Turtle Cay was a great place. Had a place for you to take your kids and I had a place for you to go as an adult. I will totally recommend this resort to anybody. Family-oriented or young adults this place is going to cater to your needs

My accommodations-a 2 bedroom lockoff were lovely, both spacious and comfortable. We had a balcony overlooking the pools and an obstructed ocean view. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We liked the easy access to the beach/boardwalk. There were activities largely geared towards children. For adult activities, you needed to go to a sister resort across the street - we didn't bother. There is no on-site restaurant or lounge, which would be nice, but I'd stay there again.

Great resort with 1 block walking distance from beach. I was hoping for free umbrellas or chairs but they dont provide it. They have 2 pools for the family that are heated! On southern side of beach so its less busy and more kid friendly. Bedroom suit was spacious!

Turtle Cay is a relaxing, enjoyable resort located on the southside and across the street from the ocean at Virginia Beach. It has a beach house vibe. It is built in a fort like formation surrounding a pool area that is like an oasis with 2 hot tubs and 2 pools, one with ramp style entrance. It offers rooms with balconies facing either into the pool area or out to a small lake with a fountain. It offers 1 bedroom suites with full kitchens and a sleeper sofa in the living room which can be combine with or separated from a studio room with 2 beds and a kitchenette. Some units have washers and dryers in them. The staff includes recreation which provides various physical and craft activities spread throughout the week. The front desk was very helpful in securing the room I requested.

My family and me have been going here every year ever since it first opened. Turtle cay never fails to make it a best vacation ever. Everyone is very very friendly and very helpful if you ever have any questions. They always make the week that we are here like home. I highly recommend booking a room and staying for a week

Room was clean. Very odd that you enter through the bedroom. Should hang a few hooks in the shower & bathroom. Pool was nice. Staff was friendly. That being said, we will NEVER return. The parking situation is beyond horrible. There are far too few spots in the on-grounds garage. The spots that are available are VERY tight. The overflow parking garage, across the street, is what nightmares are made of. Not just tight spaces ~ super tight turns onto unreasonably steep ramps. The marks on the walls are testament to all those cars that didn't make it out unscathed. We were held hostage to the grounds once we did get a spot in the on-grounds garage, for fear of ever being forced to enter that unmanueverable overflow garage again. Updating on 6/16/18 ~ since returning from our trip one month ago, I have been bombarded with sales calls from various numbers that track back to Diamond Resorts. Run don't walk!!! And DON'T give them your phone number!

This is a Diamond Resort. While the accommodations are not comparable to Diamond Resorts we have visited in other locations, they are fine. Comparable to hotel quality. We had a one bedroom with a full kitchen which was fine for two of us. Everything worked except the ice maker in the refrigerator. An ice machine is available. The pool area is very nice and offers areas for kids to play. The staff was polite and very attentive....typical of what we have seen at other Diamond Resorts and better than hotel service. The location is at the south end of the boardwalk area away from the crowds. If you like to walk, the boardwalk from end to end is about 2.725 miles.... 5.45 round trip. We would stay here again.

The suites are nice. The smaller rooms - not as great. The walls were paper thin, as we could hear our neighbors making coffee and chatting, and we were kept up at night from the noise of people walking around the hallways. The beds in the smaller rooms were terribly creaky as well. If we had not been able to upgrade to a suite on our second day there, it would not have been a good stay.

Our suite was clean, it smelled fresh. 2 heated pools and 2 nice hot tubs. Right on Atlantic Ave close to all the shopping and restaurants. Turtle Cay is a nice, well run resort. We would stay here again for sure.

I was so looking forward to staying here however it lacks in many areas. I guess I expected more. The rooms are large. The parking and room access is terrible. Location is great. Pool is top notch. Amenities could use alot of work. I would stay here again .it's good just could be much better with some effort.

Our reserved unit was unavailable on arrival. The first unit we were placed in had the smoke detector hanging by a wire from the ceiling, the toilet was backed up and no plunger, you enter into the bedroom ( this appears to be the cas with the majority of the units) the phone didn't work. That's what we noticed in the first 5 min. . The staff was great and switched us to another unit, one where you don't enter into the bedroom per my request. This unit had issues as well but they where tolerable. The balcony and bathroom doors didn't latch, the washer didn't spin out well, the stove had no markings to show heat levels, and the crank for opening the bedroom window was missing. The unit was clean and comfortable. It was located across the street from the boardwalk.

The rooms available at Turtle Cay Resort completely blew me away in terms of quality and size. The layout of the room makes it rather comfortable for two couples (or a family of four) to share the same room. The kitchen was not only full sized but it was furnished with nice appliances and a granite countertop. The parking lot was underground and under construction but seemed acceptable and safe. The swimming pools we're better than I thought they would be, but I could see where they could seem crowded during peek use. The only critiques I have are that the bathroom seemed more dated than the rest of the hotel, some of the doors had issues opening and closing, and I wasn't fond of the placement of the bed near the entry/stairway. Overall I enjoyed myself and would stay again for the right price.

