The place is beautiful. The views are great. BUT we went during a holiday where we overcrowded to the point where they were capping the number of people that were going into the pool area. In addition to that - there were two pools - one of the pool areas was supposed to be adults only and the other was family friendly. There was an overflow of kids at the adult pool and splashing and screaming. Felt more like a kids resort. They offered us a more relaxing experience at the spa pool - but it was not in a good location and it was just a lap pool. It was disappointing enough that we left after being at the resort for less than 4 hours. Not the most relaxing getaway.

Exclusive. Valet parking. exquisite outdoor patio or high end steakhouse in Tavern. Formal dining also. Decorations at Holiday time are worth seeing. Golf course best in the area. panoramic views of Pacific. Great Chef. Delightful menu options. Won't disappoint but if you open your wallet.

LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT!! Five Stars times a thousand. Beautiful facility with gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean. Every room is meticulously designed and the housekeeping staff and the maintenance crew keep the rooms and property spotless and in excellent condition. The landscaping is gorgeous and is maintained beautifully by the maintenance personnel. I had an opportunity to have a massage in their incredible well appointed Spa. The Resort is located in a beautiful (as if there are anything but) section of Dana Point known as Monarch Beach. My wish is that every person on this earth have a stay at this beautiful Resort. Of course the cost of a stay is in line with the quality of this beautiful place. As a result, the expense is prohibitive for most of us. I was blessed to stay on behalf of my spouses employer. I'm so grateful to the company and humbled to be a recipient of such generosity. Folks, if you ever have the opportunity to stay at this marvelous Resort, don't bypass the opportunity - you'll forever regret your decision!

Concierge is the best! Complimentary driver & Cadillac Escalade anywhere local- tram shuttle to Monarch Beach. Love Sunday Brunch Buffet $99. Good Customer Service. Excellent food & drink, even have a Starbucks. Great place to have lunch or dinner, cool cafe near the Golf Course. Very nice gazebo, gardens, pool, spa, & amenities.

Beautiful resort that has been recently updated. Great place to enjoy a fine dining experience at Michael Mina's Bourbon Steak. With a hotel stay you get to enjoy the beautiful Monarch beach club. Lots of locals come to enjoy cocktails and the views.

If you were to draw the most beautiful space to be in, it would look exactly like this. Plenty of room, beautiful architecture, huge fountains, colorful plants, spas, giant pool, next to lush green golf course and the ocean right behind it. Plus Immaculate service with amazing food. A very special place. it was an honor to be there.

Loved the resort for the facilities and rooms. Beach Club is a funny tram ride away and not ideal. Service left a lot to be desired for a 5-Star resort. All-in-all a great vacation but would try the Montage next time.

I was the DJ at this venue last night. It’s a beautiful venue. It’s the second event I’ve done here. Each in different ballrooms opposite sides from each other. It’s very high end, and I’m pretty sure it’s pricey all the way around. If you like luxury, you’ll over this place. As a DJ, loading for events is a little Challenging from the loading dock. But manageable depending on what room you’re trying to get to. You’re also kind of forced to valet. I had to walk a half mile for free parking, but depends on what room you’re in. I was in the Monarch 1 room. Btw, the food was excellent.

Beautiful property, attentive staff, and comfortable rooms makes for a memorable experience here. The tram makes regular trips to/from the beach, plus the pool is a lovely place to catch some sun (although I think there are too many lawn chairs around --makes it a tad difficult to navigate). I didn't try any of the restaurants on property, but they all seemed great. Expect to pay top dollar, but also be treated like royalty.

Really nice hotel, the views of the golf course and beach are nice at sunset. Kids loved the pool, they have one just for them which is 6in to 3.6ft. Perfect for the little ones. The service was great especially by the pool, they set the chairs for us and for drinks in our hands in less then 5 :). Variety of food in the restaurants for kind of limited would really like to see more choices especially for the snacks part, but other than that it was great. Really enjoyed the early check-in and late check-out they offered for AMEX users.

