Nice interior. Rooms could be bigger. Pool is a decent size with good beach access. Hotel looks a little dated outside. The A/C unit was on auto but seemed to shut off when at 73 degrees or higher, and constantly on when in 72 or lower. Location wise, it's in a good area. Not far from clubs, restaurants, and main south beach strip. Very good for the price point

I've been trying to contact the hotel but can't get an answer. They charged me more than what the receipt stated. Our room didn't have a remote so we called the front desk who said they would bring one. No one came. I didn't like that you have to pay additional for parking. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay. The resort fee includes bikes. The bed was soft and the room was super clean.

Stayed in the deluxe king oceanfront room and was not at all disappointed. The view was amazing. The room was clean and up to date. I would give a 5 star but they did have some rooms on another part of the hotel that definitely needs upgrading.

I’ve stayed there a few times each year for the past 5 years so I feel pretty qualified to write this review. The place has a tough reputation because it used to have a lot of issues. They are very conscious about it and really want to make sure you have a nice stay. Staff is helpful, attentive and caring. The rooms are pretty nice for what you are paying to be on the beach.

A lot of families and foreign people stay there but it is still pretty good for younger people too. They’ve come a long way over the past few years and I’d definitely recommend staying there while the prices are still very competitive in the area.

The rooms here are incredibly bare for what they charge.

There were no seat cushions on our booth which made it impossible for 2 people to sit at the table. I complained to the front desk and they were incredulous and never resolved the issue.

The fridge takes up a ton of space and is equipped with sensors so that if you move anything in or around it you get charged absurd amounts.

The outdoor areas of the hotel redeem it somewhat. There are plenty of places to sit day and night, the pool is nice, and there's easy access to the beach.

Great Hotel. If youre looking for a hotel with beach access and great pool setting, this hotel is a decent choice. It may not be the most updated hotel but its functional. Found a great deal and this is why we booked it. Location was great. TIP - Just a heads up they do add 18% Gratuity to your bar/food service regardless of party size.

The Royal Palm is a beautiful hotel, the staff is friendly and courteous, and the rooms are beautiful. We stayed for 6 nights and were treated well each night.

The room we had gave us a nice view of the ocean and we could see down Collins Avenue and towards Biscayne Bay as well. Our room was nicely decorated and very clean, the cleaning staff was excellent and took care of us each day. Our room could have used an extra hook or two in the bathroom to hang wet bathing suits/towels. We liked the blend of modern and art deco influence in the decor.

We used the valet for our car and it was ready a few minutes after we scanned our claim check, the valet were friendly and courteous.

The pool was beautiful and the bar staff was friendly. There were usually plenty of towels available at both the pool and the beach. We rented chairs and umbrellas at the beach and it was the best decision that we made. The resort fee includes the chairs but the umbrellas are extra; but worth it in the Miami sun! The beach staff is friendly.

We did not eat at the hotel, we made other plans but it looked good.

Very clean. Professional services including bartenders, waitress at breakfast, and parking attendants. Holds the door open for you when entering inside hotel from pool area. Awesome access to the beach. Nice poolside bar. Great outdoor atmosphere!

Had a cozy and pleasant stay here. We upgraded to a room with an ocean view and it was well worth the money. Front desk/concierge could use some work with informing guests on the TRUE cost of their stay at the INITIAL point of sale, this way the perception of the hotel is completely transparent. All in all though, great location, great views👀🌴it'll be worth it!

We stayed here for a staycation in South Beach. The building from the outside was pretty nice but definitely seemed like it needs some more maintenance upkeep. The customer service was pretty good. They had some activities at the pool that we enjoyed. It has pretty quick beach access but we had a problem with the gate not working properly so a lot of the guests could go out to the beach but couldn't get back in. There are few really good staff members but there were a lot of poor staff members that just didn't seem like they care too much. But that is the general theme in South Beach customer service is lacking in a major way down here. At least from my experience. Though it was nice to be able to watch the Fourth of July fireworks right from the balcony. But they charge for every little thing even $9 to order room service which I thought was odd. I probably would not stay here again.

