there was a blow dryer and/or shampoo/conditioner available. Our neighbors were smoking weed in next room all night long, but that is not the fault necessarily of management. We appreciate the fast check in and check out. And we do plan to visit again because of the ease of booking.

The motel 6 at Mammoth was one of the more affordable lodging options in the area. The price and the proximity of the motel 6 to the slopes was unbeatable. The room was a bit smaller than I pictured, but I can't really complain. Overall, my experience was pleasant.

I like staying at motel 6.
I wish that all the rooms had a microwave and a fridge. The one I stayed in did not have any of those. I stayed for one week. The staff said they didn't have available rooms with those items. They told me I should have requested those while registering online, but honestly I didn't see such a option. If I would have seen it I would have put in for it. But over all it was a good stay

For the price I paid, this place is way over my expectations. The place smells nice and is pretty clean (although with a few hairs on the bed and towels). It's also located right behind a free resort shuttle stop and only a few minutes walk to John's Pizza Works (they have amazing margherita pizza!). Highly recommend for anyone visiting Mammoth for skiing.

I haven't stayed in a Motel 6 in a while so had a few surprises, like no shampoo in the bathrooms. However the room was warm which was perfect for the cold weather. If you're not a budget or don't need fancy extras, this is a good place.

I have stayed here many times before. Claudia helps run the front desk (at this point, she should be manager). She is knowledgeable, personable, sharp, friendly, and very professional. I could say the same about Savannah. What a gem she is! And, she remembers people's names. There's a new maintenance/does everything guy. His name is something like Alvaro. He's great too and really know how to fix things! Good job, Motel 6, for hiring such a great staff. Even the sweet women that clean the rooms are so nice and friendly. Only thing that has happened the last few times is that the Internet Connection is sketchy. The staff always apologizes. It is not their fault. That should be fixed.

It was great. The on line reservation was really efficient and helped me with my online reservation mistakes. I ended up going there a night ahead from what I expected. from the free way I was able to make another reservation for Sunday night.
The gentleman I meet was very polite, the room was warm clean and conformable. the bathroom was clean and the hot water was great.
The parking close to the room works very well. Monday I took the bus to go snowboarding leaving my car safe a the the hotel. my first option whenever I go, i check first motel 6.

As a frequent visitor, I was quite happy with my stay. The clerk was swift in my check in, very informative of the accommodations around the area, and they allowed my 2 well behaved Golden Retrievers to stay with me. Although I would say that this is my fault but I booked a room that was a bit too small for my dogs and me. Luckily, the clerk in the front desk moved me to a bigger room at no additional charge. The rooms were also clean and neat but because I'm still old school, I still prefer carpeted floors (at least updated carpeted flooring). Overall, it was a great stay.

Overall my stay was great, and thank you for being so dog friendly. The one issue I had was that the lighting in the room was very poor. The only light that was good for reading under was over the bathroom sink. All the other lights were way too dim.

I always enjoy my stay because your office personnel and I try to make the best of my experience there. However, I encountered a few obstacles this past trip. Upon checking in, I found my room door was not completely closed. I just had to push it open to get in. Then, my pillow had a funky fish odor so I just tossed it aside and waited until the next day to request a fresh one. The next day I had to ask the office for help because neither of my room keys would work. But despite it all, I had a good stay.

The male in the front office was friendly as far as giving us advice regarding Yosemite. The gals, however, we're just all right and not very friendly. Location is good but the room itself was a bare bones room... typical of a Motel 6. $150 per night seems outrageous for the quality of the room, but everything was booked and everything else was substantially more money. That being said, we did sleep well.

The remodeled rooms are much nicer than the old M6.
Wood floors feel much cleaner than the carpet.
The complete tub shower including ceiling are very clean.
Good water pressure inthe shower.
M6 is dog friendly which is a bonus for me.
Air conditioning did not work well in my room.
Glad it was only 75* high. 45* at night so opened the window.
Hotel was quiet at night and it was full
Would recommend to a friend

Staff were wonderful. Friendly and helpful. The room was adequate. To small for two beds. Floors could have been cleaner, but I do like that motel 6 has gotten rid of carpet. There were no cups in the room and seems like something else typically found in room was missing, but I can't recall at this time. I was surprised to find that the wifi was not free. Overall it served its purpose.

