I loved staying here. The room was a decent size and clean. Great location for walking to just about everywhere in down town Chicago. Staff is friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back. That was part of the view from my window.

What can you not like about the Magnificent Mile? It's Chicago at its best so many hotels to check out and see, so much money to spend, so many cabs to hail, and so many tips to pass out! Bring your money and patience and be prepared for my wonderful time... we switched hotels up and I'm much more prefer the Ritz

One of my favorite hotels in the city! Great staycation spot. Boutique, European feel. Sleek design. Coffee in the room. There's even an in room safe. Very clean, comfortable fluffy bed, cozy, quiet. Highly recommend! Fabulous location, walk everywhere. Ditkas restaurant on the main floor. Parking is available in the building as well as nearby but a little pricey. Looking forward to my next stay here!

PERFECT LOCATION!!!!
Cons: Wasn’t told they would put an extra $100 on hold if damaged room. Being a student I didn’t come with much money to begin with, so that threw my weekend off. They could of just kept a card on file and charged it if anything happens.. honestly room is clean, no complaints there. Tub doesn’t drain, and the water doesn’t get hot.

The location is amazing! The rooms are a tad small but they are clean and just what we needed. We were in Chicago for Pokemon Go Fest 2018, and the Tremont suited our needs very well. If you are looking for an inexpensive hotel at a great location, the Tremont is perfect.

The rooms amazing for the price. Both decaf and caffeinated coffee and tea, a closet with a light that turns on when you open the door, a ceiling fan, and a fold out TV. Also, the people working here are just so friendly. Truly an experience I wouldn't mind going through again

The room was fabulous. The bed was extremely comfortable! Loved it, wish I could have taken it home .The bedding was delightfully soft and plush. Extremely clean room, the maid service was spectacular, very kind personnel.Loved staying here. I slept like a Baby!

The handle of my shower came off on my first attempt to use it, went to front desk they fixed it in one day but now two days later it's about to fall off again. Also while taking the shower the drain works REALLY slow and it becomes a bath for your feet in 5 minutes. But I will say the surrounding area is nice and breakfast at Ditkas was a solid buffet and only 10 bucks

Didn't have much of a view, just a view into the alley. This was their cheapest room choice to be fair. The bed was comfortable. No mini fridge or microwave. Water got hot really fast so that was nice. Bathroom was clean. Service was friendly and accomadating. Pretty much everything I could ask for besides a mini fridge to keep my leftovers in.

Depending what room you stay at determines the star rating. Best case I would say a three star worst case down to a one star. The pictures online show the update deluxe king rooms. Let me tell you originally I didn't get no updated room. The toilet I'm sure was from the 70's. Once I complained and was upgraded it wasn't too bad and met a higher standard. Location is fantastic and unless in the lobby the internet is slower than molasses. Overall not my favorite hotel but the location can't be beat.

Always a great place to stay...close to everything including red line to get to other neighborhoods. Only issue is it is May and they have switched to AC so room does not have heat and today is in the 40's outside and my room is 63 degrees...not comfortable. Room 1406 on 5/20/18.

We loved our stay at the Tremont. Deja was at the front desk and seemed to know everything there was too know about Chicago, even to the smallest details. The bed was comfortable. The bath faucet had a thermometer so you could accurately draw a bath. A fine establishment.

The Tremont was nice surprise despite the not so great reviews. The hotel is older and the bathrooms suggest this. The rooms themselves are simple but clean and updated. Also, Ditkas restaurant is onsite so if you want to eat you're covered. Location. Location is where this hotel excels. If you want to be close Magnificent Mile/ Michigan Ave then this will suffice. If you want to be close to shopping and many restaurants and bars/ nightlife the Tremont is a safe bet for a reasonable price. Literally a half block off Michigan Ave and Water Tower Place.

Once this hotel had gobs of charm (think back to its heyday ending on the 80s) but it is dearly lacking today. Not even sure why Starwood keeps this hotel under its umbrella of inventory. Room was spacious and the bed was quite comfy. Location is tremendously good. Ceiling fans in the rooms are always a treat. Bathroom left gobs to be desired... Leaking sink drain, moldy wallpaper, total disrepair for annupscale hotel.

