One lamp didn’t work in the room, and the lobby smelled a little old, but the room was relatively clean, and the staff was nice

Excellent spot in downtown Portland! Not too expensive. Very nice room. I did not try the first floor restaurants but the bar is excellent (they do have mint for you mohito fans). The Italian restaurant just across the street is also excellent. Easy to walk pretty much anywhere in downtown Portland.

Great downtown location. Everything was clean and up to date. Service was excellent. We chose to have the valet parking as it made life easier while we were in Portland. Never had to wait for the car to arrive. The view was great and it was mostly quiet (a bit of road noise from below, but it quieted down as the evening wore on ). We stayed 4 nights so were able to get a discount on the room. We did not eat in the restaurants downstairs.

The Paramount is a good hotel in the downtown area of Portland. It has quite a few amenities and is surrounded by a good grouping of restaurants, bars and shops. It also has a whiskey bar in the lobby, which is fantastic (huge list of drinks). The service is wonderful, very personable, and the rooms were clean and spacious. I recommend to get the corner rooms if possible, they are a little larger, and some even have a balcony with a table and chairs.

This hotel is at a great location and that makes it a good choice. Rooms are spacious and the staff is nice. This hotel is surrounded by good eating joints as well.

The downsides are no adjoining parking, we opted for valet ($45). No swimming pool and gym is bare minimum. Floors are small and ice vending machines are in alternate floors. Hotel is old but well maintained.

Great experience from front door to desk. Refrigerator and coffeemaker. Very quiet. Large rooms. Comfortable beds. Perfect shower pressure. Perfect location for walking to famous Portland sites. Great Italian restaurant across street. Target a few blocks away. Minutes to highway. Parking next door $20 a night.

7

Very nice hotel at reasonable price in excellent downtown location. Room was comfortable and spacious. Note that entrance and valet parking pull out may be hard to spot when navigating downtown traffic. You will have to pay for valet parking or park in a nearby garage (less than 1 block from entrance), which has reasonable overnight parking. Good public transit within 2 blocks to access many city sites, plenty of good restaurants, appeared to be a safe area for walking around.

Well-outfitted rooms, sunny staff, central but still-peaceful location. In-room fridges are a real boon to foodies like me and my wife. And as I'm never entirely off call from work, the ample desk and numerous outlets were very helpful. (There's also a microwave hidden in a corner of the lobby but we only discovered it while checking out.) The hotel could make it a bit easier to print out music and soccer tickets and boarding passes and the like. Overall a terrifically run hotel.

Location of the hotel was good, in the middle of the city. Parking seems to be an issue in Portland and if you had a car the only hotel parking is $43 valet service but you could come and go as much as you wanted. The staff was friendly. There is a restaurant and bar in the hotel. The rooms were nice and clean. The bathroom was very nice with a large tub and bath salts included. There was also a separate large nice shower. Really enjoyed our stay here and would stay here again if visiting Portland.

10

Very pleased with the hotel. Great location. I appreciated the onsite fitness center as well as the free headphones available for those who may have forgotten theirs. The one complaint that I have was that the balcony rooms with double beds face a building so there is no real view to speak of from the balcony that would be worth paying extra for. But, it was nice to be able to sit outside on the balcony, regardless of the lack of view. I also appreciated the umbrellas available to check out at the front desk, which kept me from getting wet on the one day that it rained. The hotel staff was very friendly and housekeeping did a great job as well.

We stayed here for our 10 year wedding anniversary last weekend. It was our first time at this hotel and I have to say that we highly enjoyed it. The staff had left us a very sweet happy anniversary gift and were nothing but quick, friendly, and professional. The room was nice and we had a lovely little balcony, but it was a bit small for the price. However, being downtown can be VERY expensive so keep that in mind and it was a weekend in prime weather. I will say it was the quietest downtown room I've ever stayed in! Overall, we had a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone!

Great hotel with a reasonable price in downtown Portland. Close distance to almost everything and close to multiple transit spots. Amazing food nearby. Quiet location and we have the director's park view which was gorgeous. The room was very clean, had no problems in the room. The A/C is old style, so it had a bit of noise, but was not bothersome. Would come back and stay here again. Now my go-to hotel stay in Portland.

The second time we've stayed here and this hotel has always exceeded our expectations. Kind and professional staff always ready to help out. We so appreciate their personal touch in making our stay wonderful!

Plus, in a wonderful part of town and across from Starbucks, frozen yogurt, and a quick walk to a Target. We were totally covered for all our needs. (And I loved our little balcony.) Highly recommend!

Amazing hotel, staff and location!!!