I needed a room to spend the night prior to a backpacking trip the next day - my needs were simple and met. What did strike me was the fact that while the entire motel was booked solid with a bunch of young yahoo's with doors open and partying going on....once in the room it was quite quiet somehow. Now issues at all. Better than the Motel 6 of old - by far

You get what you get at Motel 6. It's basic and that's about it. I was going to give this review an AVERAGE rating, but decided on VERY GOOD for one reason - they allow dogs to stay for FREE! I saw about 10 other dogs there but I never heard any of them. And dog owners are good to pick up after their dogs. There's a large parking lot with lots of room around the perimeter for your dog to sniff and do their business. The motel is really conveniently located too.
The only complaint I have is that the laminate floor was dirty. I don't think they had mopped it for a while. It was swept clean, but when if you step on it with wet, bare feet, you could see it was not super clean. We just wore slippers or flip flops. It was worth the payoff for us having our dog.

Ended up staying in Room 206. Right next to the generator/power plant/buzzing on and off machine that powers the hotel day and night? Word to the wise, DO NOT stay near the office or anywhere near the front section of the building near the office! Very busy! Very noisy! Otherwise room and bed were clean and comfortable. Maybe, back off on the super strong smelling/scented cleaning products. Also, could barely see the TV picture. Extremely dim!

I did not expect much given the price but I feel they could do better. Firstly, on their sign in large letters, it states "Wireless". The internet connection was totally useless. The staff admitted it was bad and affirmed that the management had no intent to improve it. I had intended to get some business done in the evenings but had to resort to 3G which was night-and-day faster. The lighting in the rooms is poor and fluorescent giving an aura of a prison cell. they have no 24 your security and a call to the desk regarding a noisy adjacent room was not handled. Never the less, the rooms were clean, staff cheerful and the price acceptable. Next time, I'll pay $20/night more somewhere else.

I have stayed at this location many times over the years. Don't take this personally but mounting the television speakers on the wall was thoughtless and stupid. The wall transmits the television sound to the adjacent room. The slick linoleum floors may not be the best idea. There is magma, a fine grit, in the LONG VALLEY * it tracks in on shoes to the floor.

rooms were spotless clean, nice to see laminate floor ,shower/bath very modern water pressure excellent staff friendly. what no shampoo !! for $150.00 I expected at least a small tube. If you're looking for a place to sleep and shower this is the perfect place! Staff was friendly and check in was easy and I was able to choose if I wanted a room up or down stairs. My only complaint was that bathroom door inside and out and wall next to the sink had some kind of stains that I actually wiped off so it was an easy clean up. Other than that my experience was great because it was pet friendly and also was quiet.

Modernized a few years ago, but still a basic motel and good enough for a bed and shower if you're not picky. Some rooms have a mini fridge; there is only a microwave in the lobby. Bedding is okay, pillows are stiff, and towels are pretty small and rough. Shower, cable TV, room AC and heating are good. Despite all that, I still stay here frequently for the cheaper rooms compared to the rest of Mammoth. However, Motel 6's prices have been going up the past few years, even in the summer off season, so I typically look harder for deals elsewhere before finally booking.

Motel 6 is a little run down (lot's of rust) on the outside but acceptable on the inside. A little small but sufficient. I wish they put the toilet seat back. Come on guys the women need the seat for shaving their legs etc.... I know it's tradition but some Motel 6's do have seats. Make it standard or revert to 50 cents for black and white TV viewing. The Manager Bill was wonderful and told us what to see etc... good man!

A clean, neat, quiet room with a comfortable bed just what I wanted before a day of June skiing, and the price was right.
A comment on a couple things: The overhead light needs to be fixed or replaced, much too dim for use. And, the sink basin, which was OK for me, should be plunged before it stops completely.

I will be back to Motel Six on my next trip, thanks for a good place to stay.

The room was clean and open. I laughed because the handouts for a green environment are all around the room. Yet when I left my towel hung to use again it was replaced. I'm not mad , just laughed. I had no hot water at the sink. And the weekend crowds are a little loud, But otherwise a nice stay.

Water from faucet (shower & sink) never got hot (or even warm).
Room was much too hot. Temperature regulator on thermostat did not function (or I could not figure out how to adjust it),
Exterior light did not work. We returned after dark and had difficulty finding the room key slot.
Fan in bathroom is MUCH too loud. You need to install a separate switch for the light and the fan.
Light inside room is not bright enough to read. You need to install a bright light in the center of the room amovee the table.

I liked the location and people working at the motel. The room was sufficiently large for one person, but might have been tight for two depending on their relationship. I had a ski buddy staying in an adjacent room and we were both happy to have our own rooms. He said his shower was weak (#163); mine was fabulous (#161). The bathroom vent was very noisy and annoying. I used it only when I showered. The rest of the time I used the light over the sink. I noticed when I got in the shower my feet left dirty foot prints in the tub. I had been barefoot in my room! Makes me think the hardwood floors aren't very clean. They need to be wet-mopped. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, but the cooling system didn't work. I woke up about 2 am and opened the door for fresh air, but it was smoky air from fireplaces, so I closed it. At noon on May 4th, it was quite hot and stuffy in the room when I returned from skiing. It was also hot outside, so it didn't do any good to open the door or window. The coffee was surprisingly good. I drank it black because it tasted good and fresh with no bitterness. Finally, the walls and ceiling are so thin I could hear my neighbors TV; and footsteps above and whenever they used the bathroom it sounded like a horse urinating. Some of these issues depend on who is staying at the motel. The first night was bad due to the tenants. The second night was much better in terms of noise.