Amazing course, great customer service. Took a while to play but enjoyed ourselves the whole way. Greens are fast, views are fantastic. Overall, very enjoyable round on a great course with lots of sand to play in.

Initial impressions were fantastic. Then we tried to go to the pool. We were told they were full and we'd have to wait. So, we did. Finally got a spot. Tried to order food and the whole system was a disaster. Totally disorganized and slow. It seemed like everyone working there was European, new to their job, and lacked the skills to communicate properly. Some guy dressed like a mobster seemed to be overseeing the operation, but not well. On our way back from the pool we saw a DYING RAT on the sidewalk. Disgusting. We had a garden room and had the doors open in the afternoon. Had to listen to kids playing games on the lawn... that was fine except the guy running the games was talking to the kids via a handheld Elmo puppet with the most ear piercing, obnoxious voice. It was terrible.

If you're looking for an elite vacation experience you will get it in part here. It's lovely and the staff is super accommodating. You will have to deal with crowds and lots of kids - lots of kids... lots and lots of kids.

I'm just not sure it's worth the price tag.

Their is no words that l can that has been said of the resort extreme friendly and go out of there way to assist . I was disappointed with meal. Wow the way they resolved it was to make sure l was extremely satisfied. How many resorts would train their staff the priority goes to the guests. Kudos to management and staff.

This is one of the greatest spots in dana point. The views are outrageous. The staff is super nice and very helpful. The only part that I did not like was that a water bottle cost me 7 dollars. Other the that, it is a great place. Hopefully next time I have more time to golf. I did see that they have GPS on all the golf carts. It was very cool. The ballrooms for meetings were also very large and beautiful.

The annual holiday luncheon for my company was held at the Monarch Beach Resort. The resort is beautiful. The holiday decor was stunning. The staff was friendly and very professional. We visited monarch beach resort for a wedding. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. The ballroom was a generous size and staff was extremely friendly. The only minor downside to this was the location of the bathroom in relation to the ball room. Otherwise had a great time.

For a work finance related conference. Food was great. Hotel was really beautiful. Valet parking was fairly quick. At one point they did manage to run out of beer in the bar, but managed to restock within the hour. Bring sunglasses!

I will admit, I thought my stay was for the most part amazing. I had Room 538 in the North wing facing the pool and the view was Immaculate, of the grand lawn and the main pool area. Speaking of the pool, it was a beautiful area, with 3 hot tubs and 2 large pools, however the pool got very crowded. I found the food to be fine, however I wish there were more breakfast options. I also found that oftentimes I could hear outdoor events because there is a large patio to the side of the main lawn. And finally, the only reason I am apprehensive about staying here again is the price. This was not a cheap hotel, combined with flight costs overall this was an expensive, albeit very serene vacation. Would stay again, if only the prices were a bit lower. But, You get what you pay for for the most part

We arrived to celebrate my daughter's 16 year old birthday, with her younger sister and a close friend with a Resort Day Pass. I paid for the pool and the spa add-on for the four of us. The outdoor pool area was absolutely beautiful. The campus is gorgeous, the help was friendly and excellent. It was a great experience! I would have given it five stars for this experience alone; however, with the spa add-on there were problems. 1) The whirpool and sauna were under construction, and I was given no notice of that when I clicked on the "spa add-on". If I had known that I would not have paid for the spa. 2) In addition to that, I was also not informed that the spa was not available to children under 16. Again, I did not see any notice to that effect when I clicked on "spa add-on package" online. Nowhere did it indicate that children under 16 were not allowed. So I paid for two tickets that were completely unusable and the other two were not very usable either because key parts of the spa experience were under construction. I have asked for a reimbursement. I was told I would be reimbursed by the staff there that day, but I have not received my reimbursement yet and despite my attempts to contact the staff, I have not received an answer. I am extremely disappointed that something like this happened at such a high quality resort, and especially on my daughter's birthday.

