Enjoyed our stay here. The rooms have great views. Hotel staff are very pleasant.
I like that there are thick pullout doors between the bed and couch/tv/fireplace area and a TV in each area. Nice for being able to sleep in peace if your significant other is wanting to stay up.
Beds were comfy, coffee good, daily newspaper at your door and continental breakfast in the lobby.
Great location. Easy drive to town and Point Defiance Park. Never hit bad traffic.

This is a 5 Star diamond hotel. I like to unwind and this is a great place to relax. I have not had the chance to stay over night. But the staff is very friendly. The view is one of the best.

We loved this hotel!! We had a king with jetted tub room. It was more than we normally spend, but we really wanted that jetted tub to relax and soothe tired muscles! The room was spacious. It had a nice flat screen tv and electric fireplace. The jetted tub was in the room next to the window. You had to climb up and over the tub or stand in it to close the blinds or you could be seen from the outside while in the tub, but it was okay. The view was beautiful and the tub came with bath salts that smelled amazing! There were extra towels and the shower was awesome! The bed was oh so comfy! We slept like rocks and didn't even try to get up in time for breakfast which ended at 9:30. Complimentary robes provided. Free shuttle!

Really nice place; someone else recommended and was paying. Otherwise I would have missed this gem. Worth a visit, great location on the water. Very cozy!

We love this hotel. Great staff, great rooms, beautiful views. Check in at 3pm and out at Noon is like 2xtra hours at the hotel vs. the norm. Easy to find great deals online at the Silvercloud website. A great get away.

Loved the location and views. We were within walking distance of great food. We couldn't stop looking out the window. It was raining when we stayed, but it was a wonderful place.

My wife and I researched places to stay in Tacoma on our drive home from Arizona to Canada.
We thought it was a cute place and made reservations.
Upon arrival, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We joked back and forth and were welcomed in like family.
We asked for a great place to eat and things to see and they were bang on with food, sites and easy driving.
The views are awesome, the sounds of the ship yard and trains are great, the smell is even amazing of the clean ocean air.
The rooms were spotless, bed was brand new and comfy .
We are already talking about going back to Tacoma and staying in the same hotel.

Highly recommend this place to everyone.

I have stayed in a lot of hotels in my day and never, I mean never, have I been treated so well. Everyone that works here is so friendly. The staff is extremely accommodating. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. We have never had an issue with anything not working or out of place. We have stayed here over five times and would never stay anywhere else in Tacoma. We love the Silver Cloud Inn.

This place has some very clear pros & cons, but very doubtful I'd stay here again. The biggest thing to keep in mind, the location is very near a shipping terminal so expect to see lots of barges and a constant flow of loud trains blowing their horns. Very strange location...it was a mix of industrial + residential. Definitely not quaint, secluded, or relaxing. If you like sleeping with the windows open to enjoy the fresh air, you're not going to be getting must rest. It also really surprised me this place didn't have an on-site restaurant, or at least a cocktail lounge. The bathrooms were also about as small/tight/cramped as I've ever seen in a hotel. Now on to the good...the property was clean and in very good condition. It was also within walking distance of a few local restaurants and bars. The daily breakfast offered was above average when it comes to continental hotel breakfasts, and the daily newspaper was a nice perk. Unfortunately, in our eyes the cons outweighed the pros so I likely won't be staying here again or recommending it to anyone.

While I did not require any services beyond the room and amenities therein, my stay was outstanding. The room had a stellar view. The jetted tub was amazing as was the bed and television.

Pretty good. Expected slightly more for the price. View is fantastic. The linens are 'okay', pillows were pretty small and uncomfortable. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was standard continental fare. Parking is awful if you are coming in late and driving anything other than a motorcycle or smart car.

Super helpful staff. Even when I wasn't a guest here, just a local resident, they let me use their business center (just a computer and printer in reality) to print off something when I was desperate. Didn't give me a hard time or prove I was a guest, and when I asked if I needed to pay he said no! Best night ever and was having the worst time
Thank you so much

A must try! We had room 334, a corner top floor. Jacuzzi, big screen TV above fire place, king bed, lovely bath robes (2).plenty of soft towels, extra pillow in drawer. Vending and ice close by. The view was spectacular. We walked to Harbor Lights for dinner, about a 10 minute walk, pleasant scenery. We stayed overnight on a Friday, so we got the breakfast until 10am. Waffle bar, cranberry juice, OJ, coffee scrambled eggs, sausage, home fried potatoes, quiche. And that's the only things I ate. Lol. I did hear the trains, but wasn't much louder than the heater or AC. I also sleep with the TV on and turned low volume. I thought it was relaxing. The only con I had was the fireplace is electric, the simulated fire. Kind of a bad one. But everything else made up for it.

The location was easy to get to and the view from the room was awesome. The check in took a very long time but I don't think it was the hotels issue but the fact that I booked online. The staff, especially the night auditor Will, went above and beyond. Would definitely stay there again.

Although the front desk staff was professional and courteous, check in took almost an hour. Room was clean, but a little small. Complementary breakfast was okay and the coffee was good. On a scale of 1 to 10, overall experience was 6.5.