Lovely hotel, situated perfectly in downtown Portland. Everything is close by and within walking distance. Also very easy to access the entrance to the freeways when driving. Everyone there from the reception, valet and housekeeping were amazingly friendly and helpful. We got text messages to check up on us as well! We always looked forward to returning back to the hotel to rest after each day's adventures.

Some people had issues with the valet costs, but that's to be expected if you are staying downtown. Don't drive if you don't want to pay for it... For us the valet service was great! Our car was brought out quickly and they were extremely helpful with directions.

We definitely recommend the Paramount Hotel and will be back the next time we are there.

We could have stayed lived here for a few days and been perfectly happy. Good food and drink, excellent service, quick assistance to get us here and there. Short walk to the city's incredible transportation services. The dining room service disappointed slightly,, but not enough to keep us from staying here again.

Very nice stay at the Paramount. Location is great right in the city so everything we wanted to see or do was within walking distance or a short metro ride. Room was spacious and had a mini fridge, but no microwave. There was a bath tub along with a shower in our room and provided bath salts, if we wanted to take a bath. Would definitely stay here again.

Absolute gem of a hotel in a great location downtown. Also got a great deal on the rate during my stay. Friendly staff, clean/updated room, good restaurants and amenities on site and in the area. Perfect for my work trip but I would definitely stay here for a personal trip. My new go-to hotel in Portland!

Service was incredibly helpful, efficient and friendly. It's a very central area if your goal is to enjoy the extended downtown area. The restaurant (Swine) is okay, but over-priced for what you get and hardly competes with the Portland dining scene. The bar (Swank) has a great look and feel to it. Drinks and appetizers are delicious with reasonable pricing given the general area.

I stayed here about fifteen years ago and it was good then, so I came back. It was just as good this time. The staff were friendly and helpful and I like the ability to text message with them to request service or report problems (though there weren't any problems). The room was clean and well-appointed. The location is right in the middle of everything in downtown Portland. Overall a great place to stay.

The hotel have a homey feeling and friendly staff. Location is fantastic, in a nice part of downtown Portland and is very close to shopping and dining. Very convenient. We can walk back and forth to the hotel after shopping to drop off things and rest a little bit before we proceed to our next itinerary. We enjoyed our stay and we will stay again here when we're in Portland.

Great customer service! Convenient, friendly, questions answered, prompt service, never had to wait for anything. Specific room requests granted. Comfortable atmosphere, felt welcomed entering, coming and going. Doormen, sometimes two, there to open the door. Restaurant/bar downstairs great for happy hour and drinks. Felt more like a nice casual stand alone restaurant without that boring “hotel restaurant” vibe. Super convenient location. Was traveling solo and felt very comfortable. Will definitely book here again and recommend to others. Thanks Paramount. Definitely made my short trip more enjoyable!

Great stay! We were able to check into our room 4 hours ahead of time because they had one available - no extra charge! That gave us a few hours to explore before our conference started.

We had a nice lunch at the restaurant.

Parking is $39 a day, which seemed a little steep but great service!

The Paramount Hotel in Portland is a very nice hotel, centrally located downtown, and the customer service is top-notch. It has become my go-to hotel whenever I visit the city. It's so great to be able to leave the car parked and walk everywhere. Shopping, artisan coffee, restaurants and bars are all close by. The hotel restaurant (Swank), and the bar (Swine), are both excellent.

I chose to stay here because it's central in downtown. Although we drove, it's convenient to go East or North or South. There isn't much traffic in the city, so it's very easy to drive. As they only have valet parking, we chose to park in the next building with a cheaper rate.
The room was very spacious with Starbucks coffee machine, which was topped up everyday. The restaurant is crowded everytime we came back. Their breakfast was also good (breakfast not included in the room rate).
However, I also noticed that their bed is a bit creaky. It made some sound whenever I moved. I won't say it's not comfortable though.
Overall, it's a nice place to stay.

Wonderful hotel right in the middle of downtown. It's a 10-minute walk to Powell's Books and the Pearl District. There is a farmer's market 1 block away in a beautiful park with a Theodore Roosevelt equestrian statue. Every where you walk there are beautiful tree-lined streets.

I loved staying at this hotel. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful especially the valets and concierge. The bar downstairs (Swine) makes great cocktails that you can enjoy in the bar, in the lobby, or in your room. The hotel is easy walking distance to many downtown Portland attractions. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and stylish.

It's located at the center of the downtown and very cozy and clean. l believe it's important that room has a refrigerator like this hotel to enjoy a lot of craft beer made in OR:)
It might be great if it had a bathtub, not only a shower.

