Chelsea hotel is nice. Restaurant on 5 is excellent. GilchiGit's is so so. They don't know how to make home fries. It's boiled red skin potatoes and put on grill with oil. Bacon reheated, eggs made perfectly. Valet parking is $15 one time charge. Problem is garage closes at 8pm, now must drive to South tower valet parking, then walk back to Chelsea hotel. Went making reservations no tells about these inconveniences. Terrible. Please beware when booking.

Went for the 2018 Air Show, got a reservation for the $35 price fixed lunch. Had a great server, Bob and another gentleman who kept my water glass and iced tea filled.
Great location with spectacular views of the show thru very tall windows. Food was terrific, I had the Chelsea burger that was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. When I was originally seated, I asked the host if we were permitted to stay the length of the show and he said yes... I felt bad because at a certain point after I finished my lunch, I was just sucking up iced teas and told the server, Bob, that I would be adding an additional $20 to the bill for his tip... Soon after I sat there for more than an hour with two empty glasses and no one even attempting to refill them... I asked for the check and notices that there was an alcoholic drink added to my check that I hadn't ordered and called for the server... It was taken off, but the tip was also reduced for the lack of service and the added item to the bill.... Nice experience up till then... But likely will not return unless contacted by management

We were promised oceanview room and we actually got one. Comfortable beds and clean. Nonsmoking. We had our choice of 3 pools. Adult pool very nice with bar and food. We did not have to Rent a lounge chair - great plus. There was spot to get a massage right by the pool, chair or regular- another plus. Enclosed walkway to Tropicana Casino, access to boardwalk. Good experience.

This hotel was bought by the Tropicana in October of 2017 and you can access the Tropicana casino by a bridge. This hotel has been upgraded and has alot of modern and new amenitites including the Whiskey bar, 21+ salt water pool and a new restaurant. You are steps from the Beach.

There are two cautions to have a great experience. One this Hotel is designed for Adults, so if you have Children, this is not the place for you. Two if you stay on the Tropicana facing side the rooms on that side overlook the Days Inn, so you can see people out on the balconies there.

The bed was heavenly, the room had an art deco feel and I awoke looking out at the Ocean, the room was quiet no outside noise could be heard.

Parking tips: You can Valet at the Chelsea or Tropicana, the Valet at the Chelsea will bring your car over from the Tropicana garages. If you self- park do so at the Chelsea because you will have to walk over to the Tropicana garages. Getting out of the Chelsea garage is quick and easy which is an advantage over parking at the Tropicana where you can wait an hour to leave after you get into your car in the valet queue line waiting to exit.

I will stay at the Chelsea again and will recommend to friends and family.

The Chelsea is associated with the Tropicana in that I booked a room at the Trop but ended up staying in the Chelsea Tower. Access to the Chelsea Tower was horribly inconvenient and not at all well marked. Upon checkout, even the woman at the check out desk could not tell me the easiest way to get to the Tropicana Parking Garage from inside the Chelsea. The Chelsea 5 restaurant was decent; food was above average and priced appropriately; ambiance is nice but likely to be dated quickly; the view however, is not pleasing... An oceanfront table boasts the view of the roof of the days inn.

This hotel has a pretty cool vibe! The pool DJ was cool and the selection of boutique restaurants was refreshing. Also the unicorns in the swimming pool are the best in town.

The Chelsea is a lovely location. I stayed in the King Luxe Suite. I was under the impression that it was newly renovated. Not so much furniture is old and used although it had a nice distressed vintage look to it. Our room had a mini fridge, coffee maker, blow dryer, & iron. There was no Microwave I was very disappointed. Literally from out hotel across from it was the beach and broad-walk. We also had the option of the 5th floor lounge where there is a bar pool lounge that closes roughly early @6 to be exact.

Pool is over 21 fantastic! Great food from Gastro 5 pub. Limited menu but good variety of adult food and amazing drinks. Beautiful bar area with pool table and.lots of.little private conversation nooks. Really well done by Tropicana

I was concerned after reading some of the reviews. But after our stay I can tell you the bad reviews are far from the truth. This place was amazing! For an old hotel this place is beautiful. The Tropicana did an awesome job. The new sky walk/bridge or whatever they call it conveniently connects The Chelsea to The Tropicana casino and other facilities. The employees were very friendly. We will definitely be back.