We were there for a long weekend in the off season of VA Beach. Location was awesome on the south end and although it wasn't waterfront is was still on the strip. We had a single suite and the room itself was great. Full kitchen had everything you would need to prepare meals at the resort. Nice large living room with pull-out couch bed and a fireplace which made the room very quaint. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Saw some stuff about a high pressure sales pitch for a time share, but that was not my experience at all, and time share doesn't accurately describe their service. We were asked of we had extra time while we were there, but when I mentioned that we did not they never mentioned anything about a sales seminar. We will definitely stay here again, and, in fact, plan on finding out more about the vacation packages that Diamond Resorts offer.

Stayed with a bunch of friends for a convention in October. It was cold out, but the pools were nice and heated. The staff were very nice. Location is nice, as its across the street from the beach.

My husband and I have stayed here several times and always enjoyed our stay. We have only ever had one problem and they went above and beyond to make it right, even upgrading us to the penthouse which was lovely. The only thing that kept me from giving a five star rating is the concierges pushing the timeshares from the minute you arrive to the minute you leave. I woke up to my phone ringing bright and early on a Sunday morning to an "invitation" to a timeshare meeting. Are you kidding me? We booked for a relaxing weekend, not to be hounded about timeshares we aren't interested in. There were some tiny problems - lines of dead pixels on the TV screen and a broken drain cover in the jetted tub, though they are currently undergoing renovations so I would expect those to be resolved soon.

We stayed at Turtle Cay in Virginia Beach, and were overall pleased with the location and the service. The beds were comfy and the staff were nice, too.

The only downside was the room itself. It had a great view from the porch, but it was a shared porch and we were sleeping next door to some partiers.

Aside from that, it was a great stay and I'd recommend to anyone in the area.

Absolutely THE place to stay when in Virginia Beach. The rooms were fantastic. The staff impeccable. After having a disastrous time attempting to check into our original hotel (you'll see that review later) we ended up seeking refuge at Turtle Cay. The night auditor Kevin went above and beyond to secure us a very nice studio room which was excellent. The very next night we were given a room for free as we had so many difficulties checking in (not Turtle Cay's fault was the booking app) but the fact that they gave us a night on them when they didn't have to was phenomenal. They also upgraded us to the king suite which had a private balcony overlooking the beautiful pool area. The ocean can be seen from most rooms but if you are on the street side, a quick walk around the secure exterior balcony will garner you a fantastic view of the ocean.

Worth the money. Stayed in a king clubhouse on bottom floor. Room is clean and well designed. Feels comfortable. Kitchen layout works well. Sofa bed is not comfortable. Fireplace was nice although we didn't use it. The ample amount of outdoor pools will keep the kids busy and they were open in October. The concierge is a bit annoying because they try to sucker you into attending a shareholder meeting. Would have give five stars if i wasn't badgered after an 11 hour drive to buy shares of a resort I hadn't even stayed in yet.

Rooms are nice, staff has been pleasant in our limited interactions, very convenient location in terms of getting to the beach. The internet is a bit spotty, and it could use more dishes in the kitchen, but those are fairly minor issues. Overall, a very satisfactory experience.

We vacation here every year and its always nice. They are in the middle of renovating some areas which was much needed and it could use a little more but overall I love the atmosphere and setup. It has a unique and innovative parking setup under the resort so your car is always in the shade, and the pools are adequate for the amount of people staying there. Access to the beach and surrounding areas is a plus. Some rooms have decent ocean views and are well furbished. If you want any more you're probably crazy and setting your expectations too high, this is it!

We booked it as a hotel, not a timeshare, yet our room was connected to a larger apartment. We could hear everything so got no sleep. In addition we heard every suitcase rolled down across both lengths of the hall and vacuuming at 7 am on Sunday for 30 minutes. There was no breakfast or coffee in the lobby and the coffee in the room was not good. It was $30 a day to have room cleaning added. I had a debit card overnighted for Saturday delivery but was not told it arrived and went to check on it Monday when we left to find that it was there.
The room was spacious but dark and standard. Bathroom was kinda dingy. Toiletries were below par.
The pools are salt water which is nice, but other than that, nothing special about this place. No services offered or fun to be had. Sister resort was out dated. Poor food choices there, small pools, no adult options...
Wouldn't go back

Location: Right by the beach, awesome. At night there are some loud motorcycles that like to gun it.

Room/Amenities: Pool for the kids if you've got one, if not there's another building/facility to use that have gym equipment. The room was spacious and the bathroom has a shower stall and a Jacuzzi! The kitchen came with basic cooking equipment including pots and pans. Dishes were supplied.

WiFi gets spotty if your room is far from the router in the room, which was especially frustrating on a Mac for some reason.