Customer service was not the best my first night and morning there. As an spg member I was treated like someone that had just come off the street. Room was in front of the elevator and smelled like cigarette smoke. Then was lied to that they were full and did not have any other rooms. Next day the management did upgrade my room to a studio suite and that was nice. But then had another issue with being charged extra on my bill. It took 3 attempts before management got my bill right. My last issue they gave me points I may never use and I felt with all my issues I should had received a refund for at least my resort fees. My stay was not great and I would not stay there again until they get better customer service and renovate all their rooms. It was to many people complaining about room or charges each day I was at the front desk. I hope they get this together because it is a nice hotel and does have potential.

A nice place to stay with friendly staff. They need to manage the pool towel supply better. At about 4:30p there were no more towels to be had, so make sure you keep what you have after 3p.
Our room 1608 was nice, the shower was huge. Would love to stay in 1609 next time (note to self).

Stayed for one night. The location is right in the middle of everything! The room was super spacious and clean! I was very disappointed in the room service. They were out of almost everything and the one thing they did have ( mozzarella tomato Panini ) it was completely cold! Plus the delivery fee was insane! Also we were sitting by the pool at 12:30 am and got kicked out by a security guard that shined his flash light and told us we couldn’t be there! Took away that vacation feeling! On the bright side The beach are steps away from the hotel!

What a great hotel! I love that it's not on ocean drive. But it's close enough that you can experience the crazy nightlife of Miami. The staff Is excellent. The appmophereis unique and their access to the beach is amazing. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Good location- hotel and rooms are clean. Staff is friendly.
Make sure you check the bill because they don’t always tell you when they charge things.
Had a noisy room (808), due to ice machine and electrical mechanics room next to us. They changed us to an ocean view, much better.
Swimming pool is small but we’re only interested in the beach.

This is a nice hotel that is pretty friendly. Great location with access to the beach and two swimming pools. The staff is friendly. Rooms are very spacious after spending a week in a cruise cabin. Only down side is check in seems late. We had a dog in the room next to us that seemed to bark forever.

Stayed here recently and will come back again to the Royal Palm when we visit South Beach again.

It’s not the biggest place in South Beach but it certainly has all the amenities we were looking for. We stayed for 6 nights and the rates were quite reasonable. They are located just off Ocean Drive in South Beach are on the route of the ocean walk/bike path but also a short distance from the most popular places within walking distance.

They have 3 separate Bars, a couple of restaurants & 2 pools as well as a large heated rain wall that falls into good size hot tub/pool.

The service and wait staff were very friendly. I would highly recommend staying at the Royal Palm!

So far, so awesome! Just arrived and the experience has been fantastic from the great valet service outside to the check-in and then up to the room overlooking the ocean and the sand where we are headed now! Fantastic Art Deco in the room and in the halls and in the understated but wow Lobby downstairs. Very pleased with the amenities from a safe in the closet two slippers water coffee and the offer by the check-in desk to send up a little mini fridge without our even asking because he saw that we had some beverages in our pile of luggage. Very great service so far can't wait to see what's next!

This was our fourth stay in Miami Beach, and the first at the Royal Palm. I would say this is the best hotel we have stayed in so far. It is highly likely we will book here again next year. First of all, the location is hard to beat. It's on the ocean side of Collins, one or two blocks away from Lincoln Ave. and Española Way. Only a little farther, but still at most a 5 minutes walk away, is Rosetta Bakery, which is reason enough to visit Miami Beach (look it up).

Second, the facilities and rooms are up to date. It's not extravagant luxury, but it's definitely a top-notch hotel. The pool area is convenient and up to Miami Beach standards, and the resort fee includes two chairs and towels at the beach, which is a plus.