The Chelsea used to be a beautiful hotel with two pools that was perfect walking distance from the boardwalk one of the only hotels without a casino in Atlantic City. So beautiful and amazing. The staff were always so friendly.then, this past year in 2017 Tropicana bought The Chelsea. I thought it was gonna be great since I’ve heard the Tropicana was also a great hotel. Wrong. The pools that were great at the Chelsea have now been changed. The rooftop pool is now 21+ only and the first floor salt water pool next to the restaurant is only open on the weekends. Tropicana also has the worst staff that are so rude. Tropicana, you ruined my favorite hotel in Atlantic City.

I just stayed at the Chelsea Hotel at Atlantic City. I was very skeptical about staying at this hotel because of the reviews. Glad I went anyway. The hotel was absolutely beautiful. There are two towers The Chelsea Luxe which is the one I stayed at ( non smoking) and the Chelsea Annex ( smoking). The Chelsea Luxe is the better one of the two. The decor was very nice. Did not want to leave the room. The bed was comfortable. Room very clean. Staff was excellent. The sky bridge is open. Love this hotel and would definitely stay again.

My room was nice. It wasn't crowed. I called down to the help desk bc I wanted to eat my left overs and they didn't even have forks! So I guess no room service

Stayed at the Chelsea for the first time. From reading past reviews I had read that this hotel was more motel like than hotel. I booked this hotel using an Express deal on Expedia. I got the Tropicana with a room at the Chelsea since it is now owned by Tropicana. As soon as I checked in I was upgraded to a oceanfront room. There is no skyway connecting the Tropicana to Chelsea so you have to go outside and cross the street to get to the hotel. Hotel is a little outdated but still very clean and presentable. The room was big and very clean. The window facing the ocean was a small window but it was still a nice view. It did have a big side window facing the Tropicana which was nice. The bathroom had a walk in shower which was pretty but the temperature of the water would take a long time to adjust. Overall I had a good experience it was definitely better than I expected.

Rooms were ok. The walkway between the Tropicana and the Chelsea is not finished yet and will make it alot easier than walking through a parking garage at 4am to get back to your room. We were with a large group but definitely could see it being a safety issue alone after a night out. The entire city was experiencing power issues during our stay and we were without AC and lights for most of the morning of checkout. I tried calling the front desk from the room (no phones) and from my cell and go nothing. We just assumed everything was ok since no one evacuated us.

Just fine, Tropicana didn't inform us that they acquired the chelsea and moved us into the far end of the place. Some of the casino facilities refused to do business with a friend because his government ID wasn't what they wanted, who the hell keep a passport on them all the time? Otherwise, it was fine.

Room was a nice size with great view. Air conditioning was musky but not awful. Hallways are dated. Wasnt too noisy for being Atlantic city. Could have signs directing quickest way to tropicana.

Nice hotel room (King, non smoking)was clean and comfortable. Not much of a view. Lobby looks nice also. KioskIce machines on every other floor?? What they definitely need is a walkway going straight into the Casino

I booked this hotel because of the ocean view and that did not disappoint. The hotel room is beautiful and clean. I also picked this location because everytine I come to AC I’m always hanging out at the Tropicana.

Pros: Attractive lobby, Close to the Boardwalk and beach, Friendly staff, minutes from the Quarter, Ocean View, comfortable beds. Cons: Out dated furniture, stains on curtains and wall paper, dirty windows, flies and mosquitoes in the room. Bathroom toilet had urine under the seat, shower door and mirror streaked, carpet stained, room smelled stale. This hotel needs a makeover and a good scrubbing. I was able to manage fine for our one night getaway but I would not recommend this hotel nor would I stay here again. The only thing that appeared to be new or updated about this hotel was the Tropicana sign out front.