Very clean and definitely deserve 3.8 stars or more. Clean pool and bathroom in 308b were nice, neat. One thing to remember, the clean towels are not given on daily basis. The room service is provided ONLY on the 8th day. So, keep your rooms clean :)

Nice large rooms. Staff kept walking into our room unannounced. There were ants in our kitchen, the staff tried to get rid of them, but the ants kept coming back. The F-14s flying over meant you couldn't sleep in. Pools and hot tubs were clean and warm. Very close to the beach.

Huge rooms, full kitchen, 2br lockoff had a washer and dryer, comfy beds, 2.5 bathrooms. Resort has great kids pool and nice deep pool, too. You can use the indoor pool at the sister property across the street if it's cold. Also access to the gym (very nice gym!), activities, business center. It's not beach front but you can see the ocean across the street from some rooms. With all this space and home-like amenities, we will be back.

This was a great hotel. I was here during the off season for work for a while. The rooms are clean, they come with full kitchens and a washer/dryer in the room! Theybhave tow outdoor, heated year round pools and two hot tubs. Only down side, no points, but it was well worth it all!

This little cottage style resort in VA Beach is quaint, quiet, and cozy. It is not ocean front, but the beach is accessible right across the street. There are numerous seafood and niche restaurants within walking distnce. The property has two heated pools and two smaller hot tub type pools, both for year-round enjoyment. Parking is easy and exclusive to the resort via their underground garage. I highly recommend this place for both business and pleasure stays in the Virginia Beach area.

I really enjoyed the stay at this resort. It was a beautiful resort with plenty of space and amazing amenities. The only thing is that we were told that we could check out at noon at no extra charge even though the posted check out time is 10 am. We felt like we were harassed including housekeeping trying to barge in and the front desk calling multiple times asking when we would be checking out starting at 10 am.

i cannot describe how much i love this place! i sometimes used to worry about the reviews about bedbugs, but there are none! the place is about a 10 minute walk to the beach, but its okay. the location is nice! inside the room, is very nice! the kitchen is spacious, it was very pretty! a walk in shower type thing and a tub to bathe in. the pool was outdoor, and it was a pretty decent size. it was a bit noisy when people passed by our room at times. the room was very clean, and the workers were nice, our first time staying at this place, we got locked out of our room because the keys did not function, we had to wait a while but the workers were very patient and helped to get us a new key! the place had a nice beachy ambiance to it, nothing else i can really say about this place except i really like it (love it) and i wish my family went here more often! totally recommend it if your coming to VA.

If the room had been clean, we would probably give this a higher rating. The property itself was nice, the pool area was great, the staff was friendly. BUT upon arrival one of the beds in the room was unmade, looking like it was just slept in, I found dental floss on the floor, and there were dirty wash cloths in the shower. I called down to the front desk and asked for this to be corrected, but it never was. I also had to call down twice to request a pack n play for my son which I had requested prior to arrival. We enjoyed our stay, but, were disappointed in these issues and felt it was not worth the price we paid. Don't think we would come back.

A Diamond Resorts property, primarly time share owned. Located at the south end and across the street from the beach. Three story building in a square formation surrounding a gated courtyard oasis with two pools, two spas, two waterfalls, a gazebo and tropical plants. Three styles of rooms. Singles, sleeps 4, with king size bed, and flat screen tv. Bathroom with jetted tub and seperate shower. Stacked washer and dryer. Full size kitchen including a dishwasher, microwave, flat top stove, oven, coffeemaker, cookware and dishes. Stools along counter for eating. Living room with gas fireplace, sleeper sofa, flat screen tv, and balcony overlooking the pool area. Two bedroom units, sleep 8, have all the above features plus a dinning table. Some of these balconies are street side with a view of a small lake and fountain. The second bedroom can be locked out and used separately. It does not have a balcony. It has 2 queen beds, flat screen tv, microwave, coffeemaker, under counter fridge, table and chairs in one room, and it's own standard bathroom with a shower tub combo. There are also Penthouse units. Basement parking. The resort offers various family fun activities daily and guest have use of accomodations across the street at Beach Quarters.which includes a gym, whirlpool, sauna, indoor pool and spa, 7th floor outdoor pool and snack bar.

The layout to the room was very awkward and clunky, you walk in and right away it's as if a standard hotel room was just extended into a resort "suite", it felt as if it was a second thought and didn't feel as if I was at a resort. The floors might need a cleaning but the furnishings were nice. My mom had trouble with inconsistencies with the staff wether it be about parking or check outs, but the supervisors were very helpful and accommodating. The location was alright, just cross two streets and you're at the beach, so there was no view. The amenities from the joint hotel/resort system was nice, using the gym and pool was cool. Overall my stay was forgettable, but along a strip of dozens of motel/hotels I shouldn't expect much.

This was our third time staying at Turtle Cay. The two women working at the front desk helped me get the perfect room (with a view). The room was so large and clean....the fire place set the mood. Their large room has a full kitchen, an excellent bath tub and in-room washer and dryer. The swimming pools with hot spa are fabulous but unfortunately there isn't any bar. Just 30 seconds walk to the beach.