Overall, highly recommended.

We had booked a stay here on the 1st of June in 2016 and there weren't any issues what so ever. The rooms were very clean, and the hotel itself was very inviting. Everyone had their space, and the walls weren't thin. The atmosphere was great, as well as everyone who played their role to satisfy their guests.

It's a pretty good place. Only complaint is that the shampoo and conditioner smell funky. Has access to the beach, small gym (no bench or squat rack), and near a lot of stores. You have to rent beach umbrellas for 19 a day. A lot of food choices around and some bars. Very clean. 2 pools. Hot tub. Lively place.

A beautiful Art Deco property in some of the best real estate in Miami. The lobby oozes classic design, with porthole windows, bright colors and plush chrome chairs. The pool is buzzing, but not crowded, and sipping a Miami Vice in the afternoon sun is a great way to beat the winter blues. The rooms are smaller than you’d find a newer properties, but all you’re sacrificing is a desk you wouldn’t use anyway. Very walkable to all South Beach has to offer—I’m so glad I booked this place.

I cannot begin to explain how amazing my trip to Miami was! The hotel was the nicest, cleanest, and with such exceptional customer service. Everyone was sweet. The room was great, beds were comfy, two pools although the hot tub wasn't as hot as I would have liked it. View was great. Did I mention that our backyard was the ocean? Every time I think about my stay at the hotel, I have a smile on my face. Its minutes from Ocean Dr. I would probably say it's the ideal location to stay in South Beach. Loved every second of it. Thank you Royal Palm!

This is a great Starwood property in South Beach, with great views of the ocean and the nearby nightlife on Collins Ave and Ocean Drive. Style of the hotel is very art deco, which had been well maintained by the excellent staff. The valet parking guys were especially nice and helpful throughout our stay. Will definitely come back again.

Phenomenal location with spectacular views! My family and I stayed here for a weekend and had no complaints. The guest services were amazing. We had great food with exceptional service from our server Sylvia. The crab and mango salad is a must have! My family and I enjoyed many tourist activities right here in South Beach with the help from the local advisor at the front lobby. We celebrated my wife’s birthday on our last day of our stay on the beautiful beach! The staff was awesome and were so happy to hear we could have food service right on the beach! Our server, Victoria was wonderful. She was very informative and made sure we were well taken care of on our last day of our stay and made sure my wife had an amazing birthday. We will definitely be back to this location! We highly recommend the experience at the Royal Palm.

Loved or 6 day stay here, Our room (1145) was great and we loved our beautiful sunrise views. Hotel is close to all the South beach action and just a few steps from the ocean. Pools are great, staff was great. Prices just like in all of south beach, are high, but if you are going to south beach you know this. We will be back again to this hotel.

1st staying at the royal palm, had a awesome stay. Room was clean, staff was great. Great pool, land once you walk out of the gated pool area your Rite on the beach. There wasn’t a lot of kids at the resort, that. Was a plus for me. Also a fully stocked wet bar in the room. Perfect. A one block walk to the main strip. Right in the heart of south beach

This place was lovely and surprisingly, affordable! We opted for the ocean view room and I'm glad we did. We were on High floor and it was nice to relax on the little balcony with drinks at night and listen to the music and waves below. Comfy beds, clean amenities, friendly staff. Highly recommend this place :)

I only did a 4 rating because the pool was a little small and became shaded from other hotels around 3pm, plus the drinks at the pool were under poured and over priced (to be expected all over South Beach though).

Not only is the location & price ideal, the hotel was recently updated & looks great. The staff is friendly & the rooms & amenities are all you would ever need. I will stay there again if I'm visiting Miami.

The location is at the beginning of the Art Deco Historical Area so EVERYTHING is walking distance. There's direct beach access which was a huge selling point.

Never tried the restaurants but are at the bar a few times. Service there was ok, friendly but didn't wow me but the food was excellent as were the drinks.