Pro Tip: If this location is $100 less than everyone else, go for it. But if it is equal to other brands, you're just as well at the Hampton Inn or other generic hotel.

Romantic experience SPG class. We celebrate our wedding anniversary at this cozy hotel located in the Chicago gold coast. Our host was very kind, giving us a room with great view. The room was completely renovated with brand new furniture. Thank you, my wife had a great time and I felt like a champ.

The location was great for close by shopping or to eat out. Just walk outside and everything's right there. We got to stay on the 14th floor, and had a nice view of Michigan Ave from one of our windows. Upon check-in the desk staff was very nice and we didn't have any issues. We stayed in a queen single bed and it was just a small room, no frills. Everything was clean and kept up. The bed was pretty comfortable and both of us slept pretty well. We woke up and had the continental breakfast which was okay. I think the only thing they were really lacking was some type of breakfast meat. We would definitely consider staying here again the next time we're in Chicago.

Shower water waa not hot enough also the lowest water pressure of any hotel I have ever stayed at. I paid for a queen bed and got a full bed. Air vents in my room we're filthy. TV speakers were blown. Audio on all channels we're popping. Good location that's about it. Would not stay there again. Oh I asked for an extra room key card and it seemed I ruined the receptionists day.

We upgraded to a king size bed in our room. There were doors slamming all night. The alarm at he front door went off for 2 days straight. It needs a remodel. Staff was accommodating and helpful. It is centrally locates so it was easy to get to most places by walking. It’s just a little cheaper than the other hotels in the area. We will most likely not stay there again.

This hotels in an amazing location easily walkable to many of Chicago's downtown destinations. The rooms are okay meeting base expectations. The lighting in the room could be dramatically improved. While the hotel recently renovated its rooms, the bathroom and shower remain in need of attention. Finally while the hotel has a lack of amenities , it's location makes up for that as you can get almost anything you need within walking distance

Very centrally located with good amenities and a nice lobby. Rooms were fine, but could use some updates - and there was a leak in the shower faucet. Gym on the third floor was nice and had good equipment. Valet parking is $67 a night - which is kinda outrageous, but not more expensive than other places and it does include in and out. Breakfast was good - scrambled eggs and hash browns, yogurt, bagels, and some kind sweet rolls - but I was surprised by the lack of proteins (ham, bacon, sausage etc). Service was professional and good, but a bit impersonal.

Perfect location right in the middle of the downtown ! You can just walk to most of the tourist locations. Lots of restaurants and shopping outlets in the vicinity. Hotel staff is extremely amicable and polite. They got us a microwave in less than 5 mins on request. They even provided us complementary breakfast for a day as they missed to clean our room. I'm highly satisfied and would love to visit them again !

The only saving grace for this hotel is its location next to the Mag mile, and the lobby employees. It is supposed to be a renovated hotel, but there are many places where they did a very shabby job of it. The windows leaked air, which in a city like Chicago is very annoying. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. Finally, the door that adjoins our room to the next one, never seemed to be fully secured. There are many other hotels in the area that provide a better quality stay.

The Tremont hotel at Magnificent mile is located next to a number of great shopping and restaurants, a great home base to explore the wonderful city of Chicago. It has a nice sitting area on the first floor, connected to a fabulous steakhouse, and has a tiny gym on the third floor. The hotel staff are very friendly and nice, making the overall stay very hospitable.

The rooms are decently sized, but you can tell the bathrooms are very dated. Not a big fan of the bath amenities either, and you can hear conversations in the hallway and fire trucks outside. However, besides that, the rooms have everything else that's needed (as well as a bed very suited to sit up in and work).

Keeping in mind this is one of those historic buildings not a new Starwood property... The bed is nice, which is key. The room size was adequate. The windows are noisy, both street noise and wind. There is no room service or bar. Reasonable breakfast available at Ditka's downstairs.