Oct 26-28, I stayed at the resort with my sister, newborn nephew and mother. We stayed on the 3rd floor in the north wing. Our toilet had problems flushing. When it did flush it over flowed. Maintenance was called twice to come fix and mop the excess water flow. This was during the hours in which my family & baby were sleeping. The pool side service was good. We ordered lunch - it was pricy, burger / fries $24, kids chicken tenders $12. The kitchen split the burger on 2 plates for us to share. Friday night, the lounge by the lobby had live music - it was loud and not good. I got a headache.

This hotel was something of a first experience as the valet for parking was exceptional and all the people for service was really nice. I attended this place for the latitude 2017 event. The place where the event is held is amazing in its own right and the location is great.

From the moment we arrived this hotel and its staff have been exceptional. Any desire is responded to immediately. I would recommemd this resort to amy of my friends. If you are questioning if you would like to come stay, the answer is yes. One negative... The self parking lot is small and full almost 100% of the time. Which forces you to pay for valet parking. On that bright side, it was only 5 dollars more a day for valet parking than self parking this weekend. Which in my opinion is worth every penny. Enjoy your stay. I know i have enjoyed mine.

Fantastic resort and amazing golf course. However, don't expect easy access to the beach. The property is located quite a distance away. Fortunately there is a resort shuttle service that can take you down there. Our room was very nice. Resort staff comes twice a day: once to tidy up your room and once in the late afternoon/evening to prepare your bed for bedtime. Resort food is expensive -- would recommend taking the trolley to nearby Dana Point for local restaurants.

The reviews here definitely live up to it's hype. I can be an SPG snob from time to time, because I absolutely love the service you get at any of their hotels.

We came here for a wedding and I was completely blown away by the hotel grounds, the service and the ambiance and attention to detail. The staff was very friendly without overbearing you. Everyone had a smile on their face and catered to any need you had. The grounds were absolutely stunning! I was in complete awe at how well maintained it looked and how beautiful it was to have such a special event here.

Definitely plan on coming back for a visit soon!

Monarch Beach resort is a lovely place. They have some nice amenities especially the shallow pool for young kids.

While they have a rather convenient mini-shuttle that can take you to and from the beach, the resort isn't on the beach, which is sort of misleading when it comes to the name of the hotel.

Either way, it's a nice place and a nice getaway.

The hotel was beautiful. Well kept. Well staffed. The food they catered wasn't amazing but very good quality ingredients so I enjoyed eating the vegetables. The micheladas were bad. The lime was pre squeezed and I'm assuming refrigerated and it gave it a weird taste. Also they need to use taijin. Just needs to be redone all together. Bartender was nice enough to change my drink.

very Nice Resort! i have been there several Times and every time I have stayed here its always the same thing all the staff are wonderful and helpful. The rooms are very well appointed (although a tad dark for reading, but I understand that they're correcting that), the service is impeccable. Small wishes are granted with a sense of graciousness that makes you feel very pampered, like you're the very best guest they've ever had(!) No nickel and diming once you succumb to the $25 resort fee. Stunning grounds, fabulous pool, gorgeous stay-all-day beach and lots of good restaurants. because there's so much to explore and so many good dining options and A beautiful hotel with a fabulous beach club. We came back to our room one evening and there was a bottle of champagne chilling. I called the front desk to see if they could tell me who sent it, and apparently the hotel had sent it complimentary. Service was great and would stay at this Hotel again Not just beautiful; beyond it! Stellar yet far from stuffy, professional yet personable customer & guest service. Immaculate views and accommodations... Enjoy.

Beautifully location, very peaceful, but unfortunately this hotel suffers from the rip off tax, once they have you in, they feel it their duty to overcharge you. Adding 21% plus $5 to a $10 bagel when in room, plus charging you $15 for using the internet, despite paying $300+ per night. It's a shame these hotels feel the necessity to behave like crooks. My stay would of been a lot less pleasant without these charges added.

This was, perhaps, the best hotel I've ever stayed in. Compares favorably to Grand Wailea Beach Hotel, St. Regis in Hawaii, so it's not just the lovely location in Dana Point. We actually never left the resort on our short-ish stay, which is rare for us, because there's so much to explore and so many good dining options. Enjoy.