We really enjoyed our stay!

The hotel was fantastic as well as the employees working there. They are quick to be of service and were even able to get us checked in sooner than normal due to an early flight into Miami. I was able to seek shelter at this hotel during Hurricane Irma because they welcomed my pup too. The staff was polite and attentive. The room was for the most part clean but there was a towel at the floor of the tub from the previous guest. The location is 1 block from lincoln road and it is right on the beach so its perfect for tourists. I would stay here again.

The Royal Palm seems to be separated into 2 wings one is the older 3 level wing while the other is the multi story tower. I stayed on floor 2 of the older 3-wing building. Unfortunately in this section you do not have a view of anything and the noise from the pool is quite loud, even inside the room with the door closed. Otherwise the room was decorated in a modern. Fashion and was generally comfortable. On the positive side, the rates were decent, the pool was nice, and the beach had free use of chairs and towels (umbrellas cost about 20 dollars to rent...and you will need one). There is beach drink and food service which is relatively expensive, but there is a liquor store close by if you want to just bring your own. All around the Royal Palm was a cost effective means to stay on the beach and get some sun.

Clean, nice hotel.
Good location and directly at the beach & Lincoln rd.
Good food, friendly and a full 4Star Hotel.

Rooms look just like picture on site. Very nice and clean besides the smell in the room the oder I could tell they allowed pets. Wasn't a pleasant smell that's the only reason I didn't give 5 star. The cookery had amazing food order two burgers and two spirits was about $110 so kinda pricey. But when on vacation you enjoy yourself the pool on deck and also ground pool was nice and clean. The ocean front with umbrellas with bar service was also nice and relaxing. Exclude two loungers and two beach towels umbrellas was an additional fee $19 Definitely will stay here again!

Arroyo in the Grove restaurant was amazing. Oz and Jesus on the beach were amazing. Gabby by the pool was amazing. The best service at a hotel we have ever had. Rooms are good for the price and the food and drinks at the resort were amazing. Never had a bad experience during our 5 day stay.

Maid service could be more detailed, if you were to force me to complain. But when we called the front desk they sent someone up immediately to fix the issue.

The nicest room I have stayed in. Bathroom is very large with incredible decor. The staff from the door man to the staff on the beach and everyone in between could not be any nicer and always willing to help. Location is in walking distance from Lincoln Mall to Ocean Drive. But our favorite part of the trip was Edwin he took incredible care of us at the pool bar. Thanks Brian and Carol Nashville Tn.

My husband and I are currently staying here and I don't usually do reviews but I feel that one of the lovely ladies on reception defiantly deserved one her name is Ingrid and she went 100 percent above and beyond to provide a fantastic experience for myself and my husband! Yes they were having some minor renovations but she want out of her way to make sure our honeymoon in Miami was a fantastic experience, it is people like her who make the service industry amazing and I wish that all staff that we encountered at check in at other hotels were like her, thank you royal palm and Ingrid once again xxx

Would definitely stay again. It's right on the beach, with two nice pools. Staff was very friendly and went above and beyond on many occasions, and even gave suggestions on where else to park. Valet is $42 a night which was outrageous, but public parking was much better. Drink and food prices are expensive, but it is South Beach and every place is the same. Service charge that others are complaining about is the tip, which every other place has as well. Could not say enough good things about the hotel. Booked through the hotels website rather than Expedia or those discount sites. It was cheaper and they treat you so much better. They even gave us an ocean view at no extra cost!

The valet is the best on the beach. Been to alot of hotels in the beach. First impressions are top notch. Image is everything, pull up to any hotel and get bad valet service. The rest of the hotels maybe nice but your first impressions will dictate the rest of your experience. If you get bad greetings at valet would you trust them with your car? That is why I never valet park my car. If I was to valet park my car anywhere on the beach it would be at the Royal Palms.