The room was very well set up, clean and attractive. Bathroom was also quite clean and above expected standards for a "cheap" motel. Front desk service extremely friendly. Close to bus stops for the free town shuttle and resort access.

Downside was that there was no control on the heating, the room was so hot that it was hard to sleep, took hours with the windows open, in late winter, to cool down to a temp that was comfortable. Even if you turned thermostat off, and only ran the fan, the heat still pumped in.

Other problem is the wifi, pretty bad. Had to leave the motel to go to a coffee shop to do any work on the computer, even emails were tough.

But all in all a good experience.

The hotel check in was a bit of a headache. The hotel seemed to not be prepared for a busy weekend before Easter and was overbooked. Many customers in line were told they could not get their room keys until later, even though it was after 5pm. The cashier did try to be accommodating though, told me that my room might not be cleaned right away, but if not cleaned within an hour, he would clean it himself. He tried to do his best with a chaotic situation. The room was clean and fairly quiet. Nothing except soap, so don't expect thrills. It's Motel 6, after all.

This Motel 6 was quite modern and stylish compared to other Motel 6s I've been at. The beds were comfortable, the appliances seemed new and everything was very clean. The front desk was friendly and efficient. The only "complaint" I had was the price ($100/night), but considering it's in a snow resort (Mammoth Mountain), I guess the prices should be somewhat high.

Just what we expected for the price. Our room was small but clean and comfortable. Staff at check-in was helpful and pleasant even though we were checking in very late. Check-out was easy -- just leave by noon. We didn't want to spend a fortune and we were very pleased with our room.

The rooms are small but they are clean and very efficient! I love the remodels, very Ikea-like. Nice laminate flooring, pedestal beds, modern bathrooms. I recommend bringing your own towels if possible as theirs are small and a bit rough. The beds are very, very comfortable but could use one more blanket. Can't beat the price and the staff was awesome!

Been staying @ Motel 6 for years. Always a good value. Motel 6 Mammoth Lakes is by far the best. Bruce the overnight guy is an amazing guy. Always helpful and friendly. Goes way above and beyond to ensure a good experience. Will be moving out of state soon and will miss staying here but have nothing but great memories and have had nothing but great experiences.

The room and motel location was perfect. The staff and their service were outstanding. I was amazed at the monumental work they had to do in clearing mountains of snow, but the staff seemed to take that in stride.

The room was always warm and comfortable. The only complaint is there wasn't an adjustment for the temperature, but it wasn't really needed.

Just wanted to complement your staff during my stay @ Mammoth on Sunday night 02/12. Shower worked awesome after a great day on the slopes and wanted to complement your staff in their fast check-in at around 4:30pm that day. Microwave worked for our brought-in food and more importantly, the facility was clean and no snow issues whatsoever around the parking lot. Thank you and keep up the great work!

Room was good (except smell of weed in the restroom) and the service is friendly. Stuff take care of snow shoveling around the building, You can borrow a shovel to dig out you car as well. Nice location.

Stayed for 2 days and had to cancel 3rd day due to a snow storm (got a full refund, which is nice).

Overall, satisfied and will come back again mainly due to a friendly cancellation policy.

The staff were very helpful, but the heating/cooling conditions were terrible. Only 2 choices: too hot or too cold. I wrote to them in detail about that. I wanted an inexpensive room for one, but had to pay for a large room, 2 double beds. Location great; Near the slopes. Office folks did their best. Heavy snows made their job difficult but they did well. Just install some kind of workable thermostat system.

I made a last minute run to Mammoth with the latest pow day. The Motel 6 was clean, warm and located within walking distance to some simple restaurants. This was important because of the massive snowstorm and my desire to maintain my parking space which was close to my room. Worked out well. Price was high however as my daughter correctly pointed out the "supply and demand".

The staff was helpful and knowledgeable, letting me know where to catch the shuttle and where to get a cup of coffee. They even let me leave all my luggage in a locked room after I checked out, but before I could meet friends at our condo. Rooms are functional rather than inviting, but I appreciated the service.

The hotel room was nice an toasty when we arrived. Internet was slow.
Room was clean. Bathroom amenities were decent. Only towels, soap, TP and cups are provided so bring everything else that would normally be provided in a hotel. Hair dryer, Iron, Ice... ETC.