Surrounded on three sides by water, every room has a great view. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the complementary breakfast is exceptional with many hot entree choices. Gluten-free and lactose-restricted guests will also find plenty to choose from. Free parking.

Very nice hotel. Good views and great location. Many wonderful seafood restaurants on the waterfront (Duke's was our favorite) as well as good access to Point Defiance Park and Zoo.

Nice rooms, awesome view. Facilities were clean and well kept. The fire place in our room wasn't actually a fire place, but a screen with fake wood. We paid extra expecting a real fire place, but were disappointed. The bathroom was small, but nice. The gym has dumbbells, a treadmill, bike, and olyptical. Small gym, but suffices for a hotel workout. The free breakfast was a let down, again it is a hotel not a restaurant so temper your expectations. Overall we would come back purely for the location and views.

Such a great resort next to the water! Lovely room with the huge jacuzzi! The view outside was spectacular and extraordinary! I can't wait to go back and stay again! Breakfast and coffee was the best! Thank you for everything!

Silver Cloud Inn is a nice clean hotel with decent-sized rooms and complimentary breakfast. The bathroom door just does open past the toilet but there is sufficient room otherwise. Lounge is clean and good for talking or playing games. The views are pleasant from most directions. Restaurants are nearby, some within walking range.
There is traffic noise--cars, truck, and train. The warning for the train is quite loud. Fun to watch the ships. And there are lots of activities for everyone.

Would stay here again and again. Thee FRIENDLIEST front desk staff and (complimentary) shuttle driver (thank you Rodney and Jim). Beautiful view out the window. GREAT shower. Nice amenities. Good complimentary breakfast in the morning. Quiet. Felt safe. Loved it!

I have just reserved for my 3rd stay here. Read below for review of w/c accessibility. I am a cheap motel visitor usually since I don't stay that much in the room. However, Silver Cloud is worth every penny. The views, being on the waterfront and being able to get out and up/down Ruston Way, the full breakfast, the amenities, the laundry room, the views, the gardens, - it is so worth it for a vacation. Plus for me, it is very close to my family who live in the North End. I am also a scooter rider, so let me fill you in on the w/c accessible room. The shower is spacious, there is a shower chair tucked away in a cupboard. The room is narrow - so navigation is tight and I wouldn't want more than one person with me - unless the others were children who can bounce over the furniture. Bed is a bit high and on the soft side so that independent transfers into bed take work - but are doable. Go down to window and watch the variety of ducks paddling around.
It is truly a wonderful place to stay to me.

I'm a local resident that had family in town staying at the Silver Cloud Inn. They loved it. They said it was one of the best hotels they stayed at. Great location right on the water. I joined them for their full breakfast, and it was great.

Nice facility, friendly staff, decent breakfast. Sadly the Grinch of a GM canceled the Tuesday manager receptions for the holidays. So much for the "every Tuesday signage". I heard they were pretty decent too, bahhumbug.

Room was clean and nice. Facility was clean. Staff was nice. Slightly over priced, but it's on the water, so what can I expect. Seems to be the only hotel in Tacoma with Jacuzzis in some rooms. Would stay again.

Very positive experience. The rooms are very nice with large T.V.'s, plush beds, microwaves, refrigerators, and other common amenities. The "extended" continental breakfast is nice, and there is a nice boardwalk that rings around the building and over the water, offering a pleasant view. The staff member we had the pleasure of interacting with was VERY friendly. Overall an excellent experience.

I stayed here in April 2015 while I was visiting Tacoma for a job interview. My room was stunning, with windows on two walls looking out onto the water. Sunrise was breathtaking. I also appreciated the weekly "customer appreciation hour" in the lobby with an amazing array of appetizers. This hotel definitely sold Tacoma for me, and I happily accepted the job offer. (Side note- this is now a great spot to play Pokemon Go, with plentiful water spawns on the property.)

My husband and I stayed Sept. 2 & 3, 2016. It was amazing. We had room 346, and you couldn't ask for a better room. The front desk staff were amazing. They found out it was our 31st anniversary and had the availability to upgrade us for our room. We were stunned, to say the least. Breakfast each morning was great (only downfall was a little too much rosemary in their potatoes). Their dining area made for a great experience. We were able to meet other people and chat who were staying at the Inn. We would definitely go back again! Silver Cloud, you are so worth it. Thank you for your wonderful service.

When I'm in Tacoma I always try to stay here if it isn't booked. Fairly reasonable rates and walking distance from plenty to do on the waterfront. Also a hotel owned shuttle that'll take you just about anywhere. Definitely a nice place to stay

Pluses: Wonderful views, nice location, friendly staff, quiet.
Other: interior room was dated (bordering on dingy), bed and bedding were adequate but not great.
Closer to 3.5 stars but views ARE spectacular.

What makes a great hotel stay is cleanliness, comfort, and the friendliness of the staff. This hotel has hit all 3. It is very well managed and operated from the perspective of someone who travels for work and stays at many different hotels. This one is a winner.