This hotel is beautiful injustice and out, it was renovated in 2009 but it looks like it was renovated last week, the hotel has been very well kept and is in gogeous condition! The pool is just amazing and is a 10 second walk from the beach. They have many games and activities to keep you and the whole family busy, and it's in the heart of South Beach and the entire art deco area. Highly recommended this hotel!

For the reasonable price, it's a good place to stay. Service is an A+, especially Ingrid at the front desk & Pedro in the restaurant. Rooms are fine. Pool area is excellent.Good vibe to the place. Would stay here again.

I can't tell you how much my wife and I enjoyed our stay here. First off, the entire staff was amazing! They were all so kind and professional. Great SPG Platinum recognition! A few examples: First, we walked in at 1 am and I asked the front desk for a beer. They told me that the fridges were locked but they found someone who had a key and they got me a beer. In fact, they gave me 2 beers just because it took 5 minutes to get the beers. Second, the breakfast was supposed to stay open until 11:30am. When we got down there at 11:00, they were already cleaning up. They told me they had a private party that they needed to set up for. Well, the manager Pedro came to rescue. He offered me 3 options: 1) we could eat a few bites from the lobby bar, 2) we could go back to the room and order room service, 3) if we wanted lunch, we could eat at the restaurant outside. We chose the restaurant and Pedro took care of the entire tab. Ladies and Gentlemen, If that's not customer service, I don't know what is! I've stayed in at least 30 different hotels in South Beach and this is now my go to hotel anytime I'm in South Beach!

This was my third time staying here. I've stayed here before and after the renovation. I'm always impressed by the friendly staff and the wonderful aroma of the resort. I love the location of this place, it's close to everything. Royal Palm is affordable and still very nice.

This was my first trip to Miami and flight. The trip, the stay, every thing was awesome. The beach, stores, restaurants, bars and clubs were all in close traveling distance. I can't wait to come back and enjoy south beach again. 😃😃😃

One of the best hotels in SoBe. Beautiful art deco hotel, renovated lobby and pool and very nice rooms with extremely comfortatable beds. Lots of cool local art and tons of nooks and crannies to hang out inside and outside the hotel. Has the best entrance a hotel which feels nice coming back each night. The staff here are excellent and very friendly/helpful. Very good beach club. The tacos they serve sometimes by the pool are some of the best we have ever had.

The hotel has been renovated so it looks nice. They are also 2 bars inside the hotel with happy hours. Our room was spacious and we had a great street view.

This is the best beach resort my family has ever been. The staff is so friendly, everyone was smiling, and was very helpful. I would have to say that the Royal Palm got a perfect 10.

Very clean, chic, trendy, and relaxing with a nice pool and direct pathway down to the beach. Although I did not get to see much of the beach because of work, I enjoyed my stay here due to the staff being accommodating & friendly, an awesome, soft bed, and having many convenient stores, great food (Byblos Middle Eastern is amazing), and events nearby. I decided to stay at the Royal Palm again after staying at several Miami hotels in the last few weeks. Definitely recommend.

My husband and I are currently staying here and I don't usually do reviews but I feel that one of the lovely ladies on reception defiantly deserved one her name is Ingrid and she went 100 percent above and beyond to provide a fantastic experience for myself and my husband! Yes they were having some minor renovations but she want out of her way to make sure our honeymoon in Miami was a fantastic experience, it is people like her who make the service industry amazing and I wish that all staff that we encountered at check in at other hotels were like her, thank you royal palm and Ingrid once again xxx Zoe and Nick leavy

My girls and I stayed in a 2 bedroom suite for a bachelorette party weekend and we all LOVED this hotel. The rooms decor was great, the staff was amazing they went above and beyond for our group, and the location is perfect! At the time of our stay the main pool and lobby were being reconstructed and we still loved our stay. I will definitely stay here again!!!

It has been a good stay. I believe they clean the rooms twice a day. It's clean and the beds are very comfortable and soft. The location is great, just a 2 min walk from the beach and 2 mum walk to the main ocean drive! Everyone has been mostly nice and helpful. The service people are being good and friendly.