The staff was really nice and friendly. The room was clean but could use a bit of updating. It did have an iHome speaker for newer iPhones as well as Bluetooth for other devices and two charger power strips, which was very convenient. The bed was really comfortable and they had a thermostat in the room. They also had a gym on one of the floors for guest to use and and connected to a restaurant.

We stopped at this downtown Loop Hotel so we could use their valet parking. After 10 minutes nobody came outside we decided to call in and found out we had to go inside for valet parking. The employees were nice and very polite. One employee even ran a few blocks to get a receipt because that's what we needed for our parking. Highly recommend this fabulous establishment

I have to say I was somewhat disappointed with this property. It is a Starwood Property so I was expecting a little bit more. The breakfast offering was a bit mediocre. The staff was friendly but they allowed some shoe shiners to hang out in front and they bothered us when we would go in and out. The one thing I do have to say about this hotel is that its location is awesome if you wish to be close to the Hancock and Water Tower and the heart of things that people like to do on the North End.

I loved the friendly staff and the rooms. It's wonderful that there are only a large handful of rooms per floor. It makes this hotel feel safer and worth the price paid. The beds are amazing feeling, however they are a little too soft for me.

Staff was friendly and accomodating - allowed early check in which I'm very grateful for. My room was clean. The only complaint I have is that there's a draft of cold air from the windows, on a cold Chicago winter day it will take a lot of heat to compensate. I wouldn't let that stop me from staying again.

Asked for a two bedroom. They said ok. Get there. 1 bed. They say that this building doesn't acclimate 2 beds. Got to the room. Toilet didn't flush. 2nd room, shower wouldn't drain. 3rd room. Fine. Whatever. 5000 spg points down the drain. "Premium hotel" my ass.

Construction was going on outside of room at 8:30am without notice before renting. Advertised several accommodations that were not available such as Hot tub and workout room. The view was not pleasant to look out of unless your fond of air conditioning units. However, the service was nice and the bed was comfortable, shower also warmed up quick and it was a roof over our heads.

Not at all worth the cost. The lobby is well appointed and the concierge attentive, but out room was a huge disappointment. It was hot and stuffy, so we turned down the heat using the in-room thermostat. We called down when it started pumping out hot air anyway and were told our system only puts out one type of air, and if we wanted it cooler we needed to open a window. Only one window opened, and we got to listen to the garbage trucks and tons of other noise if we didn't want to swelter. The toilet barely worked and the bathroom had no vent system. The bed was acceptably comfortable.

The location is fantastic and the price per night is reasonable. However, I was underwhelmed by the size of the room and the lack of hotel amenities, like a gym or swimming pool. The main elevator is quite slow. Overall, I would probably stay here again because of the location-to-price factor.

Great location right downtown within walking distance to lots of cool places. I had a show at the Laugh Factory and was a $8 Uber ride away at night.

Important to note that there were two different elevators that ran on different buttons, so sometimes you had to check to see which one was closest to your floor before hitting the button.

I stayed on the 14th floor, and everything was quiet. I got a great night sleep in the comfy bed and the hotel staff at the front was very nice. Some places you check in and the zombie employees show no emotion or care. Even as I walked out the front door staring at my phone trying to figure out which way to walk, the valet noticed and offered help. His job was to park cars, but it was a nice representation of the hotel. Usually you have to wave someone down.

The iphone 5 compatible stereo next to the bed was a nice treat. I didn't even have to break out my phone charger and was able to play some tunes in the room from my phone.

The bed was comfy as always at SPG hotels. Charming hotel. The A/C wall unit was easy to use and kept the room nice and cool during the summer. Would stay here again if I come back to town.

I stay at hotels ~130 nights/year, so I was worried with the reviews about this hotel. There must have been recent improvements, because I thought the hotel was great. The lobby is nice place to hang out, no wait for elevators, beds are extremely comfortable, desks are functional, decor is updated, TV has tons of channels, and the staff was very courteous.

A few things to note for frequent travelers - there's no club floor, no restaurant/bar in the hotel (lots around the hotel), and no business center. Not sure if there's a fitness room - didn't see one.

If you're coming to Chicago and planning to spend your time in the city - this is a great hotel.
