Stayed here both times I had a run from So Cal to Idaho.
Nothing fancy but staff was great, rooms were comfortable and clean. Even tho there is a casino it was pretty quiet.
Restaurant was good food was good service friendly.
Good place to stay at the end of along day.
Town of Ely has supplies if you need to stock up.
I will be staying there each time I pass thru

Great hotel and great staff. I stay here every time I’m in Ely and have never been disappointed. I have heard something about a Holiday Inn. Are they building one next door or converting? I sure hope the Prospector doesn’t change. Best place to stay in Ely!!

Service was great. Friendly desk and check in. We ate in the restaurant, the food was good. We had fijatas, 2 orders, for 4 people and there were leftovers. Hit sauce was good, but pretty tame. Churos were spot on. The room was pretty fantastic, very modern and clean. Our fridge didn't work, and we didn't realize until the morning so those leftovers went to waste. We really liked this spot and we'll certainly be back the next time we're traveling through Ely.

I have stayed there in Ely, Nevada two times in the past year and have been pleased. Room rates were reasonable, clean, comfy beds, nice restaurant, 24 hour slots, very friendly staff, indoor pool and jacuzzi. Sadly, I did not confirm this however was told the Prospector has been purchased by Holiday Inn if I remember correctly. I hate to see this nice place be bought out by big guys and lose that friendly small town feel. Perhaps it will not.

What a gem. Very clean, spacious, quiet rooms with comfortable beds. We were travelling through stayed for one night and could not have been more pleased. Staff were very kind and accomadating. The art on the walls made for a very nice stroll through all the halls. Highly recommend this place.

I stayed overnight at this hotel while on my way to Great Basin National Park. Overall, I was impressed. The staff member at the check-in desk was extremely polite, helpful, and efficient. The room was much nicer than many of the other budget-friendly hotels I've been in. Several room amenities were included that seem to have gone by the wayside including a fridge and microwave. There is a Mexican restaurant on site that has good food at a decent price. It's important to know that smoking is permitted in the casino, which was a drawback for me. That being said, the rooms were odorfree. I would likely recommend this hotel to friends and family if they were traveling through this part of Nevada.

I love this hotel!! The rooms are beautiful, the restaurant is delicious, and the ladies at the front desk were super nice!! They definitely care about keeping the guest happy and it shows! After my experience with La Quinta in ely I will definitely stay here at the prospector every time!

The people next to my room ruined my stay... the walls are thin and you can hear everything from your neighbors room. I had to listen for 2 hours of a kid screaming and crying.... Also the gym had the A/C broken so it was really uncomfortable working out. Other then that the place is beautiful, friendly staff, and amazing vintage decorations. It would be awesome to have a little gated area for the dogs. 👍🏼

This was such a wonderful place to stay💕. My dog felt so special getting to the room with the milkbones, and bed. He doesn't even sleep on a dog bed or eat bones, but he did, and he was so happy! You guys are wonderful! I will share!💕💕💕

Decent place. Only 4 star due to no elevator and the fact they charge your credit card up front. As a disabled veteran. No elevator is a killer. Please. We like your hotel. Install an elevator. We saw several guests having issues like us.

If you find yourself in Ely, skip the chain hotels and head straight for the Prospector. The staff was incredibly friendly and the place is extremely pet-friendly. Very clean and modern rooms with super nice pool and spa area.

The rooms in this small rural Nevada town was a pleasant surprise! Very clean, extra amenities, a few free bar drink tokens. The parking lots are secure with 24 hour monitoring. I believe this is the best choice in town!

love this hotel, very unique. didn't expect much but it has been updated, rooms are pure luxury. We had been driving all day, arrived hungry and tired. Restaurant is small but food was excellent. Small RV park, first come first serve.
However, this is a gem hidden in Ely Nevada
The hotel caters to pet owners in the most amazing way I have seen. The restaurant is incredible for breakfast to dinner...
And the slots do pay.
This is a must stay

Very friendly front desk staff member (Maria?)! I was surprised how beautiful and clean the hotel is. I thought maybe because it was a pet friendly hotel it may "look and smell" pet friendly. Room with
Flatscreen tv, microwave, safe, room service. If I'm ever in the area again I will stay again!