Very friendly front desk staff and Concierge. Check in was quick and easy, with the valet car-parking being very handy. The room was clean and well presented. The bathroom required some maintenance, as there were a few large scuffs on the roof above the bath that left the dry wall underneath exposed. The air-conditioning unit was also very loud.

Services befitting a high-end hotel, including room service and valet parking. Room comes with a mini fridge and lock safe. Naturally it's all a bit pricy, but aside from that, a fairly typical but nonetheless enjoyable experience.

Our experience staying at this hotel was okay. The room itself was a lower quality than many of the hotels downtown while at about the same cost. We had an issue with the air conditioner our first night and while it was promptly fixed the next day, it still made for an unpleasant and disrupted sleep. The mattress was also stiff and uncomfortable. The hotel does feature a fantastic location and we enjoyed the bar downstairs.

This is the second time I've chosen the Paramount Hotel for my 3rd visit to Portland and have enjoyed the rooms and services provided. The location is conveniently close to the Trimet light rail which is good for getting around town as well as getting to and from the Portland International Airport. The restaurant inside the hotel has the tastiest breakfast. The rooms are clean and stocked with great amenities such as toiletries, towels, robes...all good stuff. Highly recommend for the value.

I booked a room here for my girlfriends birthday last weekend and was fully satisfied with the service, room amenities, views, and location. We ordered a burger from their restaurant before we headed out for the evening, it was delicious! Everything we wanted to do was within a 10 minute walking distance. The jetted tub was a huge plus along with the ease of access to everywhere we planned to go. I'm very happy I chose the Paramount Hotel to stay at, hope to come back again soon!

We travel to Portland a couple of times a year but this was our first stay at this hotel. We arrived in the pouring rain (it's Portland after all) and were greeted by a friendly staff. The check-in process was simple and the staff was "dog sitting" for a fellow guest. quite charming.

I just wanted to reach out and tell you how awesome your Riverplace staff is and how much I enjoy my stays there in Portland. As an inner circle member, I usually get upgraded at Kimptons, etc, but your staff always makes me feel incredibly special. Nicest room I have ever stayed in too! Parker was awesome at the front desk and the rest of your staff made my stay very enjoyable. Even while dealing with heavy snow and challenging weather in Portland.

The hotel was the spot for our night after our wedding. Although we live in Portland, who wants to go home to a house full of messy dishes!
Everything about the hotel was fine and average, but for the price, we expected something a little swankier.
They did have a jetted tub and the room service was the fastest I've ever had in a hotel. But the rooms weren't anything terribly special.
We did want to give a holler out to Ed, the bellman, who made sure that even though the restaurant had stopped room service, we were able to get some post wedding grub!

Amazing hotel. My step daughter and her soon to-be husband spent their wedding weekend at the Paramount. The hotel asked if they needed anything special. They thought they would have a little fun and asked for pictures of kittens, in space, eating pizza. That night two framed photos of kittens, in space, eating pizza arrived with a bottle of champagne. Thank you for that your effort! We all loved the hotel.

The hotel itself was okay, the rooms were nice, the fitness center was small. You have to pay around $40 a night for valet parking which seems a little ridiculous. You'd think as hotel guest you would gave parking provided. really made the stay memorable was the hotel bar. The folks that work there were absolutely awesome (Joe and Kaitlin) and can seriously craft a good cocktail. Definitely worth the visit.

Nice location especially if you are looking out to directors park which our room did. Nicely furnished and clean and decent TV. Great whisky bar in the lobby as well. However, 2 negatives in my book
1) Front staff was not very friendly. They weren't unfriendly but not very responsive and not very helpful in general. I had emailed to see if I could get an early check in and no response. when I stoppped by, they happily held my bag and told me they would call when the room was ready but I never got a call.

2) My room was LOUD. The couple next door had a baby that cried throughout the night on and off and I could hear it like it was in my own room. I would easily hear the voices in the next room as well so not much privacy and I would expect more for a luxury hotel

What a location. I used to live in Portland and you can not get better than this. The amount of restaurants within 1 block of this hotel is mind blowing. Also you have a movie theater, directors park, and pioneer square within 1 block. Also 1 block the all Max lines which means you are 1 block from going anywhere with Portland's great public transportation. The rooms are elegant and spacious for a downtown hotel. Ask for one with a view!! Two restaurants in the Lobby, 1 being a Whiskey Bar, again need I say more. The concierge will help you make reservations and tell you a good joke. This is the star of downtown accommodations in Portland and you really need not look any further. Can't wait till I can come back and stay here again!
