More a 4.8, friendly staff, clean rooms, very cozy, neat tub in room, walking distance to food, events, beach, movies, etc. Minus .2 only because air conditioning was loud and too warm out to turn off and outside garbage cans were over filled all weekend.

Room was nice, but small. Cable TV was disconnected. Had loose faucet in bathroom. Other than that, everything was perfect. The room is really set up nicely for a couple to have a romantic getaway. This was my 2nd stay here, and it won't be the last.

The Staff were awesome and so was the room. The bed and linens were incredibly soft and so comfortable. Great experience. We will definitely be back.

Small room with updated bathroom and hot tub. Central location close to the heavenly resort, restaurants, and bars.

Clean, right down the street from heavenly gondola and shopping. Staff was polite and helpful. They allowed an early check in, which was made things less stressful, since I had a wedding to attend at 4. Only thing that sucked., was being on the bottom floor with upstairs neighbors that were loud as hell.

Great rooms. Lynn was the best. Will be coming back for the Alpine Plus Suite. Tahoe Plus Suite is perfect though.

This place has been great in the past, but today's experience has jaded me. I made reservations on Thursday using a credit card to reserve a room and asking to pay cash upon arrival. They charged the amount to a credit card that wasn't mine even though in the past they been able to reserve it just with the expectation of cash upon arrival. The girl at the desk was an hour over due for leaving and while I understand their wanting to leave, when I asked if returning guests get a better rate, which I am a returning guest, sure was unable to change my rates to reflect that.

All in all, the rooms are great, the area is great, but I don't appreciate what seems to be the new owner's take in customer service.

Had to book early for New Years! Room was small, but accommodating. Walking distance to lots of shops, food, and casinos. Didn't really do to the lake, this trip, but it seemed a walking distance for the active person. I would definitely stay again!

I give this place a solid 2-stars. Just recently stayed here from Friday (3pm check-in), until Sunday (11:30am check-out). PROS: Location - Short walk to "Beach", and plenty of places to eat near by. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff. CONS: We had a few issues with the room we had booked (Deluxe King Room) - 1st key didn't work, room was poorly cleaned (hair and dirt were present throughout the room), the entertainment center (where you would normally put a TV inside) looked like someone was hanging on the top of it - causing the top boards to break apart, small hole in ceiling (looked like a heel was stuck in the roof), hot tub faucet seal was torn, shower head was weak (also sprayed water everywhere - nearly getting everything in the bathroom soaked), gas fireplace had very noticeable scrapes on it, all electronics seemed to be outdated. My experience was not a very relaxing experience - due to only getting a verbal guarantee by 2 staff members that I would not be charged for any damages...when the golden rule is, "Get it in writing". I did not want to be considered as the "Problem Tenant", so I let it slide like an idiot. Still worried I will be charged for something in that room. This was my experience, and my opinion. Have a great day!

I am very compelled to write a terrible review just to keep it from being always booked. But that's not fair to the owners. The place is amazing for the category - really like what they did to what otherwise would have been your usual motel room. Definitely get a room with the bubble tub. The only hickup is that boiler is not up to critical time service - when everyone comes back from resorts, you might end up with water being cold for a little while in both taps. The front desk people are friendly and helpful though, so no hard feelings on my part.

15 degrees outside? No problem! This place has bedrooms with a jacuzzi and gas fire place! It's walking distance to all casinos and restaurants, PLUS you can hear everyone in the rooms getting it on.

Spent my wife's birthday here in July 2016. Nothing to complain about. Nice decor, outdoor sitting area, close to shops, casinos and restaurants, most within walking distance. I'd come back here.

The rooms are cozy with a nice shower, jacuzzi tub and a gas fire place.

The only issue we had was with water spout for the rub - it was very loose and seemed like it was about to fly off from the water pressure.

My husband and I made the long trip from Iowa to South Lake Tahoe for our honeymoon, and chose Secrets Inn for our Monday - Friday stay in early July. The location is AMAZING. It's right off the busy road, so the actual hotel location is not very busy, but it's so close to Heavenly Village and the beach that we walked everywhere we went.

We stayed in their largest room, and overall had a good time with the room. It was spacious without being overwhelming. The whole hotel is due for an upgrade though, from the outside, inside the rooms, to even the DVDs. Everything seems dated by at least 10-15 years. The room smelled a little musty (hint: old) when we got there, but we just opened a window and that helped a lot. The heart jacuzzi tub was so nice, and we used it every night. The water gets really hot, and the pressure from the shower head was perfect. However, several of the jets don't work or hardly work in the tub, and one of the covers came off as soon as we started it up.

The bed was huge and so comfy, with plenty of pillows and blankets. The sofa isn't super comfortable, but who wants to spend all their time in their hotel on the couch anyway. The TV has an additional HDMI cable, which was great for hooking up our laptops to watch Netflix. The wifi was okay most of the time, but around 10:00 pm every night, it would become unstable and start going in and out.

The hotel provides a pass to the beach for the guests, but you have to go in and ask for it. They also have DVDs you can rent, which is great in theory, except that all the DVDs are SO dated. I mean, we watched Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Good Will Hunting. I think the most recent movie on the shelf was at least 10 years old. Go to Wal-Mart and hit up the $5 or $10 movie bin, for Pete's sake. But seriously, it was nice to come home after a long day on the lake and relax in the room.

The location is really the selling point for this place, and they have the potential to be a true sleeper cell if they just do some updates. We enjoyed our time here.

10 minute walk from Heavenly's gondola, supermarket, restaurants, and souvenir stores. Tub is big enough for two and the shower is great for defrosting snowboards. Stayed here on a Groupon and the deal was a steal. Will definitely return.

Friendly staff, easy checkin/out, and great accommodations for couples. In room jacuzzi tub and fireplace were a very nice touch and relaxing way to spend the evening after a long day of snowboarding. Literally 5 minutes walking to Heavenly village.

My wife and I stayed at Secrects Inn this past weekend for our anniversary and we loved it! Highly recommend this to any couple looking to getaway for a nice relaxing weekend.

Dustin went above and beyond for us and Debbie was very kind to accommodate for our special occasion. Left my wallet behind (with a lot of cash & credit) in the lobby and Dustin contacted us right away!!

Upgrade to the Alpine Suite to make the experience that much better. Arrive in your room to a bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberry ice cream, a heart shaped jetted tub with a double shower, fireplace, futon and flat screen.

They offer a complimentary iPad 3, DVD checkout, and much much more during your stay!

Decent hotel. The prices are not that high when compared to other places near by. Close to the beach and the casinos. But the rooms aren't that great. All it all a okay place to stay if you are going to mostly be out for hiking or enjoying the lake and casinos

Stayed July 19-22, 2009

The room was small, but for an Inn it was a really nice place to pay for the price, especially for a couple on a budget but still wanted to have a very romantic comfortable getaway. The manager was very nice. The room was so cute, but I don't think this will be good for big people tho, unless you get their Alpine room. Since me & my husband are skinny the Tahoe Suite was perfect for us! This is really a secret place to be :)

I will definitely stay here again & try their other 2 rooms.