We spent one night here on our way to Arizona. Nice neat and clean room. Ate at the restaurant, good portions, decent food. Staff are friendly. Just an all around pleasant stay. We will stay here again should we come this direction.

Awesome place. The room was large and had a lot of amenties that most hotels I've stayed at lack (Large TV, fridge, safe, microwave, reading lights on the bed, outlets built into the lamps, a sitting area to work). The folks working there were very friendly. Pets are welcome which is a bonus (saw a lot of dogs).

The downstairs has some slot machines, a bar, and a Mexican restaurant (which was really good and affordable). The pool looked cool but I didn't see anybody use it.

I plan on visiting Great Basin NP in the near future and when I do, I will stay here again for sure

Loved this very nice hotel and well kept, clean casino. We stayed in the pet wing and wow! Clean and neat with special pet accommodations including a rubber ducky on the tub. Geared toward dogs but cat liked it just fine. Food at restaurant was good. I would stay again

Ok, here’s the deal. For Ely, this place gets 4 stars. I haven’t found a better place to stay here. But it misses the 5 starts because even though it’s rooms are newly renovated, it still has an older motel feel. Friendly staff though, clean sheets, and new furniture go a long way in this drive by town.

Very simple gravel rv patch outside the little casino with a Mexican restaurant. But great price at $22 a night to park your RV! Restaurant was decently priced and pretty good too! We peered in the hotel rooms on the way to dinner and they looked huge. Quaint!

Prospector is the only place I've stayed at in Ely, but I can't imagine there is anywhere nicer. Rooms are updated and clean. The pool area looks nice, but I haven't been in. The restaurant was pretty good to. If you're there for the gambling, I would think you might be unhappy due to the limited selection of games, and those only being slots. We were happy though.

We stopped on our way to lake havasu. Traveling with dogs we always expect to stay in the worse hotels. Not true with this property! Extremely pet friendly. They have a whole pet wing the hallway and rooms all decorated with dog stuff. They provide a very nice dog bed, dog cookies and poop bags. The rooms are very nice clean with small fridge microwave. We will stay here again.

Definitely not a 5 star 3 star hotel. Definitely an old building. Shower was super old...made horrible noises when turned on. Did not drain. No elevator...only 2 stories but a pain when you have a lot of stuff. Housekeeping leave early afternoon so if you need anything..sorry. Restaurant was good for Ely standards. But don't come in a hurry. Staff was friendly enough.

We stayed at the RV site next to the hotel. A small RV site with dirt roads and some trees. After you pick your site you register at the hotel. The hotel staff was friendly and had all kinds of perks for rvers. We were given hotel access card to use laundry, pool, and exercise room. We were able to get ice for our RV. They also give you two complimentary margaritas. Great overnight spot. We will stay here again.

Love this hotel!! This is a 5 star 3 star hotel!! It's clean and comfortable and decorated in fun western themes. What makes it even more special is the staff. From the front desk to the restaurant everyone is very friendly and helpful and they sincerely want you to be comfortable and happy. I highly recommend it!

A pleasant surprise! For not being a chain hotel, this place was great. Clean, well taken care of and reasonable price. $100.00. We stayed in the dog area without a dog and could not tell if any dogs have ever been there. The decor and nice treats tell you that your in the dog house. 😉 Very nice.

Second time staying here, last time was in the hotel, this time was the RV park. Service has always been good. Pricing can't be beat, $112 for the hotel, $22 for the RV with hookups. Food at the restaurant is really good too. Will always stay here when passing through.

This place was awesome. In the middle of nowhere, but the inside of the hotel was decorated very interestingly, the rooms where not only very clean, but well furnished and they offered a decent amount of amenities. The downstairs lobby was also decorated very well, and the in-house restaurant was reasonably good, or very good considering the price. If you are passing through Ely, you have to stay here.