The Chelsea is definitely a plan "B" hotel if you want to stay at the Tropicana, it's part of the Tropicana but it a separate builder and is definitely lessor quality compared to the rooms located on the main building.

7

Pretty neat place to stay. Now that it's part of Tropicana makes it nice. If you've stayed in a room in the south tower at Tropicana, you know what to expect. But the rooms are actually clean, and seem to be renovated somewhat recently. Only problem is they seem to have jumped the gun and maybe should have waited until the sky bridge was put in. There's also an outdoor pool. The only way to park near there is valet or one of the other lots where it's 5 or 10 dollars for 8 hrs. You can always park at Tropicana, but you'll have to walk. However, it's just a 5 minute walk anyways.

Decent, expensive on the weekends though. Nice bathrooms and showers. It's a bit confusing to check in since it's technically owned by the Tropicana now.

Luxe Ac Hotel. (off Atlantic Ave) The concierge service (Bill) was awesome! 5 star.. If we needed a ride, he called us a limo and it was only $20.00 to take us to the Trop for a nighttime dinner. The room is okay but yea, no coffee machine, no fridge and over $300.00 per night. Not cool at all. They have 2 pools which is great. One downstairs is salt water and a lot of little kids with outside bar and food. One on the 5th floor is nice, (no salt) they have outside bar and lots of chairs and you can go right to the beach from there. My only issue was when non renting peeps come from the beach and take the chairs and when the music is blasting with 50 drunk 21 year old people out of control.

Pool on rootop and u can have food delivered to the hotel at any hours of the night. It's close to Tropicana which has tons of nightlife stuff to do and I'm sure it's cheaper to stay here. I would stay again.

This is not a 5star resort. It's a 4star hotel! It has an annex which is basically a renovated motel. The Chelsea offers 2 pools with great views! Room service and friendly staff!

Too far from all the attractions, barely any food opinions that are open at decent times. The pool closes way too early. If you're looking to book check out Groupon, that's what I used it was cheap. Note that they are closed during winter, they will reopen during spring time

i stayed a night here, it kinda threw me off at 1st with the whole "annex" part, but you can tell its in between some kind of renovation phase.. the room wasnt bad at all. it was clean and the pillows were soft at hell!

4

Definately not a 4 star as they advertised. We were originally booked in the Annex section. Room was gross and we had to request a new room. New room was a little better but not 4 star as they advertised. Old and dingy. I could see the appeal to 20 something kids but if you are in your 40's and know the difference between a 2 star and 5 star hotel..this is definitely NOT the place for you!

Stayed 2 nights at the chelsea. Stayed in the annex part. No good. Didn't know there was a good part and a bad part. The bad part is bad. I don't know how the good part is. Bathroom was very outdated. No cover on hall light. Stayed in room 430. Air Conditioning sucked. Not enough outlets in room. None by bed for phone. Everything was very old. Obviously cleaned but so old the risidual dirt can not be good.

Nice rooms with great views. Club is fun during the season and coffee shop on the main floor is convenient. Very modern/chic feel.

6

It's very close to the beach, so the location is great. Otherwise it's just ok. It's pretty outdated, falling apart, and seemingly not the cleanest. There's a refrigerator in the room (although I'm not sure about the annex), but there's no coffee machine. The bed was comfy, but that was pretty necessary to allow yourself to fall asleep with the noisy air conditioner. We got a good deal, so I'd say it was worth it.

Other info: Check-in at 4pm, check-out at 11am, parking is $15 for valet or $10 for self parking

The Chelsea Hotel was great! The rooms were clean & stylish Big windows overlooking the city. I had a king bed it was so comfy & my friend spilled her drink in my bed I called front desk for a maid they were there immediately to change the whole bed. From the maid service to the desk people to the manager & even the guys who parked the car were excellent!! Everyone treats you like your VIP!! Seriously from the rooms to the service there I give 5 stars . They have 3 pools. The roof top pool by far was my favorite. They had a inside sea salt pool w a waterfall . It was great the jacuzzi was so nice & the spa Forget about it . You have to pay extra if you want a body massage or a facial but its all worth it.