I asked for a quiet room.

I had checked out of another hotel because it was too loud. The front desk thoughtfully found me a quiet room. Front desk was helpful.

There were random hairs on some bath towels and the sofa cushions. The body lotion looked old and used. The maid service needs to improve. They dropped this review to 4 stars.

If you're in South Beach and want a nice place under $400 / night, this is still a great place, despite the maid service issue.

They have issue with cleanliness: soap leftover from previous guests, hair in bathroom. Dirty lounge chair cushions. Holes in the bed sheet, run down furniture.
Staff is kind and location is great, love the interior design.

Known for relaxing vibe and great service, The Royal Palm South Beach Miami did provide me with an enjoyable vacation experience after a meeting in Tampa. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by the courteous front desk associate, Victovia, at the hotel’s Art Deco-styled lobby and got a Platinum upgrade to the Superior Suite, which had a separate and cozy sitting area near the entrance of the suite, with wonderful partial ocean view and city view.

My reservation was booked directly via Starwood’s reservations website, which included complimentary beach chairs and welcome drink/fruit baskets on daily basis. The manager from the hotel’s beach service desk, Chase, was very friendly, helpful and responsive to my requests.

Location wise, it is very convenient – the hotel is located on 15th Street, which is just north of the prominent Ocean Drive.

My only complaint is that during my stay at The Royal Palm South Beach, as the hotel had just been acquired by Starwood Hotels, the housekeeping department did not have any slippers available, and all the bath towels were quite thin and not in an ideal condition, with some towels that still had the old James Royal Palm labels on the towels being only partially removed.

All in all, The Royal Palm South beach is a beautiful hotel with incredible décor, and I am sure over time all the small issues will be rectified.

This hotel is the center of Miami Beach. 15th and Collins. Given the fact that this property is under SPG, our group decided to rent 3 rooms at this hotel for my birthday. Before check in, she called the hotel to verify that we had early checkin and they said yes. So we got to the hotel around 12 and weren’t able to check in until 3:55pm. Not only did this happen to us, but many others were just waiting around as well. They have books at the reservation counters, I guess you can read while you wait lol. My mom had requested certain things that she paid in advance for that were not delivered or followed through. Even though she paid in advance. They did give her a 100 credit at the end of check out. The pool is small. Arrive early to grab chairs. Towels are provided. I recommend going to the liquor store. We had 3shots at the bar and it was literally $80. WOAH. Definitely bring your own liquor. We had a breakfast voucher, but if you don’t have that, breakfast will easily run you $35 per person. Breakfast is buffet style. Scrambled eggs are watery. The hotel does provide beach chairs on the beach. And is only a minute walk from the hotel. Each room is allowed 2 beach chairs. Its a nice modern hotel. We grabbed this hotel because of a groupon deal we found. Room walls are thin! You will hear the doors of other rooms opening and closing. That was my biggest pet peeve. Room was clean upon entry. There are large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash in the shower. If you have questions, ask the valet people. They know their stuff. The bell men are sweet and go out of their way to assist. I had left a gift bag outside. And after two hours I realized I had forgotten it outside lol. I went and asked the bellman if he saw it. He had left it with the front desk. All of my goodies were still in there the way I left it. Now thats something you don’t see often from a hotel. Always tip when the service is like that.

P.S. beds are super comfy! Everything in the room worked!

My Girlfriend and I stayed at the hotel for her 28th birthday. From our first step into the resort we were treated by a friendly and helpful staff. The hotel looked beautiful and the room was the perfect. Beach staff were great and she loved the little extras that came along with the beach service. A real breath of fresh air after dealing with rude & unhelpful staff like at other resorts in South Beach in the past. Although our trip was short lived, the experience made it feel like a week long retreat. We will be back next year to do it all over again.