If you are going through Ely, NV you should stay here. The staff was so over the top helpful. We showed up with reservations that didn't quite match our needs. Instead of getting bent out of shape they quickly reviewed what guests had and hadn't checked in and accommodated us as best as possible.

Very clean hotel. Rooms were spectacular! The bathroom was small, but it was sufficient for getting showered and on your way. Pet friendly rooms are great, and come with pet bed, and treat for your pet.

Casino was clean, however, it does allow smoking. Even still the air wasn't terrible.

RV Park was full every night we were there. Pool was empty most of the time.

The only complaint I have is the Room Service took over 20 minutes to figure out how to take my order. Besides that this was a great hotel to stay at.

I hardly know where to start. The staff who checked us in were remarkably cheerful -- how do they manage to keep their perky attitudes day after day after day? The decor of the lobby is very kitschy, Americana-ish, with something covering every wall, every inch of floor. Not my taste but I don't have to live there. The smoke fills the casino but it's not huge so I could hold my breath between the entry to the casino and the stairwell to go upstairs to my room. (No elevator.) But I must say the room itself was very nice indeed. No smoke smell, what I would deem to be an expensive mattress on the king-sized bed, huge television, plenty of counter space, a sink/dressing area separate from the toilet/shower room. There was a coffee maker, hair dryer, sufficient number of hangers and towels. I do wish hotels would trend toward furnishing large bottles, non-removable, of shampoo, body wash and lotion to obviate the need for small bottles of these toiletries. Furnishing them is a wasteful practice in this "green" age. All in all, it was worth our $122

Rooms were wonderful and very pet friendly! Lots of nice touches like remodeled rooms, provided dog beds, and complementary water. Casino is the perfect amount of cheesy decorations to make it fun. Everyone was very nice and helpful!

When we came for check-in, they didn't have any reservation information for us (we booked through booking), but lucky that was resolved and they have available room. Also they're giving complimentary margarita at the check-in! I thought that it's really cool until i tried the actual margarita (worst margarita that i ever tried). Also was waiting for a bartender about 15 minutes. But room and room service was good! Room itself was clean and beds are comfortable. Only one bad thing, that i remember, hotel staff it's too loud in the morning. I woke up just because of that, not because of my alarm. But, probably, in such small city it's the best option.

All the staff here was super nice , the hotel had a very homey vibe to it ! The indoor pool and hot tub were both very clean. The casino was abit small but that wasn't much of a concern to me, the rooms are exactly what they show, they're beautiful and very clean! This hotel is literally an oasis in the desert. The rooms are large and clean with fun decor. The bed was very comfortable. And, the facility is definitely pet friendly (although there was no pet odor in the room). The public areas are decorated with interesting artifacts that the owners have collected in their travels. The onsite restaurant is pretty good too.

Easily the nicest Hotel in Ely and surprisingly kid friendly. Rooms and clean, quiet, and up to date. The fridge has a freezer space and lots of shelves. Room service is available from the on site restaurant. If they know you're bringing kids, the put a rubber ducky in the tub for them and toss in lollipops and ear plugs.

Very nice clean and very comfortable. New rooms and bathroom very nice, much nicer than I expected. Reasonably priced. We had a pet room and it was really clean I couldn't tell that any animal had been in the room. We ate at the restaurant, alot of food and reasonably priced. It was very busy but servers were prompt and food came out faster than I expected since almost every table was seated. I would stay again even though I stayed at the Laquinta on Thursday.

Clean restrooms!! We stopped in at Margaritas for dinner. Amazing hot salsa--they should sell it by the jar. The rest of the meal (chicken mole for me, beef enchilada and chimichunga for my husband) were boring, but not bad. The albondigas was better. Hey, pretty good for Ely, but nothing to crow about.

We had an exceptional experience at the hotel and at the restaurant, Margarita's, in the hotel. Clean room, comfortable bed, newly decorated with large screen TV, excellent service, terrific dinner and breakfast at Margarita's. We are returning on our trip back home and we recommend this place to anyone traveling through Ely.