Most of the staff was super friendly, room was clean and the facilities were good. There was no hot water coming out of the bathroom sink, but the shower worked fine so it was OK. This location doesn't have a hot tub so that's a bummer. There is zero flexibility on a late checkout though I wasn't told that until the following morning. This was a big deal and huge disappointment given I'd spoken with someone about my request the night before I was set to leave.

We have always stayed here because it was the cheapest place in town but knew coming here the accommodations would be minimum. The new remodel is great the price is still the same and the staff was friendly. My Husband was reluctant to stay here, but know is convinced that Motel 6 has changed for the better. The fact pets are allowed is an added bonus too! Thanks.

What one expects from a Motel 6 (basic, clean accommodations for a good price) is generally delivered. However at the Mammoth Lakes Motel 6 I've recently experienced housekeeping service that is late in the afternoon after I've returned to the room from a day of skiing. During my most recent stay, housekeeping did not show up until after 5 pm on one day. This is most inconvenient since after skiing I'd like to take a shower and then relax for a bit in a clean, made up room (watching TV, reading, etc.) and not be interrupted by housekeeping.

Everything worked out just as I had hoped , the cleanliness and comfort of the room and the great service at the front desk. The area was also very quiet with no outside noise.
I would highly recommend this location to anyone .

I stayed at this motel for my first time on 11/19 and had a great stay. The reception area is open late, so I was able to check-in quickly after the long drive up from San Diego. The rooms are pretty basic, but it was clean, had a nice bed, and had enough room to store my gear. All and all, a great stay for a modest price and very close to the mountain.

The refurbished rooms are nice, but creaky floors above and thin walls that could use better insulation remain a minor problem. In the trivial dept. the hot and cold water feeds at the sink are backwards from what I am used to. (I ran gallons of cold water before realizing that the water was never going to get with the handle pointed left towards traditional Hot) Also, I would really like a tissue dispenser at the sink.Otherwise, no complaints. Good room cleanup service.

Motel 6 in Mammoth is a great place to stay at if you like to travel with your dogs. The room was clean and comfortable. The service at the front desk was extremely polite and friendly.

The one major complaint that resulted in a deduction of two stars was the bathroom. Whomever cleaned the bathtub did not do a good job. There were two strands of hair in the bathtub. Overall, the rest of the bathroom and room were clean.

Overall, we had a great time in Mammoth and the pups enjoyed there stay and slept soundly.

I always stay at Motel 6 regardless location bcuz of my dogs. This is by far the best Motel 6 I've ever stayed.

The front desk stuff Nicole and Emily is super friendly and helpful. The website somewhat messed up my reservation and double charged me. They take care of the issue and do their best to accommodate guest.

The room is clean and comfortable. The best thing about the room is the shower. It's the most powerful shower head over ever used in any Motel 6.

If I go to Yosemite area again, I'll definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for one night. They tried to charge me more than my original booking price, to start. You have to pay for wifi, and it's one device only even when you do. The first room they gave us was obviously still occupied and they were only mildly apologetic about it. Several of the towels and washcloths in the room had hair in them and/or were stained. The top bedsheets had stains and gravel on them and had obviously not been laundered recently. There was a dead bug on the floor. The toilet flushed oddly and sprayed water up, and the sink sprayed water everywhere except at the lowest flow. Overall a very poor experience. For $50 we would not complain, but this is Mammoth Lakes and we paid over $100 with tax. Also, when I called to make a reservation the national line told me there were no rooms left even though there were many, and she didn't seem to care at all when I protested that I was sure there were still rooms.

Motel 6 provides clean, comfortable, very basic lodging. It's conveniently located to a bus stop heading to the slopes. Note that the WiFi is not free.

You really cant beat the price for the location. The room looked recently updated (modern) and was very comfortable after a long day of skiing. We had a flatscreen TV and a breakfast nook. The heating/cooling is done with a central unit, not a window unit. We were able to park right outside our room, so it was easy to load/unload our ski equipment. Overall, it was a great place to spend the night if you're looking for an inexpensive room that is still comfortable and clean. We did not need wifi, but if you do it comes at an additional cost.

Great location to visit Mammoth Lakes, June Lake, Death Valley, Mono Lake, Bodie, Yosemite, other nice places in Eastern Sierra. The town is quite large with lots of restaurants and shops besides snow mountains and sandy desert. This particular motel seems like a bit too expensive, but it is probably okay, considering that it is still one of inexpensive motels in the area and also the fact that it is after renovation (!). Clear fresh mountain air, beautiful pines around, lots of walking paths, love this place.
